Chapter 23 - Giant Puppet

When everything was ready, Jono began killing the beasts one by one and letting his cat puppet absorb the carcasses of the beasts. Of the five beasts that he has prepared for his cat puppet, his cat puppet can absorb two of the five beasts. He used the other three beasts to slightly increase the accumulation of magic energy in his body.

Two beasts that Jono's cat puppet can absorb are beasts that have a darkness element type and a space element type. He is delighted with this result.

Based on these results, it is most likely that what Jono predicted was right. The type of element that the puppet can absorb for a second evolution or awaken the puppet's super ability is related to the type of bamen used during the manufacturing process.

Based on these results, in the future, Jono can estimate what type of beast his puppet needs to awaken its super ability. This discovery will make him more effective in the future when his power level advances to a higher stage.

Of the five beasts prepared for his cat puppet, three became Jono's body nutrition by absorbing the beast's magic energy. After obtaining the results of his experiments, a plan to awaken the super ability of his cat puppet was formed.

But he was not in a hurry to realize this plan; there was another plan he wanted to accomplish first. The plan was to increase the power level of the ape puppet and butterfly puppet.

After conducting an experiment to check the type of beast needed by his cat puppet, Jono didn't know what to do anymore. He didn't plan to train anymore for now, but he planned to train again at night.

From today, he will train systematically only from seven to ten in the morning and seven to ten at night. Apart from that time, he will use it to rest or increase the level of the puppet's power level and awaken the puppet's super ability.

Confused and not knowing what to do, Jono went to his room to take a nap. While walking to the room, Jono controlled the three puppets to be placed in certain places in the corners of his room.

After seeing that the puppet was exactly where he wanted, he smiled and immediately lay down. "Very satisfying," he whispered before falling asleep with a little smile.

...

The next day, Jono purchased four first-stage, one second-stage, and many second-stage beasts that have the element type of gravity. Today, he plans to raise the power level of his ape puppet.

Jono receives some additional memory fragments or some enlightenment regarding his super ability after several days of intense training and increasing his level of mastery of his super ability. These memory fragments relate to how to increase the puppet's power level.

As Jono had predicted, in order to increase the power level of his puppet, he had to allow his puppet to absorb beasts with the same power level as the puppet's. The more beasts that were absorbed, the faster the puppet's power level rose.

Once the puppet's power level had reached the peak limit, the only way to break through and advance to a higher stage was to absorb a beast that had a power level one level above the puppet's power level. With this, it has completed the first and second steps. The first was to raise the puppet's power level to the peak limit, and the second was to absorb a beast one level above the puppet's level to break through.

After these two steps are successful, the next step is to add higher quality bamens to be absorbed into the puppet's body. Jono does not know if there are further conditions or specifications that must be met in this third step. For now, that was all he got from his enlightenment.

Based on Jono's calculations, his ape puppet required at least two or three beasts to reach the peak or maximum strength of its current power level. He purchased four first-stage beasts just in case two beasts weren't enough.

The four beasts of the first stage are the same beast. The beast's name was Fat Gray Sparrow. Like its name, this beast is in the form of a sparrow who has a fat body and predominantly gray fur, except for its white head feathers.

The last beast, which appears in the second-stage power level, is the Stone Monitor Lizard. This lizard-shaped beast has a length of about forty centimeters. This lizard has a dark brown body with green stripes on its head.

After confirming the completeness of the materials to increase the level of the beast's strength, Jono began to kill the beasts one by one. He controlled his ape puppet to walk toward the carcasses of the beasts.

The ape puppet began to absorb the four first-stage beast carcasses one by one. As soon as the ape puppet finished absorbing the third beast with the power level of the first stage, the ape puppet reached its maximum point despite not absorbing the last beast's carcass.

Jono then absorbed the last of the beast's magic energy for himself. The magic energy of a beast's carcass with a first-stage power level wasn't very flavorful to him. The magic energy from the carcass of the beast circulated throughout his body with his breathing technique. Magic energy at that level only added a little strength to his physical body and slightly enriched his accumulated magic energy.

After a short break, Jono proceeded to the next step. Then he killed a second-stage beast that was a lizard and controlled his ape puppet to absorb the lizard's carcass.

After the ape puppet absorbs the second stage beast, the ape puppet begins to shrink and all parts of its body begin to glow. A few minutes later, the ape puppet transformed into a round shape like a ball that was slightly luminous.

The last step was to control his super ability to influence the bamens he had prepared earlier to be absorbed by his ape puppet, which was currently in the form of a slightly glowing ball. These bamens are the second stage of bamens, which is the last requirement so that the puppet can advance to the second stage.

Jono then directed some second-stage bamens towards the ball of light. As he estimates, the ape puppet can absorb only the bamen with the element type of gravity. Then the ape puppet in the shape of a ball of light began to absorb the bamen that he had given it, one by one.

Every time Jono gave bamen to the puppet-like ball that has the appearance of a sphere of light, it remained the same size at first, but after the 43rd bamen, the size of the ball of light started to change a little. With this, he speculated that the number of bamen he added would increase the size of the puppet.

The number of initial bamens he used to make his ape puppet was 42 first-stage bamens, and to increase its power level, it would likely require 42 second-stage bamens. However, it was discovered that the ape puppet, now in the shape of a ball of light, could absorb more of the bamens to grow in size.

"If this is the case, I can make a giant puppet!" This made Jono happy. He even imagined growing his puppet to the size of a horse so he could ride it.

"However, the larger the puppet, the more bamen is used, which will have an impact when it raises the power level, which will require a lot more bamen and beast," said Jono doubtfully.

His financial situation still constrains his wild imagination. He hypothesized that the larger the puppet's body, the more beasts were required to increase the puppet's power level.

"For now, the large size is not really important to me."

"After all, I only bought about fifty gravity-type bamens." Jono gave all the gravity-type bamens he purchased today, and his spherical ape puppet absorbed them all. When he touched the round-shaped ape puppet, it felt exactly the same as when he first made the puppet.

After that, Jono attempted to reshape his ape puppet in the same way he did the first time he made it. Jono tries to change the shape of the puppet into another form that was previously an ape puppet.

After trying several times, Jono was able to conclude some important points. The important point is that, at this stage, he can slightly alter the appearance of his puppet. He thought he could change the shape of his puppet into another beast's form, but apparently, he can't. Although he can slightly alter the appearance of his ape, there are certain rules that he must obey. Even so, he is still happy with all of this. At least he understood how to increase the power level of his ape puppet.

A few moments later, his ape puppet appeared in front of him again. There is a slight difference seen in the ape puppet, especially in the color of the furs. He also slightly altered the shape of its head, making it appear chubbier.

This was an interesting surprise for Jono, and it made him very happy. Now his ape puppet looks slightly larger than the previous one. Currently, the ape puppet's height is about forty centimeters tall, and it is still shaped like a mix between an ape and an orangutan, with black fur on its entire body and dark brown on its both legs and hands.
