Chapter 58 - Curiosity kills the cat.

Nate was surprised that Jim had already known what the use of the crystal found in the dead beast's body could do.

To Nate, those crystals could serve for two things, one being to make a weapon that can give the wielder a boost in return. Another is that he could absorb the crystal and get a status point.

Jim, being a forger, had already forged a suitable weapon for himself with the crystal he had gotten so far, so right now, on his hand was a saw blade that wasn't held by his hand, but was like a glove.

The four zombies all came to him at once, but with just a swing of his arm, Jim sent their heads flying while moving further into the fuel station area.

Soon, they start their work by extracting the fuel from the tank that was dug into the ground. Transporting them was not a problem, because Jim had just gone and bought a pickup truck while Nate was transferring the fuel into a red barrel of about fifty Kg or something of that sort.

Soon, all the barrels were filled, and from the look of things, there were no longer any barrels left. With this though, Nate and Jim were left with another job of loading the barrel into the pickup.

It was hard though, but Nate with his super strength was able to make the job quite easy for Jim.

Soon, with their job done, the two hit the road once more time but this time they were in a pickup truck. The journey had been a long bit of a silent one, with none of the two saying a word to each other.

Eventually, they arrived back at Jim's workshop.

It was just an old house that looked like a warehouse, but the structure of the house was made of old chunks of zinc.

Hearing the sound of the car outside, Lyon, who was inside the warehouse sitting with his back leaning over a big pole behind him, stood up and started to do push ups non-stop.

"It's a good thing that you can't talk, if not, I'm sure that you would have to impregnate me'. Lyon thought while looking at Peter who had their pickaxe out but was facing the floor.

When leaving, Nate had assigned a command to Lyon not to stop training, though he could have also given Peter the assignment to make sure Lyon was training, when thinking about what might happen if Lyon was to resist Peter and the former ended up hitting him, he knows what will happen next with Peter and Lyon.

Kicking the workshop door open was Nate, carrying a barrel of fuel on his head as he entered the warehouse.

"You know what to do," said while looking at Lyon.

The latter already knew the meaning of what Nate said, so he got up and went straight to the fuel barrel.

From an angle, one might think that Nate was kind of unfair to Lyon, but the truth is that it was the latter who asked for it.

Lyon knows that he is lazy junk, though at a time he might speak with determination in his voice and even in his behavior. Give him a few moments after his decision, he would go back to being lazy shit, that's why he had told Nate to scold him for some certain decision he is taking.

Soon, all the barrel was offloaded from the truck, while Jim had directed it to be kept at a certain part of the room. This was so that it would be far away from the working axis of the workshop and to avoid an accident or fire mistakenly flicking into the barrel which would cause a huge disaster that might even claim their lives.

When all was done, Nate found out that they were able to get their hands on about twenty barrels of fuel, and from the calculation in his mind, he found out that this would be able to keep the workshop on light for about months. As for how many months, Nate was not a good mathematician to get such an answer.

Lyon was done with everything. They were presented with food that was useless to Nate and Peter, but he still played along and ate the food even though it did not show any changes in his body, on his own was only following orders from Nate in the first place. Nate couldn't have imagined what he would have done in a situation like this when Peters's intelligence was still low and the only command he obeyed was the function" Attack, Defense, and Retreat".

[Two days have passed since the host had eaten human flesh]

[Host his advice to do so quickly or else the host and his horde might go crazy]

It was barely a week since Nate started the game, judging by the game time, It was just a few days after being taken in by Jim did Nate discover that such a message does appear every two days of not eating anything.

Nate took a quick toe to check Peter's status.

[Name = Peter]

[Age = 16]

[Race = undead]

[Class = zombie horde]

[Level = 6]

[Attributes]

[Strength = 7]

[Agility = 7]

[Intelligence = 7]

[HP = 50/115]

Peter's status had increased by two again after defeating the mutated monkey. This had brought him an instant level-up with two attribute points that were distributed to all his statuses, but right now, this wasn't what Nate was looking for.

'Fifty!' Nate almost screamed out.

'This is pretty much too much. We still have a few more pieces left, but soon, it will all finish and we will be left with one option and that is to start looking for food.

Nate for a slight moment looked at Jim but he wiggled off the idea. Excluding the fact that Jim had once helped them, there was also another thing that Nate still needed Jim to do for him and that was to create a weapon for him. So at this moment, Nate thought it would be a waste to kill Jim just for food.

He still needs to find a way to solve the problem of food, but at this moment, he wiggled it off and started thinking about other things like how to get Lyon to start transforming at will.

"I and Peter will be going out to catch some fresh air" Nate excused himself from the dining and went out of the warehouse with Peter.

Meanwhile, Lyon already had an idea of what the two were going to do. As he didn't care and focused more on his food.

The moment Nate and Peter left the warehouse, Jim faced Lyon and asked.

"Your friends are too secretive, can you share with me some history about them?"

Hearing this, made Lyon almost vomit what he was eating. "Why would you ask such a question?" He asked back with slight trepidation in his tone.

"What... Is it an offense for one to know more about the people he is living with?" Jim said acting like it was nothing.

Lyon did not say anything further as he focused back on his food.

Meanwhile, Jim could not stop himself from looking in that particular direction Nate and Peter went through. ' I must see the root of this.

With that thought in mind, Jim also excused himself, Lyon wasn't suspicious of this because Jim had headed in another direction from Nate and Peter went through, but what he didn't know is that in the end, the warehouse was Jim's own, and he knows every loop of it.

Jim had changed direction and headed where Nate and Peter were supposed to be.
