Chereads / Just A Fling / Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Alexis walked out of the lecture complex at exactly 4:13pm. She was so tired and she looked a mess.

'why did nobody tell me college was this stressful!?' she screamed on the inside

After the literature 101 disaster, everything else went well. She went fifteen minutes early to the other classes.

'can't believe I have to do this tomorrow again' she thought as she dragged herself down the road leading to the dorm.

After the amount of stress she had passed through, she felt like she needed a two day break.

She slipped her phone out of her pocket to scroll through but before she could even turn it on, she saw a familiar figure walking towards her.

Soon, the figure was close enough and Alexis could recognize who it was.

She wore a pair of black pants and an oversized grey hoodie over it. She wore a pair of white sneakers and and she had her black hair packed into a pony tail dangling behind her head. She had a cup in her left hand and she stared down at her phone in her right hand

"Candace" Alexis called out waving with a tired smile.

Candace looked up at her and stared for about two seconds but then she turned back to her phone ignoring Alexis.

"Candace" she called again but Candace just walked by like she wasn't even there.

Alexis turned to watch her walk away confusion written all over my face.

'did she just ignore me?' she thought 'well screw her' she rolled her eyes and turned to continue her journey to the dorm.

She slowly made her way past all the lecture complexes and finally to the dorm.

She was so glad her room was on the first floor cuz there was no way she could climb stairs with how tired she was.

She walked down the hallway and finally she got to her door. She flung it open and stepped in using all the strength left in her to slam the door behind. She flung her bag in a corner and crashed onto her bed not even bothering to take off her shoes. After about two minutes, she slipped under her blanket and pulled it over her head. She closed her eyes and soon she drifted into sleep.

After about two hours. Alexis heard someone slam the room door jerking her out of sleep.

'that asshole' she thought knowing it was Candace who just stepped in.

She closed her eyes again to continue sleeping but as soon as she did, she began to hear that annoying scraping sound.

"Someone might just die today" she muttered to herself now getting furious.

She tightly shut her eyes trying to sleep through the rattling but she couldn't and the scraping just wouldn't stop.

"What the hell?!" She piped yanking off her blanket.

"Jesus" Dianne jumped clutching a wine bottle against her chest. Telling from the look on her face, she was startled.

"Dianne?" Alexis questioned sitting up on her bed.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Dianne asked trying to calm herself.

"Waiting for the Beyonce concert to start" Alexis replied sarcastically and Dianne narrowed her eyes "this is my room" she eventually added with emphasis on the 'my'

"Yeah but I didn't know you were there" Dianne began "you startled me" she added

"Sorry" Alexis started "now what the hell was that scraping sound" she questioned obviously still pissed

"I was searching under Candace's bed" Dianne replied

"Why?. What are you doing?" Alexis asked

"Definitely not stealing a bottle of wine from Candace it that's what you're thinking" Dianne replied staring straight at Alexis

"Whatever" Alexis began laying back down"just please be quiet, I'm trying to sleep" she added slipping back under her blanket.

"I was just taking the wine to Amarr's room" Dianne began expecting a response from Alexis but she just kept quiet "we're having fun wanna come?" She asked

Alexis pushed the blanket off her face and just stared at Dianne for about thirty seconds causing a very awkward silence.

"I need to sleep" she said finally.

"Didn't you just wake up?" Dianne questioned

"So?" Alexis shot back.

"I won't stop disturbing you till you get up and follow me" Dianne said taking a seat on Candace's bed.

Alexis pressed her lips together in annoyance "fine" she said finally getting up from her bed.

She was wearing a pair of blue pants and a white shirt and she still had her sneakers on.

"Cool, let's go" Dianne got up and began to walk towards the door.

Alexis just rolled her eyes and followed behind her. They soon got out into the hallway and they began to head towards the stairs.

"His room is on what floor?" Alexis asked rubbing her eyes.

"Second" Dianne replied squinting her eyes to read something on the wine bottle.

Then there was a brief silence.

"I think Candace hates me" Alexis began as they began to climb the stairs.

"Yeah" Dianne replied bluntly finally lowering the wine bottle to focus on the stairs.

"What?" Alexis questioned sharply turning to face Dianne with furrowed eyebrows "I was expecting you to say no, she doesn't hate you she's like that to everyone" she added

"No she's not" Dianne began "Candace just doesn't talk to people she's not mean" she explained

"She's mean to me" Alexis pointed out

"Which is why I said she hates you" Dianne replied as they finally got to the second floor.

"But we just met yesterday, why would she hate me?" Alexis asked, her voice now getting higher.

"I don't know" Dianne shrugged stopping in front of the second door by the left.

Room 204.

"I've got the wine!" She announced as she flung the door open. "And I brought Lex" she added

"Hi" Alexis waved as she stepped in behind Dianne.

The room was just like Alexis' except less gloomy. There was a table by the door side with random things just sitting on it, there were shoes scattered all around and the beds were rough. There was a cabinet by each bed and there was music playing at low volume from a small mp3 player placed on one of the cabinets. The room smelt like boy sweat and weed.

There were three guys in the room, Amarr and two other guys Alexis had never seen before.

