The girls all sat in wait, waiting for Muma to return.
"I... can sense him..." Kumo said, softly.
"Huh?" Leia asked, as she didn't hear Kumo very well.
"I can sense him!" Kumo shouted, as she jumped up.
"I can too." Niku said, as her eyes widened.
"It seems he's getting closer." Peki said, smiling as she closed her eyes. "Master is closer." Peki continued.
"Master?" Niku asked, not sure who Peki's referring to.
"I've decided that I'll call pepper Master, I'd like to be seen more as his maid or something similar." Peki said, explaining her use of the word.
"You don't like calling him Daddy?" Kumo asked, feeling confused.
"It isn't whether or not I like it, it simply fits how I'd like to help him. He is my Master, and I am his servant." Peki said, while beginning to smile, but catching herself and stopping.
"Whatever. But don't you all realize what's, like, going on?" Niku asked, while looking at everyone.
The girls were all silent for a moment. "It means..." Leia said, as she looked up at Niku in surprise. "Daddy made it out of The Underworld!" Leia said, as tears formed in her eyes.
"He's coming to save us!" Mae said, feeling relieved.
"But... he's weak somehow, as if he's hurt." Niku said, beginning to worry. "His breathing isn't, like, correct at all." Niku continued.
"He'll be fine!" Kumo shouted, trying not to let anyone worry. "Daddy wouldn't want us to worry, he only needs us to wait." Kumo continued.
"You can't say that he'll be fine with how he feels, he's angry and confused right now, let alone the fact that he's somehow hurt!" Niku shouted, not understanding why Kumo's suddenly so hopeful.
"But he will be fine! I believe it with all of my heart." Kumo said, while holding her heart.
"He's already gone through Hell and back for us, I doubt much can be worse than Hades." Leia said, with a slight chuckle. "I'm sure he'll be here soon, and we'll all laugh everything off." Leia continued.
"But..." Niku said, trying to think.
"And the next time we see him... I'm sure that, in that moment, we'll all be together again!" Mae said, with a smile.
"Don't get too hopefully on that, or you might jinx it." Polly said, trying to joke.
"What? You think we'd just be taken away again?" Kure said, as she stood up. "Daddy wouldn't let that happen!" Kure exclaimed, feeling absolutely sure.
"You all confuse me..." A voice unknown to the girls said, from inside the cell. The voice came from Kutsuyo's direction.
"Who, like, said that?" Niku asked, as looked around.
"It was me!" The voice appeared again, as Kutsuyo's head looked up at them. The white in her eyes was now dark, and her pupils were now a blood red.
"Kutsuyo...?" Kumo asked, feeling confused.
"I've been observing your group for a while, the bond you all share... I'll never understand it." The odd Kutsuyo said.
"Who the hell are you?!" Niku shouted.
"I'm nothing more than a Demon..." The odd Kutsuyo replied.
"No you're not! Like, I'm a Demon!" Niku shouted, as she feels a little bothered by how they used the term Demon. "I want your name." Niku continued.
"Just call me Kutsuyon, then." Kutsuyon said, as she got up and walked in a seemingly aimless way for a moment.
"Where's Kutsuyo?" Kumo asked, feeling worried for Kutsuyo.
"She's just asleep, don't worry." Kutsuyon said, looking around at the girls.
"Where did you come from?" Leia asked, feeling too cautious to move.
"A place of wonder..." Kutsuyon quickly replied, as she smiled to herself.
"What does that even mean?" Niku asked, not understanding Kutsuyon.
"I live in Kutsuyo's mind, I've been listening to all of you for a while now. Until a few moments ago, Kutsuyo has held me in chains basically." Kutsuyon said, looking at Kutsuyo's hands.
"So... you're, like, a different personality of Kutsuyo's?" Niku asked, trying to understand.
"Not at all. Kutsuyo and I are completely different things, but something caused her to weaken her grasp on me." Kutsuyon said, trying to think. And suddenly, the cell bars opened, and Muma walked in.
"Muma!" Kumo shouted, with a smile.
The bars closed behind Muma. "Kumo?" Muma asked, feeling confused.
Kumo ran up to Muma and, to the best of her ability, hugged Muma, though it was more of Kumo pressing her body onto Muma's. "I thought you were too depressed to care about anything." Muma said, feeling relieved to see Kumo up and smiling. Muma waited a moment for Kumo to respond but Kumo didn't say anything. "Kumo?" Muma asked, not understanding why Kumo wouldn't respond.
