"I don't care if you move around in your most divine form, all I want to know is how you let the future queen be corrupted by the damned energy". King raised his voice.
Xavier could sense the anger and disappointment in his voice.
He moved back getting on one knee, bowing his head.
"Am sorry Father?" he said. The King sighed gazing down at him.
"Is it my fault, I kept you so busy with official matters that you had no time to be with her?" he asked.
"Partly," said his son. The King chuckled getting up.
"Raise," he said and Xavier got up, "I might have acted selfish the previous days but your mother made me see things differently, if it's her time to go....." he fell silent.
"Father, we need to work together to find a solution for Mother and I might have found one for now" he muttered.
The king's face lightened up, "Go ahead".
"Blood," he said.
Confused the king repeated it, "Blood, what do you mean?"
"We need blood from Liana's heart"
"Huh? I thought you didn't want to hurt her?".
"killing her is out of the question, we just need to get little blood from her heart. This can help the mother's body be able to get the strength to heal itself" he explained.
"Can you watch your beloved go through that pain, Avel? I know you too well son you can accept this, we both know how painful it is getting blood from the heart" said his father.
Xavier gazed back at his father frowning.
"Who told you about this?" he asked.
Xavier gritted his teeth, "Liana"
"Oh, I didn't think she would put her life in danger for your mother," said the king.
"Not everyone is like your father, especially her" his son retorted.
"Hmmm, and she is sure it will work?"
"Mmm, something fully changed her when she was down there. Trinidad's memories have fully returned. And through them she saw how they used that to help her people with mother's condition" he answered.
"But son, your mother's condition is different. She was human, not immortal or demon but human. So how infallible are you that her idea will work?"
Xavier sighed, "Instead of a dunce right now Father with your useless question, why don't you let her try? She wants to help" The king could see his son get angry. "As you said I was against it but she knows how precious mom is to us especially you and was willing to go through that pain for her....and no matter how much I hate it I need to respect her decision. So Father I suggest you do the same"
Xavier turned after he was done and walked away leaving his father in the throne room.
...
"My dear angel you don't have to do this" Liana sat next to the queen.
She smiled, "Your like a sweet mother to me and an important person in the life of the man I love so dearly. Mother please don't worry I want to do this".
"But the king said it's a painful affair, I don't want you to go through any pain for me " the Queen breathed.
"But I want to, and after what you both have done for largely Xavier. I would do anything for him" she said.
The queen closed her eyes holding Liana's hand, her warmth radiating into Liana.
"Where are they?" she questioned.
Liana glanced back at the door and sighed, " We'll the procedure isn't easy and not only painful for me but you too. Dad and Xavier can't bare to see both of us in pain"
The queen chuckled, "Obsessed men we have"
The physician and her two helpers got closer telling them what to do so they could start.
Minutes later Xavier frowns, his hand sliding to his chest.
His father worried and got closer, "Are you alright son?"
"Liana..." he muttered "I can sense her ache, she's trying to hold it in but I can still feel it"
His father smiled as he gently tapped his back, his other hand moved to his chest too.
"I can feel your mother's pain too"
Xavier blinked, "You never told me that"
"Because no one knows not even her," his father said
"When did it start?" he asked.
Sitting next to him the king smiled, "It started with you"
"Huh?"
"I don't know how it happened but on the night she gave birth, I felt every ounce of pain that went through her body" he chuckled, "and son it was the most painful thing I have ever felt in all my existence".
Xavier snickered.
"So if you're sure you do share her pain then I suggest you get prepared before it arrives" his father whispered.
