Amphitrite lays in a bed, holding a new born baby. The door to that room opens and Triton comes rushing in.
"Mother!" Triton shouts, in excitement.
"Triton, you're hear. Is your father with you?" Amphitrite asks, hoping Poseidon was alongside Triton.
"No, he's not with me. But Kymopoleia said she'd drag him here if she has to." Triton explained.
"You children are so good to your father and I." Amphitrite said, hugging Triton with one arm.
"You both do so much for us, mother, we only wish to please you both." Triton said, trying not to make it seem like a big deal.
"Well, we both appreciate everything you've all done for us." Amphitrite said, before she kissed Triton's forehead.
"The others won't be able to join us... They tried but Zeus gave them all a mission, I guess." Triton said, explaining why his other siblings aren't here.
"Well... I suppose it can't be helped." Amphitrite said, trying not to be upset about her other children not arriving. "Why don't you meet your new sister? She's got your father's eyes." Amphitrite said, trying to change the subject.
"Wow, she looks a lot like you." Triton said, holding the baby's hand.
"Sorry we're a bit late." A girl said, walking into the room with Poseidon.
"Kymopoleia, Poseidon, you're both finally here." Amphitrite said, with a smile.
"Wait... Everyone stop moving, let me focus." Poseidon demanded.
"Why, what's wrong?" Amphitrite said, confused of Poseidon's sudden demand.
"Shut up, woman!" Poseidon shouted, angerly. Amphitrite sat in silence. "I knew it..." Poseidon whispered.
"Knew what...?" Triton asked, questioning what Poseidon is talking about.
"That baby... is not our child, Amphitrite." Poseidon said, looking intensely at Amphitrite.
"What do you mean...?" Amphitrite said, scared for her child.
"That child is cursed, I can sense it, it's disgusting." Poseidon said, staring at the baby.
"Father... I can sense it too..." Triton said, not understanding what it means.
"Tell me, Amphitrite, do you feel it as well?" Poseidon said, trying to get Amphitrite on her side.
"...N-No... I don't feel anything!" Amphitrite shouted, holding her baby tightly.
"Amphitrite." Poseidon said, his voice sounding like crashing waves in a storm. Amphitrite flinched from his voice. "That child needs to be disposed of... But-" Poseidon said, getting cut off by Amphitrite.
"I won't let you hurt my child!" Amphitrite screamed.
'Mother is trying so hard to protect that child... even though she reeks of sin.' Triton thought, admiring his mother's care for her family.
"Calm down, Amphitrite. I won't hurt the child, but I'll never call it mine." Poseidon said, trying to calm himself.
"Then... what'll you do?" Amphitrite said, still holding the baby tightly.
"None of us will speak publicly about this child, no servant is allowed to even think of the room she'll reside in, and no one aside from myself will enter and exit the room." Poseidon said, pausing to keep his cool.
"We're gonna... Lock her away...?" Amphitrite said, with a worried voice.
"Yes, it's either that or she dies, which do you prefer?" Poseidon said, asking a rhetorical question.
"F-Fine..." Amphitrite said, feeling sad.
"Mother..." Triton said, worried for his mother.
"The child's name will be Kumopoleia. After a few years, once it happens, we'll lock her away." Poseidon said, mostly talking to himself.
"What do you mean by 'it'?" Amphitrite said, not completely understanding Poseidon.
"It, as in her... transformation, you could call it." Poseidon said, walking over to sit on the bed, next to Amphitrite. "Zeus and I discovered this species about a thousand years ago. This species looked Human, but it felt extremely sinful." Poseidon said, beginning to explain.
"Why do they feel sinful?" Amphitrite asked.
"I don't know. But it doesn't change the fact that they're clearly made up of sin." Poseidon said, answering as best he could.
"I see... I-I guess you're right..." Amphitrite said, having trouble believing any of this.
"Zeus decided to take the two, they called their species 'peppers', it was a boy and a girl, apparently they were the only ones of their kind, I don't really know much of the details." Poseidon said, becoming lost in thought for a moment. "But, Zeus seems to despise this species the most, but all of the Gods seem to dislike them." Poseidon continued.
"Okay... But how is our child a... pepper?" Amphitrite asked, confused on how it's a different species than the parents. "Shouldn't the child be a God, like us?" Amphitrite continued.
"You're correct, that child is a God. But somehow, that no God understands, random babies will change into a pepper when they're born and appear out of the womb. Basically they'll mix species, it seems. We've created a pepper-God mix." Poseidon explained, hoping it makes sense to her.
"How will we know when she's changed?" Amphitrite asked, trying to understand everything she can.
"Because she'll have a desire to look for a male pepper, since she's female." Poseidon said, still explaining as much as he can.
"Will they mate?" Amphitrite asked, still wanting to learn more.
"Likely, but they can't have children, according to Zeus. But it's more for protection, they feel safe with them and that's who they love, nothing means more to them than each other." Poseidon said, explaining what he knew.