"Kehe..." Kumo muttered a slight giggle.
"Kumo... we're the same height, why are you shorter than me?" Muma asked, feeling more confused.
"She isn't shorter than you... She's intentionally crouching..." Niku said, looking annoyed.
"Oh?" Muma said, still not understanding.
"She's just planting her face in your boobs!" Niku shouted, feeling annoyed with Kumo and Muma.
"Oh! Fuhuhu!" Muma said, as she realized that Niku was right.
"Did you not notice?!" Niku asked, feeling like Muma's an idiot.
"My mind's not really focused at the moment..." Muma said, looking a little uncomfortable.
"What's wrong?" Kumo asked, as she got off of Muma.
"I'm sure I can guess..." Niku said, as she sat on a bed.
"Was it... the fight...?" Kumo asked, feeling like she should have known already.
"Yeah, I'm just a little unsure of how I'm feeling." Muma said, as she walked away from Kumo.
"I don't really remember much of my fight..." Kumo said. "But I remember that everything felt cold... I don't like the cold..." Kumo continued.
"Yeah, like, you felt cold the entire time you were depressed." Niku said, informing Kumo.
"What caused you to snap out if it, Kumo?" Muma asked, feeling curious.
"Oh!" Kumo said, feeling excited. "You don't know, I forgot!" Kumo continued.
"Yeah, Daddy's on his way. We can sense how close he is now." Niku said, hoping that would calm Muma.
"Oh wow!" Muma said, feeling happy.
"Wake up!" A soldier shouted, causing the girls to all wake up.
"Ugh! Who now?" Niku asked, feeling too tired to yell.
"Polly." The soldier said.
"I suppose it was only a matter of time." Polly said, as she stood up.
"Hey." Niku said, as she grabbed Polly's wrist. "We'll all be waiting for Daddy, so don't you dare die." Niku said, as she looked into Polly's eyes.
Polly smiled. "Thanks, but I'm already dead!" Polly said, happily as she skipped out of the cell.
"Jeez..." Niku sighed, as she layed back down.
"Use whatever weapons you'd like." The soldier said, as he closed and locked the door.
'I won't need any weapons, I don't know how to use any.' Polly thought, as she walked past them. 'When do I go out?' Polly continued thinking.
"Welcome, everyone!" The announcer shouted into the microphone. "I hope you didn't buy any food because that'll soon be on the way back up your throat if the matches from this team of girls continues the way it's been!" The announcer said, before slight whispering could be heard from the speakers. "I can't say not to purchase anything? Oh..." The announcer said, quietly.
"What I meant to say, was to make sure you purchase any and all foods that your stomach can hold!" The announcer quickly said. "Now! Let's introduce our two fighters!" The announcer shouted. "First, we have Polly! She's another one of those blue haired girls!
"I guess that's when I go." Polly said to herself, as she walked out if the tunnel. The crowd cheered, as they all felt excited to see more of what these blue haired girls can do.
"And second, Nevaia! Who had just won her previous fight!" The announcer shouted.
Polly walked closer to the center of the arena, and as she did, she saw Nevaia come out of her tunnel. Nevaia's hair was a light purple, and it looked beautiful. But her face looked destroyed, her eyes had been recently gouged out, her nose was still dripping blood, and there were finger prints all over her neck. She wore a white T-shirt and jeans, with a heavy winter coat that covered her arms, and gloves that covered her hands. All of her clothes had blood spots scattered about.
Nevaia grew closer to the center, as did Polly. "They're about to meet! Who will strike first?! Polly, who's abilities are unknown at the moment, or Nevaia who recently watched her enemy take his own life!" The announcer shouted, as he sounded on the edge of his seat.
Polly and Nevaia finally met in the center of the arena, only about ten feet apart from each other. "Polly... that reminds me of a rhyme that I know..." Nevaia said, with a pretty voice.
"A rhyme? I don't know many." Polly said, looking at Nevaia's eyes and feeling bad for her.
"I know lots. Would you like to hear one?" Nevaia asked, as she tilted her head slightly.
"Yes, I would." Polly said, accepting Nevaia's offer. 'I'll let her say her rhyme, and everytime she breathes, she'll be one step closer to a better place.' Polly thought, as fog began to fill arena.
