Chapter 1 - Prologue-Camp Crystal Lake, Friday, June 13, 1958

The last time Barry was thinking about Claudette, his girlfriend, was last summer. On Friday, June 13, 1957, (a year earlier), they were making out in the old, 1930's era barn. They didn't hear the cries of 'Help me! Help me!'. They had been going out since nineteen fifty-six. The moon's glow filled the darkened sky; the lake's water glistened across the eerie lake, near the camp. Several campers were around the burning fire that made everyone warm. It was 74 degrees in New Jersey. In the cabins were the campers who had been sleeping for a long time. They had ignored the screams of Jason Voorhees; they were eager to sleep for a long, long, time. Outside, Barry waited.

'Milk and honey...Hang your head, Tom Dooley! Hang your head, Tom Dooley! You're going to die!', sang Claudette. She gave the guitar to John Kemp, a African-American teenager. 'Thanks, Claudette', he said. Claudette waited. The campers ran to the barn; the barn door re-opened. They went inside. Barry opened the door with his right hand. Once the teenage couple smiled, Claudette asked: 'Does Mary Ellen kiss better than I do?'.

'How do I know. We kissed back in nineteen fifty-four. It was brief. My first kiss; her first kiss. Besides, we were fourteen', Barry answered her. 'Oh, you', Claudette smiled. She was innocent; he wasn't innocent. Barry raced up the stairs. In the small attic, both of them kissed. As they made out, the killer opened the brown colored door; the sounds of love making was heard upstairs. The moon was still full outside. By 8:30 PM, the campers were tired of campfire stories, and songs, as they went to bed in their cabins. The camp counsellors had short, blonde hair, bright, blue eyes, and average height. The words: CAMP CRYSTAL LAKE was on the yellow T-shirts. Their blue shorts kept them warm. Claudette stopped kissing. 'Someone's here'. Barry waited, as the killer grabbed a knife.

'Hey, we weren't doing anything, really...'.

Claudette screamed, as the knife stabbed Barry in the chest.

She screamed: 'No! Please...no!'.

She ran.

The yellow bales of hay toppled to the ground.

And the killer attacked her.

The death curse of Camp Crystal Lake was born.