"It sounds kind of sweet..." Amphitrite said, trying to find the goodness in the peppers.
"Do not encourage it, you'll only encourage Zeus to end you, he's very strict about the peppers. I've heard he's been raising one, an angel, I don't know much about it though." Poseidon said, having said all he knows.
"Well... It won't be long before she grows up, and then she'll be locked away... huh?" Amphitrite asked, feeling upset about it.
"Indeed, but trust me, it's better this way." Poseidon said, kissing Amphitrite's forehead, then getting off the bed.
"My children, do not speak of this to anyone. And make sure you tell your siblings not to speak of it either." Poseidon said, demanding secrecy to the baby.
"Yes, father." Both Kymopoleia and Triton said, nodding their heads.
The door slowly opened, pepper's curiosity peaked as it opened. 'I wonder what she'll be like? I hope I can protect her.' pepper thought, his expectations went high. pepper stood in the now opened doorway, he looked into the room to see a normal looking room, a dresser on the middle right against a pastel blue wall, an ocean blue bed at the corner of the room, more towards the left. In the center of the room was a coffee table with matching chairs and a cyan table cloth. pepper noticed someone sitting at the table, their hair was long and blue, they seemed feminine, her hair was ocean blue on both sides that went down her shoulders. She wore a light blue swim suit, which covered her chest, pepper couldn't see anything under the table.
"Who... are you...?" The girl asked, shocked by the random person. "I-I mean... um..." The girl stuttered a bit. "H-Hi! My name i-is Kumopoleia! It's very... nice to meet you!' Kumopoleia said, trying to be excited.
"Oh, hi. I'm pepper, it's nice to meet you as well." pepper said, looking at her with deep interest. 'Why do I feel like this...? Her eyes are the same as Poseidon's... she's clearly his daughter. Do I feel like this because she's a God...?'
"Y-You can just... um... call me Leia... if you w-want..." Leia said, still introducing herself.
"Are you okay, Leia?" pepper asked, hoping she's alright.
"Y-Yes! Sorry... It's just... this is my first time... um... meeting someone... other than father..." Leia said, explaining her stutter.
"Leia..." pepper said, feeling bad for her.
"So... I feel this weird connection... between us... Are you... who I've been wanting to see?" Leia said, starting to blush and fiddle with her fingers.
"Well, you aren't looking for specifically me, but if you want, I can be the person you've been wanting to see." pepper said, starting to get nervous, hoping she'll join him.
"Uhmmm... uh... I-I don't know..." Leia said, clearly extremely flustered and confused.
"It's okay, no need to rush yourself, you can take your time, Leia." pepper said, walking into the room. pepper stopped his walking and listened because he thought he heard something.
"I forgot my Trident, can you believe that, Amphitrite?" Poseidon said, talking to Amphitrite from downstairs.
"It's your father, we have to hide!" pepper said, with a worried voice.
"Ah! Uh... umm... Quick! Get in here!" Leia said, as she looked at a wall.
"That's just a wall..." pepper said, confused about what she's doing.
"Hey! Is... Is that door opened?!" Poseidon shouted, from downstairs.
"Melancholia!" Leia said, intensely, causing a door to appear. "You'll be able to get in if I hold the door for you, come on." Leia said, holding the door open for pepper.
"Oh, uh... Okay!" pepper said, rushing into the room.
"We should be safe in here, I think the door disappears once I'm inside." Leia said, sitting in pepper's lap.
"Uh... that's good. Um, this is pretty cramped, don't you think?" pepper said, as he realized there wasn't much room for both of them.
"Huh?" Leia said, as she looked around to notice what pepper means. "Ahh! S-Sorry!" Leia said, trying to stand.
"N-No, it's fine!" pepper said, trying to sit her back down. Leia fell and landed on with her face close to pepper's.
"...Uh... I'm sorry..." Leia said, her face turning red.
"I already said it's fine, you don't need to apologize." pepper said, trying to assure her that everything is okay. "Well... how do we know when he's gone?" pepper asked, mostly trying to change the subject.
"Well... we don't... But, we'll be kicked out of here when that music box stops playing, it lasts about four minutes." Leia said, explaining her closet ability.
"So, this is your ability?" pepper asked, curious of her ability.
"Um... Yeah... I know it's weird..." Leia said, growing embarrassed.
pepper shot a web from his left wrist. "You aren't alone, Leia, I'm weird too." pepper said, with a smile.
Leia's face lit up. "You... You mean... I'm not the only one with weird abilities?!" Leia said, feeling extremely happy.
"Yeah, there's plenty of people like us out there." pepper said, happy to see her smile.
"Father made me think I was weird!" Leia shouted, as she started to cry and hug pepper.
"Leia... It's okay, everything's gonna be just fine, I'll protect you." pepper said, hugging her back.
"So this... is a hug...? It's warm... and nice... it's very lovely." Leia said, crying in pepper's arms.
