Chapter 3 - A New Creature

(Thunderclouds...Lightning striking)...(A voice in the background)

Skull...Dust...Blood...Scars! Not once had the darkness been conquered, not once had the red skies become clear...for the land had been so barren, filled with trees, flowers so withered away, and the soil so hot like the fire from the dawn of creation. A kingdom that had been ruled by a supreme ruler where no one ever went against his wishes. The ancient kingdom...the land of misery...the Kingdom of CHAOS!!! (Lightning striking).

(Voice slowly fading away)...

News was being brought to Death regarding the prisoner he was holding captive. A skeleton soldier was knocking at Death's door... "My King! I was seeking an audience. There was a report that required your attention," he said. Death ordered his guards to let him in. The soldier was scared about how his ruler would react to the current situation, so he humbled himself and bowed before him, choosing his words carefully. "Oh Death, the beloved Ruler of Chaos! The immortal soul of darkness and the Supreme King of the dead." Death was sitting down and was asking him why he had rushed over to his abode.

"My king! The human was no more," he said, lowering his gaze. Death stood up upon hearing this and walked closer to him. "What do you mean?" Death replied in a devilish tone. The skeleton soldier was trembling upon hearing his voice. He was aware he could not show any weakness to Death, or he wouldn't like what would come next. "I suddenly heard her scream where we had placed her in chains and cage...when I had gotten in, I found her in a pool of blood with her body scattered all around. None of it could be recognized as it was all burnt beyond recognition," the skeleton soldier said in a fearsome tone.

Death was furious with the report he had gotten, but he knew there was nothing he could do about it since he did not wield the power of Life. That was the only weakness he possessed despite having so many abilities. He was returning to his seat and heaving a heavy sigh. He was disappointed as he had plans of his own in which he needed the human. "Dispose of her!" he was saying furiously. The skeleton soldier was obeying him without any resistance nor interruption and had left his presence. As soon as he left, Death was scattering his place in anger. "That was my only way out! The blood of Windsom was my only way out!" he was yelling out loudly.

A few moments later, Anna's burnt body was being brought over to the Pit. The Pit was a place in Chaos where dead bodies were placed to decay away. The skeleton soldiers were throwing her into the pit and then returning. However, someone was hiding behind a huge stone, watching them as they were carrying out their business. After the soldiers had left, he was sneaking out and walking over to the edge of the Pit. "It's not too late...there's still life in her but barely. I have to save her," the stranger was saying in a concerned manner. He was bringing out the burnt body and wrapping it up in white glowing silk. "You're going to be fine, Anna...you will be," he was saying as he was carrying her burnt body and carefully leaving the Pit.

Meanwhile, Death was summoning all of his subjects into a royal gathering in order to discuss his next course of action. "I see you have all gathered," Death was saying in a devilish tone while he was sitting on his throne and holding his Scythe. "I know you all must've been curious about our uninvited guest." They were all looking at one another. Death was standing up and hitting his Scythe on the ground...immediately everywhere was becoming dark as if there were never a source of light. They were all bowing before him.

"The human had been our only way out, and she had died right in the dungeons. Such would not be accepted... Scourge every sector and territory! Find out who had killed my prisoner and bring his head before me!" Death was commanding his army with a cold look in his eyes. They had naturally known their King was furious. They had all obeyed his command and were beginning the search. Azazel was coming forward and bowing before him. He was saying, "My King, I shall return to the barren lands and keep watch over our Kingdom." Death was sitting down and ordering him to do so. Azazel was leaving his presence.

Death was all alone, but suddenly he was starting to hear whispers and claw movements all around him. "Who dares stand before the immortal ruler of Chaos?!" Death was saying in a devilish tone as he was gripping his scythe firmly.

"Finally! My time has come! I have waited for two thousand years... my patience is finally rewarded!" A woman in a ripped dress covered in blood was walking out of the darkness. Her hair was looking like stacks of needles and her claws were as long and sharp as sharpened blades. Death was laughing hysterically and was standing up from his throne. "You wish to end me?" he was saying while he was dragging his scythe on the ground and was walking towards her, making a scary noise enough to intimidate anyone. "After all these years, you have finally walked up to me. You had hidden in your barrows, so why are you coming now? Were you waiting for the moment when my army was no longer by my side? Are you finally ready to die, Althea?" he was asking while emitting a powerful aura strong enough to make his opponents yield in fear.

