Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

It didn't take me a long time before I stood outside her house, knocking on the door to Carmen, her little brother and her parents house.

It took them 1 minute to come to the door. Not surprised that it was her mom that opened the door.

She greeted me with a wide smile, inviting me inside before giving me a huge hug. She had always been like a second mom to me, so I always enjoyed coming here as a kid and also now that I'm almost 19.

I walked inside, taking my shoes off. I greeted her dad who was looking at me from the kitchen.

With that I walked upstairs to Carmen's room. This was a routine for me and the others in the family. Me coming over and staying for minutes, hours and even days. They didn't seem to pay much mind to it.

I knocked on Carmen's door when I stood outside of it before entering.

She was, as I had expected, still laying in bed and asleep. Which means I had to wake her.

I groaned loudly to see if that did anything. But, it didn't.

Jumping on the bed expecting the worst outcome and I sat on top of her. She hummed slightly as I did, to show that she knew someone was present.

"Carmen! It's time to wake up," I tried saying while grabbing her shoulders. "We have to go out and eat breakfast as we had planned!"

As if food was a magic word she opened her eyes slowly. Glaring at me at first, but then her face turned into a big smile.

Carmen threw me off of her and hugged me before getting out of bed, to get into the bathroom.

I laughed loudly at this, waiting for her to come out again. I knew it would take a bit, since she's slow.

10 minutes passed and it was now 8:45.

I groaned and got up so I could go over and knock on the bathroom door.

"Please hurry, Carmen. I'm hungry," I pleaded.

She unlocked the door, sneaking her head out. "Yeah yeah, I'm done in 5 minutes. I have to get my makeup done before I go anywhere," she said and laughed at herself.

I hummed and turned on my heel. Being bored as it is, I went downstairs to her parents.

I seated myself in the living room left for Carmen's mom.

"I'm guessing she's not ready yet, right?" her father chuckled. He sat on the chair right from the sofa.

Shaking my head I seated myself more comfortably.

"No, Juan. But who's surprised?" I said in a joking manner.

Juan leaned forward, slapping his knee while he was laughing. I loved seeing and hearing him laugh. I'm really going to miss it.

"Do you hear Skylar, Daniela? She's really something else," Juan said, still laughing.

He put a hand on his wife's leg, trying to stop laughing. Even as over exaggerating it sounds, it's how he is.

"Yes, I did. I still have my hearing, dear," Daniela answered teasingly, putting her own hand on his and caressing the top.

I smiled at this small gesture and as I was about to open my mouth Carmen walked down.

"Are you ready to eat or what?" she asked teasingly.

I got up from the sofa, said my goodbyes to Daniela and Juan, receiving hugs from them both.

I took my shoes on for the second time today and Carmen took her 10cm Demonias on.

I've never understood why she needed such big platforms. She already was 180cm as it was. They did suit her, so I of course was not complaining, since it made her happy.

As familiar as me and Carmen were, there were still so many differences. She was tall, curvy and could look like a model. She had the most beautiful tanned body, long black hair and brown eyes was a charm she had. Her button nose and the slight dimples she got when smiling. Also the slightly crooked teeth, making her have fangs. Every guy I have met has always considered her breathtaking.

For me, I wasn't ugly. I was slim, had gray eyes with a tint of green in them, brown curly hair and pale. I had almost always rosy cheeks, pink lips and a few freckles on the bridge of my nose. I was 168cm so not even the shortest.

I didn't hate myself, I just loved to admire Carmen. She's so pretty as it is already.

I smiled to myself, tucked her arm as we walked out of the door and down the street. I loved her so much. I could never ask for a better friend than her.

"What are we thinking today, Sky?"

Her words pulled me out of my thoughts and I looked at her. "I don't know, just some casual breakfast. I'm just hungry, so anything you'd like."

She grinned widely. I knew what she thought and where she was now dragging and rushing me.

Sunny Point Café, it was her favorite when it came to breakfast.

I groaned loudly and laughed. With that we were now running and I couldn't do anything.
