Kai was not understanding anything Mia was saying. He couldn't pinpoint exactly where it was going wrong.
"What do you mean by you killing him?" Kai asked, not believing Mia's statement.
"You must be joking, right?" Kai couldn't fathom the idea of Mia actually killing someone.
There are certain things that are hard to believe, even with evidence. Doubt always lingers.
"Do I look like I'm joking?" Mia said, presenting something that shocked Kai.
It was an item that Kai had always seen Nate with.
After a moment of silence, Kai snapped out of his daze.
"What?"
"Why would you kill him?" Kai finally asked.
The item in Mia's hand undoubtedly belonged to Nate, something he always carried with him.
"Yes, it's the medal Nate won from the gaming competition that gave him the scholarship," Mia said, putting the medal back in his pocket.
"But why... why would you do that?"
"I know we bully him and hang out together, but did we really have to settle this by killing him?"
Although Kai and Nate didn't get along, he never wished death upon him.
"You act like you liked him," Mia said.
"How could I?"
"Anyway, how are you going to cover up our mess?" Kai asked.
If he was correct, the police were still investigating the matter. They hadn't made any significant progress and had no clue what had happened.
This was a major disaster, affecting many people, sidewalks, and neighbors.
"Do you mean my mess?" Mia said, an evil grin forming on his face.
Meanwhile, Kai's face turned pale.
"What are you talking about?"
"I didn't have anything to do with this, so keep my name out of it," Kai said, taking a step back.
"Come on, it was just a joke. I'm rich, cleaning up something like this is nothing," Mia said, crossing his left hand over Kai's neck.
"Sigh..."
"You got me there. I thought you weren't joking," Kai sighed in relief, but he failed to notice the murderous intent on Mia's face.
"Come with me, I have to show you something," Mia said, walking off into the distance.
Kai hesitated for a moment but eventually followed.
Soon, Kai found himself in a room that was completely empty except for one chair in the middle.
The sun was still shining, as it was only three in the afternoon.
Although it was still early, the room was dimly lit.
In the room, the person tied to the chair was the only noticeable thing, with his mouth gagged.
He had brown, flat hair and a slim body. His face was quite handsome, the type that any girl would die for.
Slowly, Kai's eyelids opened, and he realized he was in a familiar room.
"Moha..." Kai struggled to break free from the ropes that bound him to the chair.
Just as he was struggling, a ray of light shone above him, forcing him to close his eyes to adjust.
As he woke up in the dark room, Kai needed some time to adapt to the sudden light shining on his face, temporarily blinding him.
"Who are you?" Kai panicked, unable to see the person who had entered the room.
"Don't be afraid, Kai. It's just me, Mia," a familiar voice reassured him.
Kai felt a glimmer of hope, but it quickly faded as anger overwhelmed him.
"You motherfucker, how could you do this to me?" Kai shouted, his vision restored. He could now see that Mia wasn't alone in the room. Three other people stood behind him, dressed in black, intimidating outfits.
Their menacing appearance sent shivers down Kai's spine.
"Oh, sorry for the late introduction," Mia said.
"Kai, meet my gang," Mia gestured towards the triplets standing behind him.
"They're all triplets, and we'll be identical in the future."
Mia used their hair colors to differentiate between them.
"Why are you doing this? I thought we were friends," Kai couldn't believe his friend was treating him like this.
"We are friends, Kai, but your way of doing things is reckless. After being defeated by that low-life gamer, you didn't even try to improve yourself in the art of fighting. Are you going to remain weak forever?"
Kai was speechless.
"Get the game helmet," Mia commanded.
Kai noticed Mia giving orders to the bulky guys around him.
'How did he manage to gather such people?' Kai wondered, realizing they weren't just hired by some organization.
"I know you're wondering how they work for me. I'll answer that question later," Mia said, catching Kai's attention.
"You see this card? After some research, I found out it's just a game card," Mia said, flipping a black card.
"It didn't burn even after being in the fire. That's why I'm conducting this experiment, and you'll be my test subject."
"Put the helmet on him," Mia commanded, and the triplets obeyed, overpowering Kai.
The helmet was placed on Kai's head, and the card was inserted into it.
"Do you have any last words?" Mia asked.
"Fuck you!" Kai shouted.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure your parents hear those words," Mia replied.
"Start the helmet," Mia commanded, and the triplet named Blue activated it.
Boom!
Everything happened so quickly. The card turned into dust-like particles and exploded.
Mia and the triplets couldn't retreat in time. They were all sucked into the frame by an unknown force.
Shortly after, a bright orb flew out of the building into the sky, disappearing into space.
