Chapter 13 - You make me feel comfortable

Kristen was fast asleep when she she received a phone call. "Who is calling so early?" she groaned. She reached out lazily to grab her phone on her bed side table. She looked at the caller ID but it was an unknown number. She hesitated but she still answered it.

"Hello?" she said slowly. "Hi Kristen, it's me." She immediately recognized the voice. "Lucas?" she asked. She heard him sigh in relief when she said his name."Yes." He said. "Why the hell are you calling me?" "I miss you love and want to come and see you so I'll be coming in two days."

What?! he was coming?

"Don't even try that with me. Don't come anywhere. After what you did to me you want me to accept you again? Just like that? Get off my phone." She Immediately hung up the phone.

He called her again.

"I said stop calling me!" She yelled. "Kristen just listen to me!" Lucas yelled back. Kristen then went silent. "You know I love you baby. I only did what I did because I had no choice but trust me, I want you back." he said.

"No you don't Lucas. How could you hurt me and then tell me you had no choice? You always had a choice." "If I could go back in time I would. That's how much I love you Kristen. I love you so much and I know you love me too."

"I don't love you anymore Luke. As a matter of fact, I hate you. I hate you with every fibre of my being. Don't come here cos I don't wanna see your smug face again."

"You don't mean that Kris, tell me you don't mean that?" He rose his voice. "Remember when you called me 'just a side piece'? I'd prefer I stayed just a side piece."

"Say you love me Kris," he demanded. His words brought tear drops to her eyes because she knew that she still loved him. Not as much as before but something was still there.

"I don't love you anymore Lucas. I already said that." "Liar!" he yelled. The tears dropped even more but she tried her best to be silent so that he wouldn't hear her.

"You hurt me Lucas so I've moved on. Don't try and pursue me again. I'm not your 'side piece' anymore." She said and hung up the phone.

She began to sob loudly. She didn't understand why he was doing that to her.

"Can you give me three reasons why you're doing this?" Zale asked. Achilles was walking out the door. "Cos I want to." he simply said.

"Why do you want to?" "I just want to now stop asking questions. I gotta go now, I'll let you know when I'll be back."

Achilles walked away quickly. Zale shook his head.

He knocked on her hotel room door and waited patiently for her to open it. She opened it and was surprised to see him. He had a hat and sunglasses on but she recognized him.

"Are you ready to go?" he asked. "How did you know what room I was in?" She asked instead. "I saw you enter the last time. Are you ready?" "No I-" He suddenly barged into her room.

"I knew it. Women always take forever to get ready." "Um, excuse me?!" He turned and looked at her. "You're excused." he said. She looked at him with her mouth slightly open in disbelief.

"I don't take forever to get ready. What are you even doing here? You know you don't really act like a prince." "I don't?" "No. You act like frat boy from L.A" Suddenly, he gave her an unfathomable gaze.

"What did you say?" he asked with a sudden change of tone. Her expression changed to a panicked one. "I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend you Your Majesty." He then smirked at her.

"Do I scare you?" he asked and approached her slowly. His question caught her off guard. "Huh!"

"Do I scare you, Kristen?" he got closer to her. "Urr... I-I don't...think so." "Then why did you break so easily? Why did you apologize faster than lightning?" At this point, he was close enough to touch his nose to hers.

She closed her eyes as he got closer. "Because you scared me Achilles." she admitted. He retreated. "I scared you?" he asked. "Y-yes. The look on you face was all too familiar." "Where have you seen that look?" "On someone I used to know and care about." she said.

"I apologize then." He said. "No, no, no. You don't have to." she reached out and touched his shoulder. They both looked at his hand on his shoulder.

"Sorry." she took her hand off quickly. "You don't have to apologize all the time too Kris." he said.

"But you're a prince and I'm in your country. I have to respect you." "Maybe I am a prince and maybe you're in my country but I choose to be like this around you. You make me feel comfortable and you make me feel like I don't have to act royal to be royal. Now I'm going to step out, get ready and let's go. No one can see us though." He said and straight away, he left her room.

She was dumbfounded. She didn't know if he was just saying that or it was true. She did wonder why he acted so casual around her. Subconsciously, what he said brought a smile to her face. Did he really feel that comfortable to put aside his royalty and act normal around her? As she did was smile like an idiot at the thought.
