After having eaten and properly absorbed everything she could, she decided it was finally time to head back home. However, not before changing, that is.
She quickly changed out of the clothing she had into the spare clothing she brought in order to get rid of the bloodstains that covered them.
She wanted to avoid being noticed while returning, after all.
Once finished, she headed home.
The trip was quick and uneventful, it was very late into the night, and even the busy city was currently less active because of that.
Eventually, she reached home, deciding to take a shower before heading to bed.
Laying in bed, she drifted off to a temporary rest, her mind still working in the many units she had all over the place.
For now, she decided not to use any of the mass she had gained.
Her current stats were ok, especially since she had just received a significant boost in them, and she had yet to properly get used to it, not to mention she didn't like wasting mass on stats.
As for making more hive units, she was wary about increasing the number of large hive units because she knew multiple groups and individuals existed in or around New York that could possibly detect them, which was why she started at a low number of worms.
As for more fly scouts, she didn't need much more, and she didn't want to waste any mass on more since they worked just fine.
So, for now, she would save her mass until she deemed the time suitable or needed to.
And with those thoughts in mind, she fell asleep.
Waking up the next day, she didn't have much to do; she lounged around at home, spent time with her new family, and even spoke to them a bit more.
She planned to not do much for a while, as through her fly scouts, she was able to detect multiple X-Men looking throughout the city for her due to the numerous spikes in power she had.
At first, she couldn't tell who they were because they were all in regular clothing.
None of them seemed to be famous characters she knew of, but after hearing them speak to each other and the Professor on the device, she was able to figure it out.
Also, apparently, her ranking had spiked to the higher side of the Alpha-Level Mutants, so they were very keen on finding her.
But they weren't able to find her in her house, so she didn't have to worry about them for now.
And just like that, another day went by without her doing much.
However, the following day, February 1st, 2008.
The day Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules was officially published in the Marvel world, she was sat down and told something by her adoptive parents.
"Lily dear, there is someone that would really like to meet you. Would you like to meet him?"
Ask her mother, who had taken up the habit of referring to her as 'dear,' which she didn't mind.
"He's someone that works for our Boss; he won't hurt you and will be able to help you."
Spoke her father, only for him to receive a glare from her mother as if he wasn't supposed to say that.
Lily sat on the couch listening to them; she pretended to be thinking about their question when in reality, she was thinking about another matter altogether.
S.H.I.E.L.D. had finally decided to make a move.
It made sense; they took her in under the assumption that she was a mutant. They wanted to train her, brainwash her, and get her to work for them.
Obviously, they had to make a move as soon as possible before she grew too old or too stable.
To them, her fake age was 15, and mentally they assumed she was very susceptible to brainwashing because of the trauma she had been through.
But that was just what she wanted them to think.
"Ok, if you say it's safe."
She replied, making her mother smile and nod her head.
"Of course, get ready as soon as possible, and we can meet him. Think of it as a road trip."
She nodded to her mother's request and got up, heading to get changed in some of the clothing they had brought her, leaving her parents to get ready as well.
They wanted the meeting to happen as soon as possible, so she was very interested in knowing what exactly they planned to do with her.
She wasn't as worried as before about meeting them because, currently, she had the capabilities needed to escape from them without worry.
She wanted to make the most of the chance she was getting, as S.H.I.E.L.D. had a lot of information, technology, and even people she wanted to get her hands on.
So, becoming an agent, albeit temporarily, would work out for her.
Once she was dressed, wearing long black jeans and a black long-sleeve hoodie, she headed down to meet her parents because she liked dressing in comfortable clothing.
Both of them wore much more formal clothing, a black suit.
She was definitely underdressed, but they didn't seem to mind; her father even smiled once he saw it, for whatever reason.
"Alright, let's go."
Spoke her mother as they headed out of the house and hopped into the car, heading to the next big thing.