Amarr sat on his bed leaning against the wall with his eyes glued to his phone while the two other guys sat on the floor chatting indistinctly.

"Hi Alexis" Amarr said looking up at her through his lashes. He wore a sleeveless orange jersey and a pair of orange shorts. His hair was dripping and the upper part of his jersey was wet.

"Lex this is Wayne and this is Blake" Dianne said pointing to the guys on the floor "two shitheads you probably won't like" she added.

"Hi guys" Alexis waved at them

"That was a terrible introduction" Wayne said getting up from the floor to walk towards Alexis "I'm Wayne" he introduced himself stretching his hand for a handshake

"I'm Alexis" she replied taking his hand

"I'm a junior, just like Amarr and Dianne is just full of shit, you're definitely going to like me" Wayne continued with a smile "but you see that dipshit over there..." He turned to point to Blake "that's Blake and you definitely won't like him" he added

"That's a lie" Blake said not even bothering to look up at both of them

"Whatever, where's the wine opener?" Dianne asked looking around the room.

"Here it is" Amarr replied picking it from the floor. "Where'd you get the wine?" He asked walking towards Dianne

"Candace" she replied

"I thought Amarr had like half a bottle of wine" Wayne said turning away from Alexis

"Were you blind when Dianne poured the whole thing on my head?" Amarr shot back

'well that explains the wet hair' Alexis thought

"Oh Right" Wayne laughed

"Blake dared me to" Dianne said justifying herself

"Asshole" Amarr muttered taking the wine bottle from Dianne.

He opened it and handed it back to her.

"Now let's play pass the cup" Dianne announced walking towards the table by the door to grab two cups. "You can sit on Wayne's bed" she said to Alexis who was still standing by the door feeling so awkward.

"What's pass the cup" Alexis asked walking towards the bed.

"It's this shitty game Dianne forces us to play just so we can expose each other's secrets" Blake responded looking up to face Alexis.

"Don't listen to Blake, the game doesn't have to be like that" Dianne said pouring a portion of the wine into one of the cups she was holding and setting the bottle down on the table. "The game is just all about passing the cup around, and when you're passing the cup to someone, you say something about the person," she explained "for example, if I want to pass the cup to Blake, I can say, I'm passing the cup to the guy who acts tough but is scared to take a cold shower" she concluded .

"See that" Blake began "exposing each other" he added

"You start" Dianne said handing the empty cup to Alexis.

"Ok" she replied reluctantly taking the cup from Dianne.

Usually she would be scared of games like this but this time she wasn't. She had just met Dianne and Amarr the day before, they didn't really know anything about her.

"I'm passing the cup to the reason why I was late for my lecture this morning" she said and at that she stretched the cup to Dianne.

"Seriously" Dianne laughed "that's not true" she continued taking the cup from her "I'm passing the cup to the guy who would probably get arrested before he graduates because of drug dealing" she said and she stretched the cup to Blake

"I hate you" Blake shook his head as he took the cup from her "I'm passing the cup to the guy who smokes the most weed but can't take a pill of aspirin" he said and Dianne and Wayne burst into laughter.

"I hate this game" Alexis was shocked to hear Amarr say as he took the cup from Blake.

'now that's shocking' she thought

"Aspirin tastes terrible and I don't even smoke the most weed" Amarr protested "I'm passing the cup to the guy who thought Dianne was cute until he actually met her" he said stretching the cup to Wayne.

"Yeah, I'm not gonna deny that" Wayne said taking the cup

"Screw you" Dianne replied taking a sip of her wine.

"I'm passing the cup to the prettiest girl in the room" Wayne said stretching the cup to Alexis

"I know you only said that to attack me" Dianne pointed "motherfucker"

"I'm passing the cup to the girl with the overdramatic accent" Alexis said stretching the cup to Dianne

"I'll take that as a compliment" Dianne took the cup with pride "now I'm passing the cup to the guy who hasn't had a girlfriend since middle school but his body count is a two digit number" she said and she stretched the cup to Wayne

"Touche" Wayne nodded taking the cup "I'm passing the cup to the guy who is almost twenty one but is still scared of shots" he said stretching the cup to Amarr

"I am not scared of shots!" Amarr yelled at him "I just don't like them" he added taking the cup "I'm passing the cup to someone who almost had something with Blake" Amarr said and he stretched the cup to Dianne with a smirk.

Alexis turned to look at Blake and he was also smirking, so was Wayne.

"You're gonna regret that" Dianne took the cup "I'm passing the cup to the guy who already has a crush on Alexis" she said and she raised her head to look at Wayne.

Alexis' eyes grew wide.

"I don't" Wayne protested

"Wasn't talking to you" she replied and she turned to face Amarr "take the cup dipshit" she said with a victorious smile on her face.

"Busted" Blake muttered turning to face Amarr

"Shut the fuck up, no I don't" Amarr immediately denied it trying to stay calm but he obviously looked nervous. "You know what, I'm done with this game" he said turning away from them

"He has a crush on you" Dianne said to Alexis.

Her cheeks grew red and she immediately dropped her head to look at her shoes.

"I don't!" Amarr yelled slapping Dianne's cup out of her hands "gosh I hate you" he muttered.

'damn' Alexis thought