"It would appear that the arena has become foggy! There is no weather on Indigo so this is quite confusing!" The announcer said, as he squinted to see.
"Miss Polly had a dolly who was sick, sick, sick..." Nevaia sung, with an even prettier voice than before.
'This must be the rhyme my name reminded her of...' Polly thought, as she listened.
"So, she phoned for a doctor to be quick, quick, quick..." Nevaia continued, as she slowly sung the rhyme to Polly.
'This kind of... reminds me of something...' Polly thought, feeling like her memories are flooding into her head.
"The doctor came with his bad and his hat, and knocked on the door with a rat-a-tat tat..." Nevaia kept singing, and as she did, Polly kept remembering.
"It's hard to see, folks! But I think they're both still standing there... What are they doing?" The announcer asked, feeling extremely confused.
"Polly!" A voice said.
"Who..." Polly mumbled.
"Polly!" The voice said again, as Polly's eyes darted open.
Polly layed in shock, as she couldn't believe her eyes. "Zero...?" Polly said, slowly, feeling a hint of fear.
"She's not responding..." Zero said, as he picked up a telephone and began to dial.
"What's happening...?" Polly asked, not yet realizing that Zero can't hear her.
"He looked at the dolly and he shook his head..." Nevaia's rhyme echoed around Polly.
"Nevaia?" Polly asked, feeling confused. "This must be an illusion..." Polly said, as she thought out loud.
"She fell unconscious again, doctor. I don't know what to do." Zero said, as the phone was near his ear.
'I... remember being here...' Polly thought, as she looked around. Suddenly, three nurses came through the door, and they were all followed by a doctor who walked straight up to Polly. 'It's like they can't hear me... or see me moving...' Polly thought, feeling confused.
"This is not good, my friend." The doctor said, as he shook his head with a frown.
"What?" Zero said, with a worried expression.
"She's gone, Zero." The doctor said, as he looked at Zero with a serious face. Zero's eyes wattered and widened.
"I'm still having trouble seeing, everyone! But I'm trying my best!" The announcer said, as he moved his head around to see through the fog in different angles.
Polly took a gasp of air and looked around, realizing she was back in the arena. "I'm back...?" Polly whispered, to herself.
"And he said, 'Miss Polly, put her straight to bed.'..." Nevaia continued, as if she'd noticed nothing.
"Nevaia, do you know what that was?" Polly asked, hoping to get an answer.
"He wrote on a paper for a pill, pill, pill..." Nevaia continued singing, ignoring Polly. "I'll be back in the morning if the ba-" Nevaia sung, but was cut off by Polly.
"Hey! What just happened?" Polly asked, again.
"...You interrupted me... Did you not like the rhyme?" Nevaia asked, ignoring Polly again.
"I just would like to know if you did something a moment ago." Polly said, trying to get an answer.
"I've only been singing, whatever happened to you wasn't my doing." Nevaia responded.
'What...? That doesn't make sense...' Polly thought, feeling very confused.
"Since that rhyme wasn't to your likeing, would you like to hear another?" Nevaia asked, hoping Polly would like to hear one. "I'll do a shorter one, if you'd prefer." Nevaia continued.
"Um... Sure." Polly said, as she ignored whatever had happened to her and continuing with her original plan.
"Guide me, clouds... Guide me, sky..." Nevaia sang, as her voice seemed even more beautiful than the last rhyme.
'My fog should eventually make her explode... so whatever she pulls, I just need to hold out...' Polly thought, reminding herself of her plan.
"I want to see how you cry... I love it when you rain..." Nevaia continued singing, as she stood there.
'Wait! What if this is how she fights...' Polly thought, thinking she may have made a mistake.
"Boo!" The crowd yelled out, as they grew tired of waiting for the fog to pass. "I payed for THIS?!" A man in the crowd yelled.
"Now, if everyone would calm down... We have people working on it! Please, stay calm!" The announcer said, beginning to worry.
'But if she fights like this... the last rhyme should have done something...' Polly thought, trying to think of why Nevaia would begin to rhyme.
"If you show me how... I'll make a vow" Nevaia said, as the crowd continued to boo.
'The only thing that happened was the... memory... if that's even what that was...' Polly thought, as she felt rushed to come up with a conclusion.
"I promise I'll never cry again." Nevaia sang, as she finished the rhyme.
