Hauling her straight into the Palace, Kristen kept asking. "Where are you taking me? Where are we going?" He didn't answer her and only kept going.
When he stopped, Kristen stared in awe. It looked like a training room with weapons everywhere.
There are bows and arrows, swords, spears, daggers and a whole lot of other weapons she didn't know the names of.
"Wow!" She exclaimed. He could only smirk in satisfaction. "Can I touch them?" she asked. "Sure." he agreed. She went forward and ran her fingers on them.
"That's a Danish Axe." he said. She looked at him when he spoke. "And that's a Flail." he said again. "And this one?" she asked. "That's a Bill." "And this one?" "Pole-Axe." " This one?" "Mace."
She was so interested. "Can I take pictures?" She just had to ask. "Do you wanna take pictures of me fighting my biggest enemy?" he also asked. She then smiled. "And who might that be?"
"I don't know. The air." he said. "But first," he turned around and picked up a bow and arrow. "Can you shoot a bow an arrow?" he asked.
"No. At least not this kind." She said.
"Good." he smiled. He handed her the bow and arrow. "Shoot it." he said. "But I don't know how to do it." she also said. "Just try."
She took a deep breath. She then slowly drew an arrow and placed it nervously on the bow. She did a lot of things wrong. She held the bow wrong, didn't pull the string to that right length and the arrow just fell two feet away from her.
She looked at him and he was laughing. "I told you I couldn't do it." She said. "Here, lemme show you." He stepped forward and took the bow from from her.
"So this is a typical wooden 'take down' recurve bow. This is the limp tip, upper limb, limb bolt, the riser, arrow rest, lower limb, string, nocking point and the serving." He now picked up the arrow. " This is the shaft, fletching, arrow head and the nock." He named all the parts of the bow and arrow. "Now, all you have to do is is put the arrow head on the arrow rest, the nock on the nocking point, your three fingers on the serving and pull, with your left arm at shoulder length gripping the riser tight and your right arm pulled back with your thumb touching your chin. Now you aim and you shoot." he demonstrated and shot the arrow across the room.
"I probably won't remember any of that." she said. "You don't need to. You just have to place the arrow correctly and pulled to the right length. And of course have perfect aim." he said. He handed her the bow and an arrow.
"Now try again. This time, I'll guide you." He went and stood behind her. He placed his left hand on hers on the grip of the bow and his right hand on hers, pulling the strings back. He rested her chin on her neck and asked, "Why is your heart beating so fast?" "How loud is it beating for you to hear it?" "I have sensitive ears." "Ok." She gulped down saliva as she began to feel nervous.
"Alright. Aim...," he said. "And shoot." she added and they shot the arrow straight into the bull's eyes. At the moment, she was amazed.
"I did it." she said. "I actually did." she began jumping in excitement. "Well I helped." Achilles said.
She stopped and looked at him. "Yeah you did." She smiled. "So thank you." "For what?" "For giving me the experience. I'm probably the first outsider you've ever gotten close to enough to show me all this." "What makes you think you're the first?" he asked. "You said it yourself that I'm the only woman who has ever gotten in close proximity with you." "Maybe there's a reas-" Achilles paused for a second. "What is it? why are you quiet?" She asked.
"My brother, he's coming. You have to leave." Achilles sort of panicked.
"Why, Am I not allowed to be here?" she asked again. "Sort of, yeah." He grabbed her hand and they ran out of the training room. "Now go straight and take a left. They doors will open for you to leave." "Ok." she nodded and ran. "Kristen?" he called out. She turned to look at him. "Be quiet and don't let anyone see you." he said. She simply nodded again and went.
Achilles headed back to the training room and saw Myles and Zale already there.
"Where were you?" Myles asked. "Somewhere. Now you ready?" "Yes." Achilles walked over and grabbed three swords. He handed one to the Zale and the other to Myles.
"Now you know the rules. Last person left standing with his sword wins. No super strength, no super speed, no flames and absolutely no shape-shifting. Got it?" Achilles asked. "Yeah." Both Zale and Myles answered.
They began to fight each other. Usually, Achilles would let Zale fight Myles and when he was done, Zale would fight him. Achilles watched as Myles eventually lost his sword.
Zale turned to Achilles. "Well, I guess it's us again." "It's always us." Zale smiled. "Should I go hard or soft?" Zale asked. "Give me your all. I always win anyways." Achilles confidentently said. Then, their swords clashed.
"I'm gonna win this time Achilles." "We'll see." They kept on fighting until they heard someone yell. Achilles got distracted and Zale took the opportunity and yanked his sword away. Both Achilles and Myles was surprised. Achilles never lost to Zale so how come?
They heard a noise of someone yelling again.
"No, no please let me go." They heard from a distance. Achilles turned around. "Oh no!' he exclaimed as he knew exactly who it was.
"Achilles! Achilles help!" Kristen yelled.
They all headed out to see what the noise was about.
They the saw Kristen, captured by two Palace guards being treated like a thief.
Her eyes lit up when she saw him. "Achilles please help me." She said in the softest and vulnerable voice ever.
Why was she calling him by his first name like that? No one has the right to call him that except his family so why was a mere human girl calling him by his first name?
That was the question everyone wanted to know the answer to.
