Chereads / My Zombie Game / Chapter 69 - Passing out for a week.

Chapter 69 - Passing out for a week.

Slowly, his eyes started open as he struggled to adjust to the brightness from the ray of light hitting him on the eye.

"What...happ...ed?"

Nate felt strong dizziness hitting him on his head almost pulling him down once again. But not long after, it was all clear as his zombie nature started to kick in. Immunity to pain and so on.

And he got some time to look around his surroundings. He found out that he was still inside the office but there were some changes, like the door that had been fixed back to its original post and then the bed he was laying on which was not there before he lost consciousness.

Looking at the pet in question, Nate could see a human figure dent on it which signifies that he has been laying on it for a long time now. Just then, sometimes started to appear in front of Nate.

'What the hell is this,'

Nate's mouth was left wide open as he looked at the holographic projection in front of him.

"All this for me?" He muttered.

Before he could do anything further, the door of the room opened Lyon and Jim stepped into the room.

"Finally...you wake up..." Lyon said as he approached Nate.

Nate was not sure of what he just heard. 'Did Lyon just sit out in relief?', regardless, Nate did not think too much about it and asked.

"How long have I been out?"

Hearing this question, Lyon wanted to lie but someone beside him beat him on that.

"For a week, " Jim said.

"What!"

"A week?!" Nate shouted out of shock.

"I thought I told you not to tell him!" Lyon turned and looked at Jim furiously.

"It...it wasn't my fault, I just found myself saying it" Jim replied surprised on his own at how he just answered Nate's question like the latter was pointing a gun at his head while asking.

"Yeah... Then I was the one that said it right?" Was angry at Jim but he knew that it wasn't the latter's fault, Lyon did not know much about the initiator but he knew that anyone under Nate's initiator's skill would find it hard to betray the former, even if he could feel something trying to stop him from lying.

Meanwhile, Nate, who just got the news, was worried. "Peter!"

He got up that instant and sprinted toward the door before Lyon, who was pretty fast himself, could do anything.

'I knew it, he had gone under some type of upgrading, if not he wouldn't be that fast to outrun me just like that,' Lyon thought while he followed after Nate.

Back when Nate fell unconscious, Lyon was the most worried about Nate's condition but his brain helped him to recall that an event like this had once happened which was back when Peter underwent his first evolution as a zombie.

He had hoped and prayed for that to be the case, but when time kept going on as seconds turned into minutes minutes turned into hours hours turned into days, and days turned into a week, and luckily for him, it ended on the next week if not he would have still been a watch guard for Nate.

The worst thing about watching over Nate's condition throughout all those days was that his heart was not beating because he is a zombie and for that was an undead that does not have a heartbeat, if not, Lyon would have known when he should be getting hope and they are also the fact that drug dose does not work on zombies.

"Peter!" Nate shouted the moment he stepped foot into the working area. Meanwhile, Peter and Scarlett were busy feasting on fresh meat that still had some particles of blood on it.

The two immediately turned their heads to look at Nate who signed upon seeing them not Scarlet but Peter in particular.

"Thank goodness you are still alive and kicking," Nate mumbled as he approached Peter but this time was not in a rush.

[Name = Peter]

[Age = 16]

[Race = undead]

[Class = zombie horde]

[Level = 7]

[Attributes]

[Strength = 9]

[Agility = 9]

[Intelligence = 9]

[Endurance= 2]

[HP = 115/115]

Nate quickly checked Peter's status to see his condition and the latter was fine, they were even a level-up in his status and another attribute status that was not even there before was now showing in his status.

'Did something happen when I was out?' Nate wondered...

"You should have asked about them first before suddenly bursting out, I almost thought that what happened to Peter after upgrading before was happening to you," Lyon said as he appeared from behind.

'How did he know I upgraded?' Nate marveled at how Lyon knew that he had just upgraded, however, this did not stop him from apologizing. "Sorry for that," he said...

"Whatever, but did you think I can't take good care of your zombie brother if you happen to be out?" Lyon asked though he wasn't expecting any answers.

"You did a good job by taking care of them, my brother especially," Nate replied. Lyon lifted his face with pride.

"But I found out that his slightly stronger than before so this means something happened when I was out"

Hearing this lion's facial expression changes that instant. This also increased Nate's doubt and he asked.

"What happened here when I was out?"

"His reinforcement troops came looking for him but we dealt with them straight away with little to no effort" Once again, Jim answered the question.

This made Lyon face-palm himself as he sighed in disappointment.

Meanwhile, Nate's face frowned upon hearing this. "You mean the rest of his troops right?" Nate asked.

At this point, Lyon had no other thing to hold back as he started explaining.

"It turned out that the person we have here is not even the mean boss of the troops that attacked us, however though, the mean boss showed up, he managed to escape."

"However, you never told me that Jim was also a superhuman" Lyon said but Nate did not bother to explain so he got back to what he was saying at first.

"As for Peter, I don't know the reason why he joined the fight, I even thought back then that you might have waked up and given him instructions to carry out"

Upon hearing this, Nate understands a few things and one is that the Scarlet people had come looking for him, as for what for, it's still unknown. Another is that Jim might have helped out in the fight and used his superhuman form, then the last and the one that Nate was not expecting to hear was that Peter also joined the fight even without his command. This made Nate think about why the system sent him a message back then requesting his permission for Peter to fight back.

None of it was making sense to Nate so he decided to toss it aside and think about it later.

'Now let's know more about this new me' Nate muttered as he opened his system holographic interface.
