Six months later….
"Come on, mom! Let's go!" Alfred yelled, sitting at the bottom of the stairs of their house, waiting for his mom. They were getting ready to go shopping!
Alfred has been growing fast and has gotten way taller, about 4.9 inches tall, pretty tall for his age, considering children around his age are around 4.5 inches, so he's pretty tall for his age. It could be because of numerous things, genes, a large amount of mana, etc. He needed new clothes.
"Alright, alright, I'm coming," said his mom putting her black hair into a ponytail while walking down the stairs.
"Ready?" She asked. "Yep," Alfred replied, getting up and grabbing her hand as they walked out of the mansion, heading to the marketplace where all types of goods and other products are sold.
When they arrived at the marketplace, it was jam-packed with crowds of people walking past each other, stopping at stalls and shops buying goods.
Alfred got excited and ran from shop to shop dragging his mother behind him "oh, these look so good!" He said, looking at the chocolate-covered apples
"Haha, you have a good eye, kid!" The shop keeper said with a smile
"You want one?" Viola asked, and Alfred nodded his head rapidly. Viola gave the shopkeeper some Yul, and the shopkeeper handed them a chocolate-covered apple on a stick.
Alfred and his mom were walking stall to stall, buying whatever Alfred wanted while eating their apples. They were not a poor or rich family, but well off. His father ran a blacksmith shop, which was pretty popular, meaning they had no shortage of people who wanted the weapons they made as they were of good quality and reasonable price.
Alfred and his mother arrived at a clothing store and began their shopping. Viola asked the shopkeeper to fit Alfred in some nice clothes.
The shopkeeper measured his body from top to bottom, getting his perfect size. Alfred felt awkward with someone he didn't know touching his body. After they finished his measurements, they picked out a perfect Mini tux for him and a pair of classy glasses, making him look very cute. He needed the glasses, he didn't have the best vision ever since he was born, but he could still see well enough and sense his surroundings thanks to his talent with natural mana and mana. But he didn't know he was exceptional as his parents never told him, not wanting their kid to become like one of those arrogant nobles from other kingdoms.
(Picture him as a smaller version of the cover picture)
"Oh, my cute little boy! You look so smart!" His mother said as she grabbed his cheeks and adored him. Alfred felt awkward and embarrassed being smothered by his mother in public with people watching.
"Haha, you sure do have a cute boy. He's going to be a lady killer." The lovely store lady said
"Of course he is. He's my son, after all!" Viola said in a proud voice, and Alfred rolled his eyes.
"Alright, we'll take five pares of these clothes. Oh, and when can we come in to get the glasses?" She asked as Alfred's vision was not the best.
"Well, we're going to put the order in, and we already have his prescription, so it should take three days. So stop by in three days to pick them up." The shopkeeper said as they thanked her and walked out of the shop to continue their shopping session.
After walking for a while and getting ready to go home, something caught Alfred's eye in a stall. It was a sketchbook with colored pencils attached to it.
He walked up to the stall and picked it up, looking at it, somehow feeling familiar with it. "Do you want it?" His mother asked, and Alfred nodded. She gave the stall owner the money, and they continued their walk home.
After arriving home, Alfred sat in the courtyard, drawing on his sketchbook. After an hour of drawing, he made a beautiful flower, and he was honestly surprised with himself as he's never drawn anything before.
He ran to his mom to show off his drawing "mom, look what I drew!" He said, seeking attention from his mom. kk
(He's a child. They want attention)
When his mom saw the painting, she was expecting some doodle with random marks, but it was an actual good sketch with good detail of a flower in the courtyard, and she was shocked; she knew it was his first-time drawing something.
"Did you draw this?" She asked, and Alfred nodded proudly, taking a pose that shouted praise me more.
"Haha, my little genius looks like you have a talent for art!" Viola said as she picked up her son, giving him a big hug.
Viola was not stupid. She knew that this was very unusual for a child to be able to draw a good sketch of a flower on his first try, and on top of that, he learned things fast and had two magic elements. But all she could come up with was that her son was a genius, and she would love him as much as she could because of that. Even if he weren't a genius or became someone who did evil, she would love him all the same—a sort of unconditional love only a mother could have.
