The situation gets more intense than usual. That was surprise attacked and Arthur aware they wouldn't save until midnight. He was furious because there's nobody aware that they under attack. It had made him realized that his biggest fear had became a real one. He was so scare if sometimes or someday this kind of thing when their land didn't have a guard and less of protection and it would risk his people in Reverie.
They waited until midnight and Ellia watched the neighborhood, even there's no light or lamp she could see just like there's a sunlight in there. That's why she's the only person who could see arrow flies towards them clearly and precisely. After she's made sure that everything's fine, Ellia put her finger up for several minute. It her unique way to find out if their attacker was still out there, she would put her finger and waited for another attack. If nothing happened to her finger, she could make sure that the situation was totally safe. Turned out she's right again, nothing happens with her finger and no more arrow flies towards them.
Ellia gave Arthur a sign to tell him that everything is save. Johnathan also paid attention to her sign, his sight came to the last arrow with a paper on it. He grabbed that arrow straight away meanwhile Arthur stood up and looked over the window and make sure there's nothing happened again.
Now the three of them could walked freely because the attacker was no longer there. Arthur grabbed a bottle of whisky there and sat in the bar counter. Ellia also do the same things and sat down in the ground. Johnathan showed them the arrow, "Do you see in the tip of this arrow?"
Both of them looked each other after John said that. Then they looked it very seriously, there was liquid around it. "It's poison and it really different from the poison that I know. I'm very sure this isn't regular poison."
Arthur took another sip from the bottle to make his relieve the burden on his head, "Fuck, everything's happen too fast. John gave the arrow to Kenric. We'll see the poison the use to kill us. Now –" Arthur stood up and took the paper that stuck on the arrow, he knew it contain some message from his enemy. He was curious to find out who's the one who wanted to kill him. "—let's see what inside this fuckin paper!"
Arthur opened the paper slowly, and there's an old ink and one-line word. "Reverie will be buried beneath the white land even the howling of the wolf can't be hear." Arthur read it out loud, but he still couldn't find out what the meaning by it. It's to poetic because someone tried to kill him. The underline that he could understand just someone tried to mess with him and he wouldn't let it happen to him or his people in Reverie.
"What the hell he trying to say?" Johnathan was the one who speak first. He didn't even understand the meaning behind it. "I don't know who these bastards that tried to kill us while we drinking, but I can feel some terrible shit will happen soon," He looked at Arthur eyes, inside Johnathan eyes there's deep meaning behind it. He didn't understand what happened but his eyes showed something terrible with happen. Just like the magic crystal, Arthur could see the future of this empire in Johnathan eyes. His feeling never gets wrong and now it's happening again, Arthur saw the future of his friends. He saw that it could be the end of the line but he denied it. He didn't say anything while looking at Johnathan eyes. He felt like his bad thought should stay with him and not anyone else.
"Yeah, we should move fast." Arthur nodded to both of them and grab his sword. "I'll check something before we move. John, check Kenric and Max, we don't know if they're okay," John nodded his head and put his sword close to his body. He put his coat and armor than walked out in the cold winter to make sure they're okay.
"Okay, now I'll check something and back to my father place." He talked to Ellia while she was mopping the floor and clean up the mess that happen in her bar. "You sure you'll be okay?" Arthur asked her and she also looked at him with uncertain feeling. She didn't know if she'll okay alone but she knew that she took care of herself. "I think so," her voice lower than usual and her sight came back to the floor while tried to fix the mess in her own bar.
Arthur felt something different with her but he knew she'll be okay. "Okay, I'll go then." He walked out from her bar with uneasy feeling, he felt something wasn't right but he goes on still. He put his coat to make him able walked out under the snow rain and the midnight temperature. Ellia still looked him from behind and she also had bad feeling about Arthur. She walked him disappear in the dark of the night and that's the feeling that she didn't want to feel every day, the feeling of losing someone that she loved.
He didn't walk to his own home but goes far away from it. Arthur walked to the Maria wall, he walked down there to make sure and analyze what happened there. He always thought this would be happened because of the less protection in the Maria wall.
'I always thought it would be this kind of situation, Fuck!' Arthur knew that it would turn that way but he didn't realize it would happen this fast. 'Hope it won't be that bad. It will become a disaster, or not? Shit my brain can't thinking that much.' He rushed to the Maria wall to checked people who guarded that place.
He saw that big and long wall, Arthur couldn't find anyone from the outside. He took a short way by climb through that wall. He gifted by a lot of skill and he's one of the people who could climb and do parkour in the high place.
He climbed and still nobody there, he just saw lamp in the corner and that's it. Arthur walked to seek the guardian of that wall, he walked slowly and pay a lot of attention in every corner. 'Nothing strange here, it just the people are fewer than it should have. This big wall can't be hold by these few mans, it should have a lot people in here.'
There's a torch in the corner and Arthur took it, he continued his walk and he smell something strange, 'What is this smell?' He stunned for a second and tried to think about it. It wasn't a strange smell because he familiar with it. 'Isn't its blood? But why there's a blood in here? Where do it come from?'
That smell didn't come from far away then Arthur continued his path and he saw there's a blood in the edge of the wall. He put his torch closer to make sure he saw the right thing, he looked it very closely. 'This is it!' Now he shocked that happened and what's going on there's so much happening there. He looked down and he barely could see under the wall. 'If people get killed up here, that dead body must be thrown down there.'
He thought the body should be down there but again, there's no light below. It wasn't Reverie territory again so there's nothing except forest and snow pouring down there. 'I should come down there to make sure it was a dead body. But who killed? Guard? And who killed them? The same person who attacked us in the bar?' In his head so many questions that need answers right away. 'It could only be answered one by one but I'm sure I should check this one.'
"My lord?" Arthur heard someone speak behind him and he reflect to pulled out his sword and luckily Arthur could recognize that it was his guard and he could stop his sword from swing to his head. If he didn't recognize it, Arthur would send him to heaven. The tip of the sword stopped right in front of his head and the guard was trembling when saw Arthur with cold face and deadly eyes. He stamped and fall down because of it.
"Oh, gosh I'm sorry. Why you surprise me like that? Jezz…" He putted back his sword, "I'm so sorry, come here." Arthur gave him his hand to help the guard stood up again.
"If I didn't recognize you, my sword would slice your head in two." He giggled to calm down the tension there but it felt like the guard didn't enjoy it.
"So, w-what make you go up here my lord?" There's still fear in his words.
"I just want to check up something? By the way, come here." Arthur showed him the blood in the floor, "Do you know anything about it?"
"Blood!?" the guard seemed to surprise because he didn't know anything about it. Arthur saw his reaction and tried to seek the information deeper and deeper again. 'He doesn't know huh? So, what happened in this guard post? I should ask him few questions before goes all the way down there.'