"Where the hell are they?" Poseidon said, as he looked into the room to see no one. "Damn it, woman! I told you to watch anyone that has the same feeling as her." Poseidon said, growing frustrated. "Have the servants search this whole damned palace, they need to be found!" Poseidon said, demanding a search.
"Are you okay, Leia?" pepper said, as she picked up her head off his shoulder.
Leia sniffled. "Mhm... There's just something I wanna do... But I feel a little... embarrassed..." Leia said, looking away from pepper.
"You don't need to be embarrassed around me, just be yourself and do whatever you want, I only want to see you happy." pepper said, looking into Leia's eyes.
Leia nodded. "Alright..." Leia said, before she kissed pepper. pepper's eyes went wide in surprise, but soon he felt calm and kissed her back.
"Feel better?" pepper said, smiling at her.
Leia smiled back and giggled. "Mhm!" Leia said, then proceeding to hug pepper.
"You like hugs, huh?" pepper said, enjoying the hug with her.
"Yes, they're very nice, it makes me feel like I'm not alone anymore." Leia said, smiling on pepper's shoulder.
"Good, cause you aren't alone anymore, I'll always be there for you." pepper said, still enjoying their hug.
"I wanna... stay with you, pepper... Can I?" Leia asked, wanting to leave the palace.
"Of course, I just said I'd always be there for you, didn't I? I'd only be happier to have you with me." pepper said, assuring her that she's welcome anywhere with him. Suddenly the closet started to shake. "What's going on?" pepper asked, worried for Leia's safety.
"It seems our time in here is up, it's about to kick us out." Leia said, holding on to pepper, tightly. And they both get shot out, pepper used his body to stop her from hitting the ground. pepper looked up to see a guard looking at them, and then he blew into a shell, it didn't seem to make any noise though.
"Are you alright, Leia?" pepper said, worried about her.
"Yes, I'm fine." Leia said, still gripping tightly on to pepper. pepper helped her stand as he stood up himself.
"There isn't much we can do, running will only piss him off more..." pepper said, making sure Leia knows not to run.
"Yeah..." Leia said, holding on to pepper because she's scared.
Poseidon appeared infront of the doorway. "So, I greet you with the most hospitality I have, and you decide to snoop through my palace." Poseidon said, disappointed in himself for letting this happen.
"You told me that I was free to go anywhere in this palace." pepper said, trying to prove he's not at fault.
"How did you even know she was here?" Poseidon asked.
"We can sense each other." pepper answered, starting to hold Leia close to him.
"I see... I didn't know that..." Poseidon said, making sure to note that in his head.
"Father?" Triton said, walking over.
"Not now, Triton. I'm busy." Poseidon said, trying to remove any distractions.
"Ah, Triton, I apologize for throwing you under the bus here, but I never got to thank you." pepper said, looking at Triton. Triton's eyes widened with betrayal. "But, thank you for telling me where the key was, I couldn't have done this without you." pepper continued, feeling bad for betraying Triton's trust. Poseidon looked down at Triton with pure anger, Triton looked up at his father in fear.
"You what?" Poseidon said, staring at Triton.
'Now's our chance!' pepper thought. "Leia... I know what we need to do." pepper whispered.
"Wh-What would that be?" Leia whispered, back.
"It's a technique that some would call it a Star technique..." pepper whispered, looking at Leia.
"What...?" Leia whispered, not understanding what he means.
"What I mean is..." pepper whispered, and paused. "To run away!" pepper yelled, as he grabbed Leia and started to run as fast as he could. pepper ran past Poseidon and Triton, which caused Poseidon to focus on pepper again.
"Hey, get back here!" Poseidon said, as he ran extremely quickly, catching up to the two.
"Aahhh!" Leia screamed, as Poseidon grew closer.
"Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit!" pepper shouted, as he noticed Poseidon gaining on them as they ran down the hallway.
Poseidon stopped running. "pepper..." Poseidon said, calmly.
pepper stopped as well. "...What?" pepper asked, staying cautious.
"I told you that I would let you leave... I realize that I've forgotten about my word, I will not go back on it, and I still intend to bring you home." Poseidon said, thinking he'll regret what he's about to say.
"Alright... What's the catch?" pepper asked, turning around to face Poseidon from across the hall.
"There is no catch, you can take Kumopoleia with you. Just leave, I don't feel like doing all this, and I think I've taken enough lives for no reason in my time." Poseidon said, trying his best to get pepper to believe him.
"And why should I trust you?" pepper asked, unsure of what he should do.
"Because I am a God, I have my pride. I never go back on my word." Poseidon said, hoping that was enough to convince pepper.
"Fine, I trust you." pepper said, holding Leia close and walking up to Poseidon.
"Now, go through this portal, it should take you to your home." Poseidon said, as he placed a portal that was like waves in a stormy night.
"How do you know where my home is?" pepper asked, suspiciously.
"I don't, but you do. It'll take you wherever you call home, as long as you keep Kumopoleia close enough to touch her, then she'll go with you." Poseidon explained.
"I see, well, thank you, sorry it had to be like this." pepper said, as he walked through the portal with Leia.
