The Arcane bird elder hadn't discovered Amos who was at the side. Its attention was on the newborn that was crying out for food. With a swipe of its wings, the young hatchling was put into its embrace before its then took off.
"Phew." Amos let out a sign of relief the moment the bird was out of sight.
The others were also in relief as they didn't want to get into a fight with any of the elders. For a beast to have become an elder, it ranks must be above S rank.
And from the aura emanating from the body of the four elder Arcane bird, their level should be of the SSS rank, closer to the level of a star beast.
However, their relief came too soon as they all suddenly felt all the hair on their skin stood on end.
"Run!" No one knows who had let out the cry of warning. Everyone immediately dashes away from their actual spot. Turns out that the Arcane bird elder hadn't fully left, but was still in the air scanning the surrounding for any abnormalities. Amos last sigh relief was unfortunately heard by the bird, which uncovered his location.
"Screech!" The jarring cries of the Arcane bird resonated through the whole valley. The three elders who were still napping heard the alert cries of their partner and immediately flew over.
"Oh my goodness. Why am I so unlucky?" It was he, who was bitten by a green viper snake during their last outing. Now, he has four angry SSS rank beasts chasing behind him. Amos could only cry in despair as he kept running atop his full speed.
The entrance out of the valley had already been blocked by one of the towering birds. Now, their only option was to keep running deeper into the valley. The option of flight was already canceled out, seeing the three bird flying up in the sky.
Xue Yiran summoned out Sky and swiftly jumped onto its back. She then reached for the closet person to her, which fortunately enough was Ian and pulled him over Sky's back.
"Thanks." Ian uttered out a word of gratitude.
"Keep on running." Tyron hand wrapped around Miley's waist as he pulled her over to his mount.
Perhaps seeing that the trespassers were escaping, the three elder Arcane birds became furious. How dare these little people come to their laying ground to steal their descendants.
At the same time, the three of them launches a mental attack.
The barrier protecting Xue Yiran mental consciousness shattered like broken glasses. A sharp pain she had never felt before coursed through her mind. Her head felt like it was about to burst opened.
"Ptui." She vomited out a mouthful of blood.
"Are you okay?" Ian saw Xue Yiran condition and held her with a panicked expression on his face. Surprisingly, his expression was fine, seeming not to have felt the mental attack from the three beasts.
"I'm alright." Sky body trembled, as he had also felt the impact of the attack. But with his life at stake, he had to keep on running.
"How are we going to distract them?" Jose was panting from fear as he shouted out this question. He could feel that the contract beast below him was already trembling from fear. This was due to the pressure of higher-level beast.
"Let me think about it." Tyron had never thought that one day, they would attract the attention of the four guardian Arcane birds. All the time they've been here, their mission had always been smooth sailing. Who would have thought that things would go out wrong today.
"I see an opening over there." Atlas shouted, as he spotted a cave in the distance. "The entrance is small enough to keep the birds outside."
"Okay. Let's head over there." Tyron decided.
Everyone began to race to the direction Atlas pointed at. Despite the location being close by, it felt as if they were running thousands of miles just to get to their destination. Each beast brought out their full potential as they race for their life.
The beak from one of the birds poke the area Kai was a second away from, causing the ground to shatter.
"Are you sure the stone used to build the cave would be strong enough to keep the beasts out." Perspiration filled Kai's forehead. Seeing how narrow he had escaped death; he could only hope that the place they were heading to wouldn't be destroyed by the birds.
It felt like they had been running for an hour, yet only five seconds had passed.
Seeing that their preys were getting out of their reach, one of the arcane bird elders' furiously waves it wings and swept a huge dirt of wind towards them.
At the same time, Xue Yiran conjures a wind barrier around everyone. Within seconds, the barrier was instantly shattered. Still, that jiffy moment had bought them enough time to reach their goal.
Upon reaching the entrance of the crevice, Tyron shouted. "Get in!"
Xue Yiran rushed into the gap, with Sky in tow. The others also followed in one by one. Seeing that they had all gotten inside, Tyron turned around and gaze at the four beasts still chasing behind them.
"Let's finish this all at once." His eyes suddenly took on a crimson gold color. A long golden sword appeared in his palm. Channeling all the abilities inside his body into the long sword, the sword began to emit a bright golden light. Soon after, an ethereal gigantic figure looking almost the same as Tyron appeared behind him. The figure was also holding a long golden sword.
Simultaneously, the two figures performed the same action as the sword was raised into the air. "Ahhh!" With a roar, Tyron waves the sword at the direction of the birds. A bright shimmering golden light erupted from the sword, heading in the direction of the incoming Arcane birds. Tyron immediately felt weak after launching such a powerful attack. Yet, what he had termed as a powerful attack had only managed to push back the birds several meters away.
Miley jump into action and held Tyron weak body before dashing into the small crevice.
After the birds regain their balance, they found that the people they were chasing after was nowhere to be found. Besides that, their scent had also disappeared from the area.
"Screech!" The Arcane birds let out a furious cry. They went on rampage and began to destroy several structures, while in search for the intruder. Yet, it was as if the intruders had vanished from the face of existence.
After several hours of searching, they were left futile. The four of them flew back to their designated watch spot, still on the lookout for Xue Yiran and the others.
The moment Tyron realizes that they were safe, he breathes out a sigh of relief.
"Let's rest here for a while. We can then formulate a plan on how to escape this place." He looked at Miley and spoke. "Walker you --" When he turned backward to look at Walker, Tyron saw that there was no one except him and Miley in the crevice. "Where's everyone?" His eyes carried a trace of confusion.
"I don't know. It was empty when I came in." Miley was also confused by this fact. They had all walked into the same entrance, yet the others had vanished into thin air. Could it be that the door led to separate entrance. But that was impossible, since there was only one entrance. Then what went wrong. Miley contemplated. However, there was one thing she knew, they had all been separated.
