Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

It was now 5pm and we were packing my dad's car, getting ready to drive to New Haven. It would take around 14 hours for us to drive and I really don't know why we didn't take the plane, but my dad seemed invested in us all taking this drive. Oliver and Emma were also going with us, for a reason, even when I only had to go to college.

I loved the small gesture though, considering how long the drive was, I don't understand why they want to go with me on it.

"Are you excited?" Emma squealed behind me, making me jump slightly but she didn't notice this.

"Of course I am, Emma. But I'm going to miss you and the others," I said. Clear sadness in my voice, but I was happy to leave the town as well. She knew that, everyone did.

She looked at me with her green eyes, they were a little glassy but I knew it was because she would miss me. She had visibly red hair, but it was so pretty to her and it really complimented her. With this she had beautiful freckles, a small nose and rosy cheeks.

Oliver came up behind me, wrapped his arms around my shoulders. "No need to get so emotional, Skylie," he teased, but he said it with care.

He was tall, defined and had dyed black hair. He had very blue eyes, with a tint of green. He didn't have any freckles, but he did have high cheekbones, a defined jaw and a sharp nose like our dad. He looked so much like our dad, but he would never admit to it.

I huffed. "I'm not. It's just a long way from home and you know how I feel about that," I told him.

I could feel he nodded and so did Emma. They both knew I didn't like staying away from them for too long. I hated to leave dad as well, I was going to miss them so much.

"Enough emotional talk, let's get on the road," our dad said, coming up beside us and getting into the car.

I sat myself in the passenger seat and Emma and Oliver took the backseats. Our father of course was in the driver's seat. And with that we were off.

10 hours later

"Move your leg, Oliver!" Emma screamed. "I can't be here and I want my space."

"Oh stop being a cry baby, I'm just chilling here," Oliver exclaimed, not paying any mind to Emma's distraught voice.

"Can you guys please stop, we're almost there and this has been on for 2 hours. I want at least a little sleep before we're there," I complained, turning my head to them. "It's just 4 hours, please."

I smiled at them, there was a sight of apologetic frowns on their faces. "Of course, Sky," they said.

My father snickered, had his fun but I could tell he was getting tired too. I had tried to talk him intime driving for a bit so he could rest, but he didn't budge. Oliver had tried too, but as stubborn our dad is, he wouldn't let us.

We finally drove in silence and I could rest. Even if it only was 4 hours, I needed it.

It was 5am right now and we would be at the school around 9-10.

I fell asleep with music in my ears and everything went back to black.

I was woken up by Oliver hovering over me, shaking me awake. A sweet smile was on his face.

"We're here, Sky."

I went up to rub my eyes because of the burning light. That was sure a good sleep I had, because when my hand went down to my cheek, I felt a little streak of drool. It wasn't anything major.

"Thank God, I need to stretch my legs," I complained, jumping out of the car. I made a very pleased sound when I got out. Stretching and yawning. "That was one hell of a drive. Let's not do that again, dad." Humor was clear in my voice, my dad laughed loudly.

But without thought a pair of eyes catched my attention.
