Before Nate and his horde decided to confront the group of militants when they were back in the prison base. It came as a surprise to them when one of the undead birds reported back with clear footage of the militants approaching.
What surprised them was the number of vehicles they were approaching with.
"Thirty?... These people truly underestimated our capability," Lyon said on seeing this.
However, Nate knows that he shouldn't be rejoicing yet because they are also a probability of all the men in the armoured vehicle being superhumans. A fight with a supernatural being wouldn't go unnoticed.
Of course, Nate wasn't worried whether they can handle the problem, rather, what he was worried about was the prison base to notice about this fight.
Because of this, that day, they have everyone on the base stay inside not even allowing them to go out and hunt for harvest food.
Food is no longer a problem for the base to begin with. After Nate returned, he taught the base how to prepare beast meat as a meal. And to the fact that his horde has slayed multiple beasts to clear the city, the base could be considered as a meat house because they have close to an endless amount of beast meat in the store.
In the end, Nate have decide they should strike the militants when they were still a few miles away from them.
However, in the end, the reward Nate desired was not granted and this could only mean one thing, the quest was still on and yet to be completed.
At first, Nate was puzzled by this outcome because to him, he and his horde had successfully eliminated the threat but the system said otherwise.
After thinking about it, Nate recalled Zak threatening him with his backup that he called. 'It made sense if so because once the backup arrives and discovered what happened here, they will still come after me,' Nate thought. 'I was still wondering how a diamond medal quest could be so easy to complete,' Nate thought.
It did not take long for his horde to return with all the bodies of those that are dead and those who were struggling to stay alive.
"Heal the ones still alive," Nate commanded Lynn.
The former didn't hesitate to use her power on those still alive, soon, their body was healed. Those with missing limbs such as hand and legs, even some has their entire waist torn off but they all regenerate another one.
Rather than being grateful to Lynn, they were all shocked and afraid of the people before them the more.
"What next?" Lyon asked.
"Take them back to the base, interrogate them, and once they give a satisfying answer, let them go but if they lie, kill them," Nate said.
"Why does it sound like you are not planning to come back with us?" Twain asked. Indeed everyone noticed as Nate instructed Lyon on what to do.
"I have something important to do," Nate said and placed his hand on one of the dead bodies and used his death control.
The total number of the militants were about a hundred, out of this, they were only about five survivors and then over fifty dead bodies with their head still intact.
One should know that Nate could only use his death control power only on creatures whose brains are still intact, this was even one of the main reasons he can not death control another zombie because one is that this creature he has to death control must already be dead already and based on the nature of zombie, you can't kill one without damaging its head.
The problem here is that most people that died in this fight were killed by Twain's bullet on the head or that were burned to ashes.
Right now, the people Nate was death controlling were those that died in the hands of Lyons spikes or by the shock wave of the explosion.
Luckily for Nate, they have little to no injury on their body and it was perfect for Nate. After this, Nate still have one problem at hand and that was the lesser wights eyes.
Their eye was now white with no single sign of their eyeball. "I will be needing your help for this Mark,"
Meanwhile, by now, V, and his friends came out towards Nate. "We didn't see anyone, did you guys manage to clear them out?" V asked.
"Ahh... You can simply say that we overestimated their power, we all were not even able to show our full strength and they were all dead," Lyon explained.
Seeing, V, Nate's face frowned, and looked at Lyon. "We already know what you are," Shad was the one that spoke.
"Ohhh... Really?" Nate said. Honestly, Nate only remembered telling V their true identity and when healing this, he glanced at him oddly.
"Don't look at me, I kept my promise, I didn't tell anyone about your guy's secret," V said raising his hands.
"We figured it out ourselves," Tony said. "When I became an altered human, my hearing sense became sharp and so as my sense of smell. I was able to tell that you guys were not normal," Tony said.
"as for me, I was only able to tell that the temperature in their body was not proper. I initially thought it was the same for all superhumans but after more superhumans appeared in the base, I know that was not the case. I went ahead to explain what I discovered to Ron," Shad explained.
"Is that it?" Nate said almost muttering to himself.
"Don't worry, this is a secret to us, no one else knows about this, not even My wife," V explained.
Honestly, the fact that a human being knows that he is a zombie and yet was not among his initiated horde or even a pledged member bordered Nate so much but he has to just overlook it for now.
"If that's so, we have no problem then," Nate said as he led his lesser wight inside the mothership where Mark will have to fix an eyeball for them.
Meanwhile, this was happening, Bull and the rest of the zombie's horde gathered to stick the remaining flesh of the other bodies.
Meanwhile, Nate inside the mothership truck was thinking of something as Mark was making a transparent glass with an eyeball drawing on it. The glass was elastic and couldn't be broken easily. Once one of the plastics is done, he will fix it in the lesser zombie eye.
This glass was only there to make the lesser zombie look more human than a zombie.
"Mark, I don't know how this will sound but, I think we're should start thinking of a way to blend ourselves with superhuman without getting discovered," Nate suggested.
"No worries about that, I will see what I can do about that," Mark said.
Nate trusted Mark with this task. Their identity was slowly licking and honestly, Nate do not know what will happen if the people of the prison base get to know that it was a zombie that was leading them all along.
The majority of what Nate thought their reaction will be is none other than fleeing his territory that instant.
Soon, Mark was done fixing the glass on the lesser zombie's eye and Nate was ready to carry out his plan.
Just as Nate was thinking of this, the sound of a chopper flying towards their direction could be heard... The backup Zak was talking about has arrived.
