A few days later, the first day of school arrived. Jono wakes up early to prepare himself and other necessities that he will bring to school.
"I didn't expect this day to come so soon," Jono said, looking at his reflection in the large mirror in his bedroom. He noticed the necklace hanging from his neck pop out of his shirt.
Jono then put the necklace back on his shirt. "Grandpa said, this necklace is an ancestral heritage necklace," muttered Jono, while holding the necklace that had been hidden beneath his shirt.
"Even though at first it wasn't comfortable to wear this necklace, over time it looks cool too," he said, grinning. For Jono, this necklace is an important item because it is the only heirloom from his family.
"If I run out of money, maybe this necklace will come in handy."
"Antiques are usually quite expensive," said Jono, smirking. For him, no matter how important the item is, it must be of use when he needs it. If he needed money, he would most likely sell the necklace.
"Hopefully Grandpa won't be too upset if I sell this inherited necklace," he said jokingly. Jono then reorganized his appearance and the attributes of the school students he wore.
At seven in the morning, Jono left for his school, WW-014 High School. Using public transportation, he only takes about fifteen minutes using mini-buses to get to the school from his apartment. This school is the only high school located near the Oaf Public Settlement District in the outer area.
From his high school's front gate, he could see several buildings belonging to this high school. "Wow, this school turned out to be quite large, didn't it?" He said this as he walked in through the school gate, admiring his school.
Many new students paused briefly in front of the gate to admire the splendor of their high school. In fact, there are quite a few who take photos for memories or to show off.
Jono can see some directions in several places in the school. The directions are intended for new students who have just entered to gather in a place that has been prepared.
At eight in the morning, there will be a welcoming ceremony for new students at the school's multipurpose building or auditorium building. This year, WW-014 High School received 210 new students. The school's auditorium building was filled with new students fifteen minutes before the welcoming ceremony began.
Jono is seated in a row of chairs that are relatively far from the stage, which is a row of chairs relative to the back. He is currently wearing a school uniform consisting of a white shirt and light grey pants. He also wears a grey-white school cap and a special dark grey tie for high school students. Not all students wear caps and ties because this is not mandatory, such as wearing a high school uniform consisting of a white shirt and light grey pants.
Jono is also carrying a medium-sized light brown daypack made of relatively soft material. He wears gray running shoes with a white soles. On the top of Jono's palms, there is a patch of square wound tape that he uses to cover a kind of ape-shaped tattoo, which is the source of his gravitational field skill that makes him an element controller.
"They accept many new students at this school," Jono said in his mind. He looked around, and he noticed many students who seemed to have a higher power level than him.
"There are so many talented people here, even though this is just a school in the outer area," he muttered to himself. Schools in the outer area are more likely to accept exiles from inner area schools.
Many students will enroll or choose schools in inner area or central area schools as their first choice. However, many talented individuals who live in outer areas, such as Jono, prefer schools that are close to where they live, even though he is not a particularly gifted individual.
Jono could have applied to a high school in the inner area, but he chose one in the outer area because it was close to where he lived. Each school also has a maximum quota for each student's domicile that they accept.
For example, a high school in an inner area has a quota of only 20% of admitted students from an outer area. The student domicile quota has been determined by the Ministry of Education of the Witwur province.
However, Jono was taken aback by the number of new students admitted to this high school. Many of the new students accepted at this school, according to him, have exceptional talent.
"If there are a lot of talented students in this school, what about the inner area?" Jono wondered as he observed some new students who piqued his interest.
Some students seem to have different appearances, unlike Jono, and some students look eccentric in their appearance, wearing additional attributes that are very distracting. He actually wants to bring his Gravat sword, because usually when he leaves the apartment, he will bring his Gravat sword as a form of light training. But the rules in high schools are that students are prohibited from carrying personal weapons from outside.
"This way, I have to find other ways to keep practicing even though I'm at school." Jono pondered many things and began to make plans for the future.
He realized that if he didn't keep practicing, he would have difficulty taking the university entrance exam to enter a favorite university or academy in the future.
Jono's real rivals are not only high school geniuses but heirs and prodigies from certain families, big companies, and organizations that are scattered all over the city or even from outside West Witwur City.
Not long after, the time was shown at eight in the morning sharp. The welcoming ceremony for new students will be simple and short. At this event, new students will only listen to speeches from the principal, teacher representatives, the current student council president, and the representatives of new students.
The principal of this high school is an elderly man who has short hair, eyebrows, a mustache, and a thin beard that has turned white. He has a height of about 175 centimeters and shoulders that are quite wide and look sturdy.
"Welcome, all new students."
"I hope you always have a nice day at school here....," said the principal when he delivered his greetings to the new students.
The principal observed the enthusiastic new students on the first day of school. Nodding with a big smile, the principal seemed satisfied with this year's new students.
The principal's speech was short and finished in just three minutes. After the welcoming speech from the principal was finished, speeches from representatives of teachers and school employees followed it.
A middle-aged woman who had shoulder-length black hair represented the representatives of teachers and school employees. This woman has a height of about 170 cm, a very ideal body shape, and a beautiful face.
"On behalf of the teachers and school employees, I would like to welcome the great new students this year...." The essence of this middle-aged woman's welcoming speech was the same as the principal. The next welcoming speech is from the current student council president.
The current student council president is a beautiful-looking teenage girl who is currently a third-year student. This girl is slightly taller compared to Jono. This girl has long wavy black hair.
After the greeting from the student council president, which was continued by the new student representatives. There were two representatives of this year's new students.
Two teenagers, a girl, and a boy gave speeches as the representatives of new students. They are both the best freshmen, and, of course, they are in class [1-A], which is reserved for the best new students. The young girls have [S] aptitude, while the boys have [A] aptitude.
Out of about 210 new students, there is only one person who has [S] aptitude at this school. This shows how rare it is for someone to have [S] aptitude. Maybe in the entire city of West Witwur, there are fewer than twenty teenagers aged around fourteen years who have [S] aptitude.
Following the speeches by the student council president and the two new student representatives, the next event was a presentation on the school's environment and facilities. The entire welcoming ceremony lasted two hours.
After the welcoming ceremony, all new students were directed to their respective classes. Then, Jono and several other students were directed to the class [D] building. There are ten main buildings at this high school.
Seven of the ten buildings are buildings that represent the various classes, from [A] to [G]. This seven-story building has a simple architecture, similar to that of the ancient era but with a modern touch.
One of the other three other buildings is a five-story-tall structure for the principal, teachers, and the entire school's academic community. The other two buildings are the library, which is three stories tall, and the auditorium, which is two stories tall and was used to welcome new students.
