Chapter 95 - Healed.

The doctor visited after a few days and advised Joy to get crutches to help her move around since her waist now was better.

Joy could now move around without bothering Gerald to help her. He had kept around, helping and taking care of her while he worked on his laptop, only when necessary did he go to the company.

Liana and Xavier had not visited for days which had made Joy worried but after calling and hearing her voice she stopped worrying.

Gerald was busy on his laptop doing his work when Joy woke up from her nap. She had slept off after having lunch.

"Awake?" Gerald asked.

"How long did I sleep?" she asked.

"Three hours," he said.

"Ahh, am getting lazy " she yawned.

He chuckled.

"All I have been doing is eating, sleeping, and watching movies or playing games. If I don't stop this I will turn into a fat lazy unemployed girl "

Gerald laughed. "Don't laugh at me, am being serious right now " she frowned.

"Am sorry, hungry?" he asked and she nodded. "Let's have some watermelon then " placing his laptop aside he got up and headed to the kitchen.

Joy got her crutches and followed him. Sitting next to the kitchen counter. She watched as he cut them into edible pieces, placed them in a bowl, and served her.

She took a piece and smiled, "Juicy " taking another she positioned it in front of his mouth, "have some "

Gerald opened his mouth and took it, "Sweet" he said looking at her. She giggled and continued eating.

"What are we having for dinner?" she asked.

"Dinner won't be made by me tonight," he said.

She looked up, "oh, is it me cooking, I can since my movement is move stable "

He shook his head, "No, we are eating out tonight. you have been indoors for too long it's time you get out "

Joy jumped up excitedly, "Really " but the sudden jump sent her still healing ankle off balance, "Oh, oh..." she yelled falling, Gerald ran around the counter to her side.

"Careful, your ankle isn't okay yet," he said holding her.

Joy looked up at him, her heart was racing from the slip but it quicken when his arms held her. Gerald was looking down at her with a smile.

"You got so excited you forgot about your ankle," he said.

"It's just that it's been so long since I left the house so am excited " Joy let out.

"Am glad your smiling more now " he said.

Joy could see the emotions in his eyes as he said those words, still holding her with his face close to hers.

Slowly he pulled her up and back into her seat.

"Finish your watermelons, I need to complete my work too before we leave," he said.

She nodded and watched him walk to the couch and go back to work.

Joy sighed silently, was her heart healed that fast? Since Gerald started getting close to her, the pain and numbness in her heart had slowly disappeared. Now all she wanted was to be close to him and let him care for her.

But then she frowned, For the past few days Joy had tried to get close to him but Gerald seemed to be pulling away and not letting anything happen.

She knew what he said was true, they were different but she didn't care now or ever did. Her feelings for him were growing each day they spent together and his not wanting to respond to them was driving her crazy.

She was almost healed now, so that meant he would soon return to his normal life since there would be no excuse to look after her or get close.

Looking down at the perfectly sliced pieces of watermelon she smiled again. He had treated her so well she didn't want anything to change now, this way of living and having him by her side was what she wanted now.

..

Liana was doing something on her phone when she heard something fall upstairs. Xavier had been acting weird again, but he tried to hide it from her.

Liana had not asked waiting for him to tell her what was wrong, but it's been weeks and he said nothing.

"Xavier are you okay," she said.

"Am..am fine " he answered.

Liana got up and walked up the stairs, he was locked in the bathroom. She knocked, "Hi, are you really okay " she knocked.

He didn't answer but the noise was getting worse.

She tried to open it but the door was locked," then open the door, you're scaring me with all the noise " she said.
