Chapter 16 - Seven Beasts

Jono then began to divide the bamens he had purchased into two groups: those with first-stage quality and those with second-stage quality. This time, he will only use the second stage bamens because he felt he could use a higher level bamen after advancing to the first stage of the first phase.

He recently purchased bamens that could only be obtained from beasts of specific element types. Without further ado, he even bought bamens with rare element types in rather large quantities.

Jono purchased twenty-five bamens of the darkness element type, ten pieces of the space element type, and five pieces of the water element type for the second stage of quality. The five bamens of the water element type were only to fulfill the items he bought.

The element of darkness is rather rare, but he can still obtain that many bamens. Similarly, for bamen with a space element type, this element type is rarer than bamen with a darkness element type.

Jono then divided the forty second-stage bamens into two groups. He plans to make two additional puppets for now.

The first bamen group consists of ten bamens with water and darkness element types. This first group consists of five water element type bamens and five darkness element type bamens.

The second bamen group consisted of thirty bamens, consisting of twenty bamens of the darkness element type and ten bamens of the space element type. He divides the two groups with these different numbers to see if the amount used will affect the final result of his super ability.

He then flowed magic energy together by activating his super ability on the ten bamens in the first group. The ten bamens began to melt and merge into one. Ten minutes later, the bamens clump into a ball as big as a baseball that can be easily formed.

"Is it because the amount of bamen is small, the shape is also small?" Jono questioned himself.

He then attempted to shape a fused bamen in the shape of a baseball ball into various shapes before deciding that the final shape of the puppet he created this time was shaped like a butterfly. The butterfly that he forms looks like a blue butterfly and has a pair of large, pointed wings. The Butterfly puppet is only less than ten centimeters long. On its head, there are two long, small antennae.

"The first attempt was successful; now we move on to the second attempt," Jono cheerfully stated.

He then gathered the second batch of bamen and used his super ability on them. The bunches of bamen started to fuse, just like in the first experiment, but this time the result was shaped like a volleyball.

"As I suspected, the size of the puppet formed is determined by the number of bamens," he exclaimed to himself.

He then reshaped the volleyball-shaped bamen, turning it into a cat. The cat puppet has a dark color almost all over its body, with white tips on the legs and tail, and the cat's face is dark gray.

Furthermore, he gradually connected his magical energy to the puppets until the first evolution occurred. If before the first evolution, the beast only resembled a rough puppet that could not be controlled like a puppet master, things were different after the first evolution. His beast puppet will look smoother and more like a real beast after the first evolution, and he will be able to control it.

"The next step is to absorb the magic energy and carcasses from the beasts in order to awaken its super abilities," he declared with a burning passion.

"My plan for tomorrow was to buy some beasts whose have various element types, so I can see which beast can be absorbed by my puppets; secondly, buy bamens for me to form them into basirs and then sell them back," he reminded himself, recalling what he required.

The carcass of the beast that his puppet can absorb must have the same element type as the element type or super ability that the puppet he creates will awaken. The bad news is that he has no control over which super ability his puppet will awaken; it's totally random. The only way out is to try to absorb beasts with different types of elements.

"The problem is that the fewer bamen I use, the smaller the puppet shape I make."

"The smaller the basir, the cheaper the price."

"The cheapest second stage of basic grade basir is worth 200 Rc; with 200 Rc, I can get around 15-20 second stage bamens." While Jono calculated the benefits and drawbacks of his plan, he waved his hands, implying that he was imagining some calculations.

"If I do the calculation, one second-stage small basir, which has a price of 200 Rc, will require around 3-5 second-stage bamen, which means I can make three basirs with a capital of 200 Rc."

"I can get a lot of profit if this plan works!" he thought with a hidden smile on his face.

"One of my strengths is that my super ability can make a basir without fail," he said with a grin.

He grinned broadly because, according to his calculations, he would get more than double the profit.

Jono then kept practicing until late at night. He was so enthusiastic about practicing that he even downloaded lots of videos of basic fighting moves and attempted to do them.

The next day, as usual, from seven to ten in the morning, Jono did his training session. He does three kinds of activities in these three hours: first; he trains his physical strength by exercising to the limit of his body, then doing breathing techniques until his stamina returns.

Second, he will practice his super ability by controlling puppets and using his puppet super ability until his magic energy runs out, at which point he will use the breathing technique to replenish his magic energy. Third, he practices swordsmanship and basic combat movements until his stamina is depleted. Then he repeats the breathing technique until his stamina is restored. He did all of this until ten in the morning.

After finishing his training session, Jono took a shower and made egg noodles for his late breakfast. He read some trending news before continuing his plan for today. Today's plans include shopping in the Commerce and Business Districts.

"It's time to spend money again," he said, mumbling as he came out of his apartment. He intended to purchase some beasts in order to figure out what kind of beasts his two new puppets required. He also intends to purchase some bamens, which he intends to use to create a small puppet that he will resell as a basir.

After arriving at the Commerce and Business District, Jono went straight to his regular shop. He spent nearly 10,000 Rc on seven second-stage beasts and about a hundred more second-stage bamens.

The seven beasts that he bought consisted of various beasts and had abilities with various element types. The first beast is the leaf snake. This snake has a length of about forty centimeters, is green in color, and has a leaf-shaped head.

The second beast is the otter. This beast has a brown color and a length of about thirty centimeters. The third beast is the red-tree squirrel. This squirrel measures approximately fifteen centimeters in length, is reddish-orange, and has thick tail fur.

The fourth beast is the koala. This beast has a height of about thirty-five centimeters, long nails, gray fur, and sleepy eyes. The fifth beast is the fire chicken. This chicken is about forty centimeters tall, has red and black feathers, and has a bright red comb.

The sixth beast is a soil bird. This bird has a plain brown color with black spots. This bird stands no more than ten centimeters tall. The last beast is the striped eel. This eel has a length of about thirty centimeters. This eel is grayish-black with white stripes that extend across its body.
