Chapter 28 - A lesson for Nancy!

Oliver looked angrily at his darkened cell phone screen.

'This girl is really habitual. Every now and then you have to teach this girl a lesson.' Oliver grumbled to himself as he called Nancy back.

"Hello, Nancy," Oliver said rudely as soon as his call was received.

"What is it again? Hurry up and come home. Don't stay too long. Watch out if you take too long, I'll get angry."

"You're angry. Do I care? Hahaha." Oliver laughed with satisfaction at the irritated tone in Nancy's voice.

"Oh, good. You're already starting to dare to fight me."

"Whatever you want to say. I don't care."

"I'll tell Carla."

"Just say it."

"I'll tell her that you grabbed my pussy in the bathroom yesterday."

"Just say everything. You like it. I don't care anymore. I'm fed up with all your scheming."

Click. This time it was Oliver's turn to unilaterally end the call.

Oliver smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction at having annoyed his sister-in-law again.

Just as Oliver put his cell phone in his pocket, there was a commotion on the front terrace of the café.

A man wearing a black leather vest was threatening one of the waitresses.

"Come with me!" the man in the vest growled harshly as he grabbed the arm of the waitress, whose face was red with fear.

"I don't want to. Please don't force me... I'm not that kind of woman ...." tears began to fall down the waitress's face.

"Don't be pretentious. Don't be a saint. Come quickly, I've booked a hotel room for the two of us. I'll pay, you just relax." The man in the vest seemed impatient to see the waitress crying while clinging to the table.

Instead of helping, the customers around the scene walked away or moved to another table.

They all acted as if they didn't see the incident at all.

From the looks of it, the man in the black vest was probably a local thug. So, everyone was afraid and reluctant toward him.

Not only the customers and fellow servers but even the cafe manager who witnessed the incident was silent and pretended to be busy with whatever he was doing.

Oliver's temper exploded instantly. How could the café manager allow his staff to be treated like that by a customer?

This was clearly harassment!

Oliver jumped from the inside of the café through the open window and rushed straight to the scene of the commotion.

He stood behind the man in the black vest and tapped him on the shoulder in case he attacked him.

The black vest man turned angrily to Oliver. "What?!" He roared angrily.

His spit flew into the air.

"If she doesn't want to, please don't force her," Oliver's voice sounded relaxed and controlled.

There was no overwhelming emotion or unnecessary anger.

The man in the vest took a deep breath as he scrutinized Oliver from head to toe.

"Who are you to meddle in people's business, huh? Are you bored with your life already?" The man in the waistcoat released his grip on the waitress's arm and stood up to challenge Oliver.

"I am the owner of this café. I have the right to protect my employees. You can't force people to do what they don't want to do," Oliver's voice remained unchanged.

Quiet but authoritative.

The man in the vest looked deeply into Oliver's face.

Without fear, Oliver stared back at the man standing proudly in front of him.

Not expecting that Oliver would dare to stare back at him, the man in the vest was surprised for a moment.

With an intimidating face, the man in the vest widened his eyelids as much as possible until his eyeballs looked perfectly round, like in a scene from a horror film.

Oliver smiled wryly inwardly. He had been putting on a casual face because, if possible, he didn't want to cause a scene on his first day of work.

However, the man in the black vest in front of him kept provoking him.

Judging from his confident demeanor, Oliver guessed that this was not the only time the man in the black vest had committed his depraved act of forcing a waitress to be taken to a hotel and satisfy his lust.

Suddenly the man in the black vest laughed loudly. "Hahaha!" He turned his face to the side.

Not knowing what was going on, Oliver glanced at the café manager, who had been doing nothing but watching like any other café customer.

Realizing that the man in the black vest was provoking him by laughing mockingly, Oliver kept his unpredictable facial expression straight.

"You? The owner of this café?" asked the man in the black vest after his laughter had died down.

"Yes. What's wrong?" Oliver challenged boldly.

"Hahaha. Don't think I don't know who you are." A mocking smile spread across the black vest man's face.

Not wanting to be provoked by his opponent, Oliver kept a straight face while trying to guess how much the man in front of him knew about him.

"I know who you are," said the man in the black vest again with a triumphant smile. A moment later, he continued. "You are the son-in-law of the Harvey Family, right? The trashy son-in-law who can only live with his in-laws. Hahahaha...."

Oliver had no idea that his identity could be known to so many people like this. He did remember that Adelia had made a post about him with a photo and published it on social media.

However, Oliver didn't expect it to go this far.

Hearing the black vest man's words, James, the café manager, and Hugo, the barista, burst out laughing from the bartender's table.

"Why are you silent?" This time it was the black vest man's turn to challenge Oliver.

Before Oliver could answer, the man in the black vest had already started shouting again, his voice as loud as the village office's hand holding loudspeaker.

"You pretend to be the owner of the cafe and protect people. Don't think I don't know. You don't even dare to fuck your own wife, and you're pretending to be a hero. Oh... I know now ...."

"What did you say?!" Oliver snapped, who was starting to get angry as the black vest continued to put him in a corner.

"You pretended to defend this girl so you could sleep with her, right? You dirty brain. Don't think I can't guess your intentions. Hahahaha." Once again, the black vest man laughed in satisfaction at his own joke.

Meanwhile, at the bartender's table, James and Hugo, who were satisfied that Oliver was the butt of the joke, were laughing triumphantly without caring that the man in the black vest had harassed one of the café's employees.

Oliver took a deep breath to calm his burning heart.

"I don't care!" said Oliver in a cold voice and flat face. "I ask you to leave my café immediately. Now. Before I change my mind and things get worse!"

"What, before you change your mind? Are you threatening me?" The black vest man leaned toward Oliver.

"I'm not threatening. But, if you think so, it's not my fault!"

"Never in the history of this café has anyone dared to threaten me!" The man in the black vest looked even more frantic.

Oliver shrugged his shoulders while turning his face to the side as if he didn't care.

"Arrrrggghhhh!" The man in the black vest kicked the table next to him over and came forward with his fist swinging right at Oliver's head.
