Critical Stage

Cesare Caruso, a renowned actor and a global superstar, appeared to have it all—fame, fortune, and an impeccable reputation. Yet, hidden beneath the surface was a secret he had guarded for years—he was an Omega. That carefully guarded secret came crashing down in one fateful night, during a glamorous masquerade ball aboard a luxurious cruise ship. Overwhelmed by an unexpected heat cycle, Cesare loses control of himself, devoured by his own desires and falling into the arms of a mysterious Alpha—a reckless moment that changed everything. [Zahir al-Tamid. That’s my name.] To his shock, the Alpha was Zahir—a proud prince from an oil-rich kingdom and an unwelcome figure from Cesare’s past. Worse, that night left Cesare unexpectedly pregnant! Before Cesare could make sense of it all, Zahir made a grand entrance at Cesare’s mansion by helicopter, uninvited, catching the attention of major media outlets around the world, demanding a settlement claiming that Cesare shall be responsible for ‘imprinting’ a royal family like him! “...Seriously, it’s not as if I have a ludicrous $2 billion just lying around, you know.” “Thus, marry me, Cesare.” Pregnancy, imprinting, and a royal marriage proposal—showered by a series of unwanted events, Cesare is desperate to find a way to cut ties with Zahir. But Zahir, stubborn and relentless, has no plans to let go. PROLOGUE: WRITING A SET OF all possible character strings. All possible books would be contained in that. Most unfortunately though, there is no guarantee whatsoever you would be able to find within it the book you were hoping for. It could be you might find a string of characters saying, “This is the book you were hoping for.” Like right here, now. But of course, that is not the book you were hoping for. I haven’t seen her since then. I think she’s most likely dead. After all, it has been hundreds of years. But then again, I also think this. Noticing her as she gazes intently into the mirror, the room in disarray; it is clear that centuries have flowed by, or some such. And she, perhaps, has finished applying her makeup, and she is getting up and is going out to look for me. Her eyes show no sign of taking in the fact that the house has been completely changed, destroyed around her. The change was gradual, continuing, and even long ago she was not very good at things like that. As far as she is concerned, that is not the sort of thing one has to pay attention to. Not that she is aware, but it seems so obvious, she doesn’t need to care about it. Have we drowned, are we about to drown, are we already finished drowning, are we not yet drowning? We are in one of those situations. Ofcourse, it could be that we will never drown. But think about it. I mean, even fish can drown. I remember her saying meanly, “If that’s the case, you must be the one from the past.” It is true of course. Everybody comes out of the past; it’s not that I’m some guy who comes from some particular past. Even when that is pointed out, though, she shows no sign of backing down. “It’s not as if I came out of some bizarro past,” she said. That’s how she and I met. Writing it down this way, it doesn’t seem like anything at all is about to happen, right? Between her and me, I mean. As if something could ever really happen. As if something continues to happen that might ever make something else happen. I am repeating myself, but I haven’t seen her since then. She promised me, with a sweet smile, that I would never see her again. For the short time we were together, we tried to talk about things that really meant something to us. Around that time there were a lot of things that were all mixed up, and it was not easy to sort out what was really real. There might be a pebble over there, and when you took your eyes off it it turned into a frog, and when you took your eyes off it again it turned into a horsefly. The horsefly that used to be a frog remembered it used to be a frog and stuck out its tongue to try to eat a fly, and then remembered it used to be a pebble and stopped and crashed to the ground. With all this going on, it’s really important to know what’s really real and what’s not. “Once upon a time, somewhere, there lived a boy and a girl.” “Once upon a time, somewhere, there lived boys and girls.” “Once upon a time, somewhere, there lived no boy and no girl.” “Once upon a time…lived.” “Lived.” “Once upon a time.” From beginning to end, we carried on this back-and-forth process. For example, in this dialogue, we were somehow finally mutually able to comeup with this kind of compromise statement: “Once upon a time, somewhere, there lived a boy and a girl. There may have been lots of boys, and there may have been lots of girls. There may have been no boys at all, and there may have been no girls at all. There may even have been no one at all. At any rate there is little chance there were equal numbers of each. That is unless there had never been anybody at all anyway.” That was our first meeting, she and I, and of course it meant we would never see each other again. I was making my way in the direction she had come from, and she was headed in the direction I had come from, and this is a somewhat important point; you must realize this walking had to be,

Fragments of Me

Here's a detailed synopsis for "Fragments of Me" that highlights the key plot points, character arcs, and the mystery/thriller elements while maintaining the emotional core of the romance. --- Title: Fragments of Me Genre: High School Romance with Mystery/Thriller Elements Word Count: 90,000 Synopsis: Seventeen-year-old Elena Aster wakes up in a hospital bed with no memory of who she is. The only fragments she clings to are fleeting images of a burning car, a woman’s terrified voice screaming, “Run, Elena,” and the lingering sense that something is terribly wrong. After a tragic car accident that claimed her parents' lives, Elena is taken in by her uncle, Damian Aster, a charismatic and influential businessman whose seemingly perfect family hides cracks beneath the surface. Damian’s wife is distant, her cousin Nate treats her with hostility, and only her other cousin, Lucas, offers a friendly face in an unfamiliar world. Starting over at Bellrose High, Elena struggles to fit in, haunted by fragmented flashbacks and the gnawing suspicion that her accident wasn’t just an accident. When she crosses paths with the rebellious and sharp-tongued Jaxon Rivers in an unconventional encounter, sparks fly—but not the romantic kind. Jaxon, a scholarship student from the wrong side of town, has his own reasons for distrusting the wealthy elite. His father, once an accountant at Aster PLC Ltd., mysteriously disappeared while investigating financial misconduct tied to the Aster family. Jaxon believes Damian holds the key to his father’s fate, but he can’t prove it—yet. Their worlds collide when Elena witnesses Jaxon in a brutal fight at school. Despite her initial disdain for him, she finds herself drawn into his dangerous orbit after saving his life. As Elena’s flashbacks grow more vivid, she and Jaxon form an uneasy alliance to uncover the truth behind her parents’ deaths, her lost memories, and the dark secrets entwining their families. Digging deeper, they discover Damian’s double life as the enigmatic "Orion Black," the mastermind behind an embezzlement scheme, corporate fraud, and something far darker. Evidence suggests Damian orchestrated the car accident to seize control of the Aster fortune, but his crimes go beyond greed. Jaxon’s investigation reveals that his father might still be alive—or worse, trapped in a fate more sinister than death. As Elena and Jaxon unravel the tangled web of lies, they face betrayals from those closest to them. Nate’s hostility masks deep-rooted jealousy and fear of losing his privileged status. Damian manipulates Elena’s fragile trust, gaslighting her into doubting her instincts. Even Jaxon’s motives are clouded by a thirst for revenge. Yet amidst the chaos, Elena and Jaxon’s reluctant partnership evolves into something more—a fierce, undeniable connection born from shared pain, vulnerability, and the hope of healing. With danger closing in, Elena must confront the horrifying truth: her memories were stolen, her life manipulated, and the people she thought she could trust are her greatest enemies. In a pulse-pounding climax, she faces Damian, armed not just with evidence of his crimes but with the strength she’s found within herself. The girl who woke up broken becomes the young woman who fights back. But victory comes at a cost. As secrets shatter and blood is spilled, Elena learns that love can be both her greatest weapon and her deepest wound. In the end, "Fragments of Me" isn’t just about uncovering the past—it’s about reclaiming identity, embracing vulnerability, and finding hope in the fragments left behind.
