Chapter 3 - The War of the Titans (Titanomachy) - Greek Mythology

After Zeus had released his siblings from the stomach of their father-The Titan Kronos, Zeus guided to the top of Mount Olympus-the highest mountain in Greece, and it was there that the headquarters of these rebel gods would be established, and they would fight against the tyranny of the titans and this rebellion is what gave rise to the Titanomachy which is also known as the War of the Titans.

On his throne on mount othrys Kronos summoned all his titan allies so that they would all participate in the great battle. The general of Kronos's army was the Titan Atlas who would lead the attacks against the Olympic gods, The plains of the Thessaly region were the battlefield where the armies of the gods and the titans brawled. The Titans eventually began to impose themselves on the gods due to their immense physical power, but Zeus being aware of the power of the army of the Titans went looking for reinforcements in Tartarus and so he freed the strange one-eyed creatures known as Cyclops and the Cyclops in a gesture of gratitude forged formidable weapons for the gods. Zeus received his famous and powerful lightning bolt; Poseidon was gifted a Majestic Trident capable of creating earthquakes and tsunamis and Hades was given the Helm of Terror which gave him invisibility and with these new weapons, the gods managed to face the mighty and huge titans.

Kronos's army through entire mountains as projectiles against the gods and this gruesome battle between the tians and the gods lasted for almost ten (10) years full of intense Tai-Jutsu (Hand to Hand Combat) and the odds were tilted to the side of the titans and so Zeus in an attempt to gain the upper hand decided to free the fearsome Hecatoncheires-giants with a hundred (100) arms and fifty (50) heads from Tartarus and because of this, the horrendous creatures had a decisive impact on the war and the army of titans panicked when they came across those grotesque creatures . Zeus gathered all his power to give even more energy to his most powerful lightning bolt and then used it to strike the head of Kronos and the impact of the mighty blow shook the entire universe and with time the Titans were subdued and then punished exemplarily .

Kronos and all his allies were then condemned to a perpetual existence in the depths of Tartarus and the Hecatoncheires assumed the role of the jailers. Zeus reserved a special punishment for the Titan General, the leader of the titanic troops-Atlas, He was condemned to bear the weight of the celestial sphere on his shoulders for all eternity and the Olympic gods now reigned supreme, and under the command of Zeus, a new order began in the universe
