Chapter 15 - The First Epic Battle!

After waking up my worst fear didn't end up happening. So either no one cares about some eggs and a box appearing in a baby's room. Or no one cares about me and my sibling enough to check in on us. I slept right until the sun started to peak up over the hills and shine through my window.

After being up for about 10 minutes and admiring the beautiful sunrise, I heard something that I shouldn't have heard in an infant's room.

*Sqeak*

I really hope that is my mother's way of talking, or maybe when I turn my head around and look at the rocking chair I see someone sitting in there.

As soon as I turn my head to look towards the corner of my room to look at the rocking chair, I see a beast of a man sitting on the rocking chair with a tiny blanket on him. The blanket was blue and had some weird symbols and the corner was written in yellow thread. He also had a pillow that was originally in my crib near my feet.

After looking at the man for a minute I noticed that he looked just as handsome as a man who should be married to my mom would look like. He had short spiky red hair, and a nice goatee with a mustache, but was very patchy on his sides. He looked like he was ripped with muscle and I could see a disgusting amount of red chest hair clawing its way out of his tight shirt.

Thinking everything was fine I was about to turn my head back to look out the window but I heard that squeaking sound again.

*Sqeak*

But this time I was looking at the man in the rocking chair, and he didn't move. But something right below him did.

Right below him was the biggest rat I'd ever seen. The rat was easily 10 lbs. It was solid black and had solid black eyes. The claws on it were almost an inch long, and the tail alone was easily 2 feet long. It crawled out of a hole in the wall that was in the corner of the room that wasn't there last night.

Terrified that the rat might attack the man, or even worse me or my twin I decided to take a risk.

I summoned my familiar to fight and kill the rat. That or at least keep it busy while I screamed for an adult to come to us, or wake the man up in the chair, who may or may not be my father.

'Cat come out of my shadow and attack the rat on the floor.' i said in my head, I don't know if a day-old baby should be speaking as much as I would if I said it out loud.

Jumping out of my shadow the cat landed on the railing of my crib before leaping down onto the rat. Then the battle ensued.

Since this was my cat's first battle I thought it would be on the losing end since most rats at that size would have some experience fighting. But I was proven wrong by the little guy. He knew exactly how to use his claws while going for the eyes, and watching for the rat's claws.

After they started to fight in the middle of the room, the rat got the upper hand by using a skill and scratching my familiar. How did I know it was a skill? Simple really, when someone scratches someone and misses by about three inches, normally there is no damage, but since my cat still took damage, it meant the rat used a skill.

That scratch alone made my cat shrink by half an inch. I wasn't sure if my familiar knew how to use his skills or not so I had to come up with a plan for my cat to land a lethal hit since he had only one offensive ability and only enough mana to use it once.

Figuring out my plan I told the cat to get on top of the rat no matter what. So what did the cat do? He ran towards the dresser! Before I could have a heart attack thinking my only ally was running away, the car jumped onto the side of the dresser, before springboarding off it and landing on top of the rat.

Before the cat could roll the cat off, I order the cat to bit and latch onto the neck of the rat, which he promptly did. Ordering the cat to use his only offensive skill [Void Slash] on the rat's neck, the battle came to an end with the rat's guts falling out of its neck, due to the cat pushing the organs out from standing on the rat, admiring its prey.

'Since when did you grow pride? I thought you were a normal thoughtless summon. How are you able to calculate and think for yourself? Not hating or anything, if anything that's awesome, but why did you act so stupid when I wanted you to plant the seed?" I said while getting agitated.

Why did my summon make things so complicated for me? All I got back in response from the cat was an eye roll before he stepped off the rat and walked underneath the bed and continued to ignore me.

Well on to important business, now that my first great battle has ended, we obviously have to check out my rewards. Killing the rat gave me and the cat each 10 EXP. I don't know if it was split or I also get the same amount of EXP but that's something to check out later. Anyways let's check out my rewards.

As this was all happening, someone inside the room's had their lips curling up into a smile for a few seconds before returning back to normal without anyone noticing
