Chapter 2 - ♤Chapter Two♤

I see Savanna sitting with a girl who has short brown hair. Katie starts running to the two and Jack and I reluctantly follow. Savanna smiles when she sees us and goes through our names for Luete to refresh her memory.  Luete says hello after Jack and Katie leave to get lunch. I waited for them to come back. Savanna and Luete talked and I didn't want to barge in.

When Katie and Jack came back we started talking about a movie we all watched.

"I watched that movie, the best character is Hanna," Luete smiled awkwardly.

I nodded, "You can say that again. I like Lurea more though."

Katie gasped a little bit and whispered something into Jack's ear.

"That movie had me hooked from the first time I watched it," I added.

Luete and I talked about the movie for the rest of lunch and even the next day's lunch. Luete decided to sit with us almost everyday that week which made me very happy. Even though Katie and Jack watched the movie they wouldn't talk about it the way Luete did. When we talked I felt like we were in a cheesy story.

Luete and I walked to my locker talking about the country Haiti. In our global studies class we have to research a country and present it. She was doing Haiti and I was doing Finland. I was honestly really disappointed that I wasn't in her class because I would love to hear her presentation. She only told me a little bit about Haiti but it already got me hooked.

Maybe it was the way she went about telling me about it? It sounded like a lovely place with nice people but it had lots of bad luck.

She walked me to my class, English, and waved me goodbye. Too bad Katie was already there to see it. She walked up to me with a somewhat surprised look on her face.

"Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Hold your horses. Did I just see what I thought I saw?" Katie almost yelled. "Luete walked you to class. You're Ms. 'I don't need more friends, I have enough'."

"We were just talking. Her country is super interesting," I reply with a slight smile tugging on my lips.

Katie frowned, "You're pulling on my leg. That's nuts. You're crazy thinking that I won't see that you made a friend."

I pout and look down to my feet as a joke. The bell rings and I hold my breath as I get my things from my backpack. Mrs. Jovean starts calling out names of the people she doesn't see in the class and marking who's here on the computer. I look at Katie, who already has her hood up and head down, and let out a small sigh.

It's bad enough I think of Luete as a friend but to make matters worse Katie knows.

Today was a day to work on our assignments in English so I didn't have much to do. I really just plugged in my basic white earbuds and picked a random playlist from youtube. I mean the songs weren't bad, I just wouldn't listen to them in my free time. English just passed by rather slowly but I found the bell

delightful for the third time this year.

In science we had to do a small lab experiment. It was measuring atmospheric pressure just because our teacher wanted us to have a small break. I sat at a lab with Jake and he lit the candle.

"So far so good. Now put that on the candle asap." he mumbled before blowing out the match.

I put the glass thing that I never remember the name of on top of the candle. The two of us watched the dyed blue water rise inside the thing I never remember the name of. Jack grabbed the black marker and drew a little line on where the water stopped.

Jack wrote the numbers on the piece of paper we got from the science teacher, Mr. Tyup, at the beginning of class. I can write but spelling isn't my strength so Jack normally writes for our group.

We finished up everything and I couldn't wait for lunch due to the fact Luete will sit at our table again. I found the movie I've been looking for four months ago and I can't wait to tell her about it. I am rather fond of that movie but I've never met anyone else (that isn't in my family) that even heard of that movie. Jack and I went to talk and I told him about the movie. I rambled about it until the bell rang.

I heard him mumble something on his way out of the door but I couldn't understand the words he said.

I quickly threw my bag in my locker, grabbed my lunch and rushed to get to the cafeteria before the crowd of kids. When I sat down people started pouring in. After Luete sits down by me I see Katie and Jack talking and walking over. I gave a small wave to them before Luete and I started talking.

"I'm slightly scared for the school play in two weeks. I'm not one of the main characters but I'm the main character's best friend," Luete chuckled.

I didn't know Luete was going to be in the school play. I only worked on the sets in another room and not in the gym. It also runs a little later so I hardly run-into anyone in the play.

I smile, making some of my teeth show, "Well, break a leg. I know you'll be great. Besides Jack and Katie are in the play too. I just work on the sets."

She smiled back at me, "Thanks, if you go I won't be as petrified."

I nod to her, still smiling, and I bite my PB & J sandwich.
