Liana walked back to her room in silence, thinking about what the Queen had said. After seeing Liana pale she laughed & said it was a joke. They were only preparing for Avel to become the crown prince officially.
She sighed laying down.
If Xavier became crown prince then he would need to have a crow princess. But she knew even if he wanted to they would not let him make her the next crown princess.
She heard the door open and looked up to see Xavier walk in. He frowned seeing her laying on the bed with a pale face.
"Are you okay?" he sat down next to her.
"Mmm," she muttered.
"Then why do you look so pale" he touched her face.
Closing her eyes she let his warm fingers trace her skin.
"If you feel unwell let me know, you haven't fully recovered to go around that much yet" he said.
She smiled but before she could say anything more Liana disappeared.
Xavier frowned getting up.
"Liana" he called but no one answered.
,....
"It's been hours since she disappeared and no one has seen her yet" The queen turned to his troubled son.
Since he told them about Liana disappearing he had not said a word again.
They had searched the whole palace, outside and inside it, the King had to use his power to search the whole underworld, but still got nothing.
"That means she isn't on this plane," he said. "Maybe she got tired and returned home" he smirked.
His wife slapped him hard on the back, "Shut that evil mouth of yours and go away" she said.
He frowned, "But this is my throne room"
"So? I said leave" she glared.
He glanced at his quiet son then back at his angry wife then walked out with a sigh.
"Son, maybe you try checking back on the human plane, she might have left and one back home," she said.
"Did you say anything to her?" he finally looked up.
"No, maybe about your coronation and wedding"
"Wedding? What wedding?" he frowned.
"Yours and hers, I said it was taking I long and should soon happen. But she looked so scared it made her pale" she answered.
He got up and walked away.
"Hi, what's wrong, did I say anything wrong?" she yelled but Xavier continued walking out.
...
Liana felt her body move and before her eyes opened she fell.
"Ouch!" she cried in pain. Looking around to find herself not on the bed but in a garden. A garden she knew too well. "Home, why am I here!?" she got up looking around.
Slowly she walked to the door and knocked but no one answered. Moving she opened it and walked in.
"Mom?" she called. It was so empty and quiet that it scared her.
She heard noise from upstairs and moved to check who it was.
The door to her parent's room was open and she moved calling her mother.
She stopped when her eyes landed on Lucian. She froze seeing what he was doing.
Holding a pillow over their mother, he was pushing it down with all his strength, suffocating her. She was fighting to push him off but was too weak to do so.
"Lucian" she finally found her voice running to where he was.
His cold emotionless eyes turned to where she was but his hands didn't move
"Get off her". She tried pushing him away.
He didn't bulge and pushed her away, "You love spoiling my plans don't you, but not this time" he laughed.
Liana looked up from where she had fallen, getting up she rushed back to him grabbing his arms and putting pressure on the pillow but he laughed even more.
"Just like a remember, weak and pathetic. You should stop doing this it makes you look stupid..." he shifted finally letting go of the pillow and turned to her, slapping her hard across the face. She fell back crying in pain.
"Don't you ever stop, helping those who cause harm to you? Don't you ever feel it's time to think about yourself...he moved grabbed the sheets from the bed and grabbed her arms tiering them around her hands and then legs, she fought but he was stronger. She lay back helpless now as she cried for him to stop.
He glanced down at her and laughed going back to the bed. His mother moved looking up at him, her eyes teary, he licked his lips ignoring the pillow.
"This is taking too long, let me just do this "he bent down grabbed his mother's neck and applied pressure.
Liana cried begging him to stop, she could see her mother's hands getting weaker as she tried to fight for her life.
"It's all her fault this is happening to me, she stood aside and watched him make me do this....then acted like she was a victim too" he yelled"
"Please... Lucian... Stop... Stop she's going to die" Liana cried trying to move.
A tear ran down her mother's eye as she took her last breath. Her hands slid off Lucian's as he moved back huffing.
"I love you mother" he muttered, tears streaming down his face. Liana dropped down crying, she didn't know why it hurt when her mother never showed any affection towards her.
But the last day she had talked to her, was when she finally knew what her mother had been going through too.
"She apologized, .....for what she did..." cried Liana.
"Apologized, when did she ever... Maybe to you but never to me. I was always the one who did their dirty work and when I had no more use.... What did they do?.. Throw me away.....pushing me away to other countries to live like an animal" he cried getting to where she was.
She glared with years in her eyes, "She never cared Liana, you need to stop being stupid and finally see it".
"You killed her... When she had finally accepted what she had done" she cried.
He chuckled getting up and glanced at his mother's body.
"Mother would never say that she was a cold, selfish person who died alone as she deserved," he said.
Liana felt her body tremble as he watched her brother laugh.