Polly waited a moment for anything to happen. 'I didn't get any memories during that one...' Polly thought, as she decided the memories had nothing to do with the rhyme.
"Now, behold... my Nursery Rhymes." Nevaia said, as she put her arms in the air and looked up at the sky.
'Nursery Rhymes?' Polly asked herself, wondering if that's Nevaia's ability's name. And as soon as Polly looked up, a drop of rain fell on her left cheek. Polly wiped off the rain drop from her left cheek and another drop fell on her right cheek, and then her forehead, and then rain drop began to fall all around the arena. 'Did she do this...?' Polly thought, asking herself more questions that she can't answer.
"Now I can see you." Nevaia said, as sge began walking towards Polly.
'But her eyes... How can she see?' Polly thought, as she slowly walked backwards.
"Why is there so much fog around?" Nevaia asked, mostly talking to herself.
'She really can see...' Polly thought, trying to understand how Nevaia's ability works.
"That last one was a rhyme from my home..." Nevaia said, as she walked closer to Polly who kept backing further. "Now I'll sing a rhyme that you might know." Nevaia said, as she stopped walking.
'Another one?' Polly thought, feeling confused about why Nevaia wants to sing another rhyme. Polly stopped walking to listen.
"Ring around the rosie... Pockets full of posies..." Nevaia sung, beginning another rhyme.
'What'll happen this time? It's just Ring Around The Rosie...' Polly thought, trying to find a pattern.
"Ashes, ashes..." Nevaia continued, growing closer to the end of the rhyme.
'Wait, I interrupted the first one, and assuming that the memory I saw had nothing to do with it... then that means...' Polly thought, feeling like she figured it out.
"We all fall down." Nevaia finished, as she began walking again.
'Guess I hesitated...' Polly thought, as she missed her opportunity.
"You'll likely understand my ability in a moment... But that's okay." Nevaia said, as she smiled slightly.
"I think I alrea-" Polly said, as she was cut off by being forced to the ground. "Gah!" Polly let out, in surprise. 'Did I fall?' Polly thought, trying to make sense of what happened.
"Alright, folks! We've got someone coming that can blow away the fog! I apologize for the wait." The announcer said, as he picked up the microphone. "Wait! Is it raining now?!" The announcer shouted, as he looked through the glass to see rain everywhere in the arena and that most spectators had left.
'I can't move!' Polly thought, feeling fear. 'My fog should go into effect any second now!' Polly thought, finding some hope.
"Rock-a-bye baby... In the tree top..." Nevaia began singing again.
"Again?" Polly asked, wondering what else is gonna happen.
"When the wind blows... The cradle will rock..." Nevaia continued, as she made her way to stand above Polly.
"I won't let you continue anymore!" Polly shouted, becoming genuinely scared.
"I think I heard some shouting, folks! What could be going on down there?!" The announcer shouted as, he continued to try and see through the misty fog.
"And when the bough breaks... The cradle will-" Nevaia sung, as she was, once again, interrupted by Polly.
"Stop!" Polly shouted, as she struggled to lift her head up to look at Nevaia. "You've lost." Polly said, with a smirk. Nevaia's eyes widened, and as she took one step forward and began to reach down at Polly, she exploded. Nevaia's blood was covering the sand and rocks in the arena, and it was all over Polly too. 'That's great...' Polly thought, as she was released from the weight that Nevaia's Nursery Rhymes had put on Polly. 'There's no shower here...' Polly continued thinking.
"Okay! For the spectators that remain... I've gotten word that they're about to clear the fog!" The announcer shouted, sounding annoyed about the situation. Loud gusts of wind blew as the fog disappeared, and two Harpy's in chains turned around and went through the tunnel that Nevaia had come out of. "What the...!" The announcer said, in shock. "There's no one here, and there's only blood all over the sand... And, what's that?" The announcer said, as he took a closer look. "It's the big coat that Nevaia wore! But it looks destroyed!" The announcer continued, becoming more shocked everytime he took another look. More whispering could be heard in the background. "Apparently, our winner is... Polly!" The announcer shouted, wishing he'd saw what had happened. "She was escorted back to her cell by a guard, and she was covered in blood!" The announcer said, informing the little audience that's left. "But we'll be back in a few hours with the next match! And we'll make sure nothing obscures the arena next time!" The announcer said, hoping that would draw back the audience that had left.