(Note: Althea is one of the witches of the Hallows. They once believed in Death and used to rever him until he destroyed them all leaving only Althea to live in fear. It was a show of his supremacy over two thousand years ago).

"You were taking everything from me! I was now a monster, and I couldn't even use witchcraft anymore. I had been cursed...everything was dying when I passed by. I didn't belong anywhere, and it was all because of you!!!" Althea was replying to Death in an angry manner. She had been harnessing her hatred for Death for over two thousand years, and she could no longer see anyone except her goal. Death was her salvation. She was running towards Death, ready to strike him, but she never expected what was happening next. "Aztēk!" Death was suddenly shouting while he was pointing his scythe at her.

(Note: Aztēk is a huge mythical snake who is loyal to Death and serves him without questioning his orders).

Althea immediately knew she was losing the battle. She was falling to her knees, losing all hope of having her revenge. A huge black snake with golden eyes, which possessed the wings and scales of a dragon, was suddenly emerging from Death's cloak and jumping fiercely at Althea. It was ripping her apart and throwing various parts of her across the hall. Her blood was moving toward Death himself, and he was absorbing it. Death was returning to his throne and sitting on it as he watched her being eaten by the Great Snake. "Separate her liver and her heart; she will make a nice piece of experiment," he said in a devilish tone.

A few moments later...

"Why was this happening to me? Why did I have to go through this?" she was crying a lot while holding her hand to her chest. In that moment, her skin was peeling, her muscles were tearing apart, and blood was gushing down like a fountain of water. Her eyes were beginning to bleed, and her eyeballs were popping out. Her hair was falling off, and her bones were cracking as if she was about to transform. Anna was screaming in agony as the pain was so intense. Her neck was suddenly slicing open, and blood was pouring down. She was holding her hands to it and gasping for air.

Then, Anna suddenly woke up from the nightmare she was having. She was sweating profusely as she gasped for air. The stranger who had rescued her was suddenly running to her and patting her on the back. "Calm down, Anna, it was just a nightmare. You're okay," the stranger was reassuring her.

Anna was finally regaining control of her mind. Her vision was becoming clear as she was looking around and noticing she was in a cave. There was a campfire, and right in front of her was a blonde-haired man with blue eyes who looked too handsome to be real. The cave looked like a hideout that had been used for several years. She was lost in thought as the man was calling her name several times, but she didn't respond. "Anna! Anna! Is everything alright?" the man was saying as he held her right hand. Anna was coming back to reality and looking directly into his eyes as she saw he was sincerely worried about her.

"Do you know me?" Anna was asking with a curious look. She also noticed she was completely healed, and there was not one trace of a scar on her body. "What happened to me? I'm sure my body was ripped apart...I should've..." The man interrupted before she could complete her statement.

"Yes, you did die. Your body was burnt and torn apart, but there was still a source of life left, so I figured it was not too late for you. I was wondering why that was possible, though. You seemed so...human," he was saying as he was trying to understand what kind of creature she was, but he was convinced she was human. Anna was surprised as soon as she heard this, but she was more concerned about the identity of the man who had saved her life. The man was standing up and walking toward the campfire. He was taking a rusted sword from the ground and equipping his bow and arrow, which were quite rusted too. He had about ten arrows left, which made it seem like he was a warrior who had just returned from war.

"I'll be right back... take a lot of rest and stay away from the cave walls. You're safe as long as you heed my words," he was saying as he walked toward the entrance. Anna was standing up and suddenly calling out to him: "I'm really grateful for everything you have done for me, but who are you? And how do you know my name?" The man was smiling at her, and suddenly huge wings were emerging from his back. They were tainted with bloodstains.

"I'm an Angel of the Lord," the man had replied in a calm manner with a soothing voice. Anna had been speechless upon hearing this as she had known her life was now going to be more complicated than it already was. She had smiled and cried at the same time, with a lot of emotions running through her in that moment. "I'm glad I never gave up on life," she had said with a sad look on her face.
