The sun stood high as its gaze was felt by all, the smouldering heat carried by the wind as it blew on Xiao Lingyue's face.
The uncomfortable heat was a new feeling for him since he was used to cold, damn wicked auras and environments. . .
Silver Deer City was a somewhat larger city in the Barbaric South with a Dantian Opening City Lord who was able to keep himself and the city neutral between the two warring sects and as the cacophony of bustling voices within the city rang out, the liveliness stood as a stark contrast to the cold and almost silent Blood Gate Cult.
Xiao Lingyue made his way through the city as he looked for an inn, his eyes were welcomed by the prosperity of the lodging district.
The noon sun stood high as paved sky blue tiles were inlaid into the road while all types of luxurious plants lined both sides of this well-made pathway.
People continued to flood in and out of the city as within this district, the clothes of the people here were all very clean and tidy, made
of many rare materials like platinum silk and moon's light brocade.
Some young men and women were dressed nicely as they giggled and played along their way, currently speaking about the latest news as they passed.
"Have you heard of The 7-Souls Peony? I've heard that some disciples of the Cloud Chasing Sect have made a move on it." A young lady said.
XiaoLingyue was about to pass by when he heard what was said next.
"Of course they will; the 7-Souls Peony is a top-ranked Earth spirit flower. Not only can it help open meridians but its 7 petals can be used to help one develop their willpower which also increases comprehension, those sects always get greedy and take everything not even leaving some soup for the rest of us." A young male scoffed as he made his way with the group.
"Shhh, Bing Yuhei! You can't speak about the Cloud Chasing Sect like that!" another young lady said as she spoke in hushed tones.
Xiao LingYue eyes narrowed as he slowly stuck to the shadows as he tailed the group aiming for more information.
*****************
The sun fell as the darkness encroached upon the land, hiding the evils that lurked within as small orbs of light were set alight.
Like beacons in the darkness, the lights stood as they desperately waged war against an all-encompassing foe. . .
Xiao LingYue followed them to a small residence on the outskirts of the city as he hid amongst the shadows of the roof's tiles, his aura withdrawn as his ears twitched.
*Crash!*
"I told you those Cloud Chasing bastards would aim to take all of the 7-Souls Peony!" Bing Yuhei raged as he threw things across the room before continuing, " Bing Mei Shi! Let's go and find them! How dare they treat us like this?! The Silver Moon forest is our territory!"
Bing Mei Shi stared at her brother as he fumed before saying, " Yuhei settle down and use your head. "
A sharp glint passed through her eyes as she smiled, "We won't have to fight them for it, even if they are dragons and try to suppress the local snake, this snake will borrow the majesty of the Tigers."
Bing Mei Shi batted her beautiful eyes that seemed like golden brown gemstones as she ran her fingers through her curly hair which fell like waves as they crashed over her shoulders.
Her gaze turned to one of the other young masters of the Silver Deer City as her smile lit up the room, "Release the news of the 7-Souls Peony to the Heaven's Net Society and Blood Gate Cult."
The young master's face flushed as he seemed dazed, his eyes blurry as he smiled and retreated into the shadows.
Xiao LingYue sneered as he found the infighting between the human race hilarious, as he was completely on board with the more chaotic the better since more humans were sure to die.
Bing Yuhei was gleeful as he said, "Well we'll see what those Cloud Chasing bastards will be up to n.."
"Shhh!!"
Bing Mei Shi placed her hands over her lips as a dangerous look flashed through her eyes as she sent her guards to attack a specific place on the roof. . . .
Five guards blasted through the roof and as they surrounded Xiao LingYue they drew their swords before swinging down with all their might!
Ding!
A saber gleam was seen swinging upwards like an inverted lightning bolt rising from the earth to attack the skies.
The gleam was so blinding that it startled three of the guards as their lives were reaped in their inattentiveness.
Only two breaths had passed while the heads of the guards spun slowly into the sky, their vision all focused below them as they saw the 3 headless bodies, while the remaining two guards had parried the blow as they were sent three steps backwards.
' Meridian Opening!'
Fear was evident in the last two guards' eyes as Bing Yuhei landed on the roof, his eyes staring at the enemy who stood opposite him.
This man seemed like the incarnation of a devil, his red split pupils focused on them as his half-oni mask covered the bottom of his face.
A Baleful Qi billowed around him as a sharp aura slowly spread into the surroundings.
Bing Yuhei's throat went dry as he could clearly feel that this man was stronger than him!
His hands shook as the Baleful Qi and murderous aura pressed downwards on his heart until he heard Bing Mei Shi's calm voice in his ear.
"Bing Yuhei don't move, if you move you'll definitely die..."
The attention from other residents were drawn towards them as they stood on the roof while the blood drained from the headless corpses that laid there. . .
"Young Miss! Are you alright?!" A shout was heard from afar as their attention shifted to the incoming voice.
*Whoosh*
Xiao LingYue jumped backwards gracefully as the black and white robes fluttered, landing within the alley nearby before blending into the shadows, his ruby-like eyes' glow soon fading shortly after. . .
Bing Yuhei and Bing Mei Shi panted as cold sweat soaked their back, the only thoughts rumbling through their minds were who was he and how close they were to death.
Bing Yuhei's legs gave out as he placed his hand on his neck, throughout the whole interaction it was like a cold blade was hung over his neck, leaving him rattled and unsettled.
" Are we still going through with the plan?" He quizzically looked towards Bing Mei Shi.
To which he heard Bing Mei Shi reply, "Of course, it's even better now."
A sickeningly sweet smile blossomed across her face as she chuckled while her eyes became like crescents.
'A Tiger has already took the bait, hopefully, he can stomach this Dragon. . .'
