Back at Xavier's room, he was still in his thoughts when relles came in, he hooped on the bed before talking
"Seems like you're thinking on your next plan"relles said but Xavier didn't answer
"What's it, tell me"
"Your not going to tell me?" He asked again
"What did you tell her" Xavier finally said "I told you not to pass through that door"
"Nothing, just checked up on her"
"How's she?" He asked with a look of concern on his face replacing the dark one
"She's doing okay"
"That's a lie, remember I can feel her emotion cause of the bond"
"If you know, then why ask"
"I want to call her back, will it be right?"
"The 'Almighty' Lord Xavier is asking me if he's right in his decision? That's a first"
"You said you wanted to hate her, doing this won't help"
"I don't think I can ever learn to hate her"
"Are you planning on confessing your feelings"
"Have she agreed to Jordan's offer already"
"He gave her till next week to think about it"
"And you think she'll agree to it"
"With how everything is now, yes. I mean, he promised her a wage of three silver coins and twenty bronze coins and the work s less stressful compared to the one here"
"So I should increase her wages"
"I never said so"
"Then what?"
"Figure it out, Mighty Xavier"
"I don't know what's going on in her head"
"Ask her yourself"
"What?"
"Nobody stopped you from seeing her, you did"
"—"
"Admit it already, you miss her"
"I never denied it, I'm just sacred the witches will find her and use he against me"
"And I've said, you can keep her safe, only you can, I'm sure she doesn't even plan on killing you"
"There's a spell that can compel one into doing things relles"
"Keep her safe with you then"
Hazel was at her room, she was resting and preparing herself for lunch. She sets an alarm so she could have a twenty minutes rest before heading back to the kitchen when she heard a knock on her door and it was Collins
"The Lord calls you"
It shocked Hazel a bit as she thought of why Xavier wanted to see her
"Alright I'm coming"
"Take your time"
'Wow, that's a first" she thought
Few minutes later, Hazel arranged her dress once again before leaving to see Xavier. This will be the first time in three days she would see him. She knocked on his room door and she heard a faint 'come in'
She opened the door and caught him sitting on his desk, then she lollop towards him as she felt uncomfortable as he stared at her
"You called for me"
"Yep" he said "its been days we last saw"
"Is this your reason of calling for me, I mean I never thought you would want to see my face anymore"
'Relles' Xavier gritted in his thoughts
"I heard you want yo leave to the Smith's mansion"
"Yes, I'm planning to but I haven't made up my mind"
"And are you planning on going"
"By next week, I would have made up my mind"
"What entices you there that isn't here"
"Let's start with the fact that I wouldn't be insulted again and then the job will be less stressful and the money is much better"
"And if I resist you from going"
"You can't, like you said, our relationship isn't like before anymore"
"You still bear in mind that I know you're a witch"
"I didn't forget"
"Then if you leave I'll expose you"
"Didn't think you'll use such petty methods, but I aren't leaving for the main time but when I make up my mind next week and I choose yo leave, I will, don't care if you expose me"
"You've turned brave just within a few days"he said and she just shrugged "I'm serious Hazel, you will not leave this mansion"
"I aren't your maid any longer, you don't get to decide for me"
"You know I've been wanting to kill you and I can still do it"
"I'm not stopping you"
"…"
"Can I leave, I'll soon be called at the kitchen" she asked but Xavier didn't answer, she took it as ayes and left.
The moment she closed the door, she took in a deep breath, she has used all her courage to talk to him calmly.
After calming herself, she left to the kitchen.
Xavier was still surprised, he never meant to threaten her but he felt like she would stay if he did but she was so brave. He however picked up the things she said she didn't like in the Manson and acted in it. He called Collins and told him to make Hazel one of the head cooks and he promised to increase her wages.
When Hazel got to know about the quick promotion, she declined it
"Thank you Sir Collins but I prefer my current job"
"Its the Lord's order"
"And its something I can accept or not and I don't accept it"
"You're now rejecting my offer" Hazel was caught off guard as Xavier walked into the kitchen "you can go Collins, I'll take it from here" Collins left afterwards
"There's nothing to take from anywhere, I'm very busy at the moment"
"I'm sure the Lord wouldn't mind, now follow me" he said with a bit of humor in his voice
"To where"
"You'll see" and he grabbed her hands but she flinched the moment he held her "what's wrong with your palm"
"Just some brises and blisters, nothing to worry about"
"What caused it" he said in his cold voice "what or who caused it"
"I was weeding"
"Who told you to"
"Ma'am Decron, it was a punishment"
"A punishment? She was trying to take revenge"
Hazel lost it that moment
"You gave me a punishment that led to a fever remember and by the way, why do you care. I've always asks you this and you say I'm your responsibility and stuffs like that but I'm not anymore and moreover you didn't want to see me just because you found out I was the girl that you were searching for and just passed a judgement in me knowing fully well I had no idea of it. You were acting like I've tried killing you before. I now see why people hate you and I'm beginning to also. Very stupid of me to see think that a demon can change, because no matter what, he will always be that demon he is"
"..."
"Excuse me, Milord" she pulled her hands from his grip and left him there still reflecting in her words
'She's just beginning to, she doesn't hate him yet' he hated the fact that she was beginning to see him as a demon. This was all relles fault, what the hell did he tell her
Hazel was back at the kitchen doing her work even though Collins had told her to stop. To her, she was going to leave anyways so there was no need for it. The mocking and insults still continued during her work time at the kitchen but as usual, she ignored all of them. Later that evening, Jordan came to check on her.
