"Ha-ha-ha. Do you all see the expression on their faces. It was so funny as hell." Walker continued to laugh as they got into the car.
"What's there to laugh about. We also lost ten contribution points each." Atlas looked out of the window as he speak out.
"I don't mind losing more points if I get to see such expression on Cedric face every day." Walker finally ceased laughing and responded with a light chuckle.
"Boss, are you okay?" Jose expresses his concern at Tyron who was seated in the driver seat, as the later had been so silent ever since they've gotten into the vehicle.
"What's there to be angry about." Tyron replied. "Isn't it just another escapade between the two guilds."
"Oh, I've been longing to ask this." Walker turned his head to Miley and asked. "Why did you suddenly go against Cedric, vice president? I know that the two guilds have a strong enmity together but you wouldn't have gone all out like that. There must be a reason why you did so, right?" He stared at Miley with an inquiring gaze.
"Of course, there is. Why don't you use your wit to think." Kai looked at Walker with a gaze that says 'I can't believe you're this dumb' before continuing. "Cedric must have done something unforgivable to warrant the vice president anger. Isn't that so?" He then turned to Miley for confirmation.
The people inside the vehicle suddenly went silent, as if they were all waiting to hear Miley side of the story.
"Don't you think it's somewhat noisy with you two chattering about." Miley skillfully avoided answering their question. "Our expedition to the wild today will be quite deeper than usual, so I'll need a proper rest in preparation for the upcoming battle."
"When have you ever taken a rest in any of our outing." Walker thought Miley was just joking and laughed.
"Well, I need it now." Miley gave him a cold glare, which eventually shut him up.
"Is that so. Then I'll leave you to your rest." Walker awkwardly touches his nose and turned his head away.
"I said earlier that you were quite a chatter box. Perhaps you should have enrolled as a journalist, rather than working as a mercenary with that talent of yours." Milo who had been silent all along said.
"Hey." Walker expresses his dissatisfaction.
"What? Being a journalist is a good job, isn't it? You don't have to fight against those ferocious beasts everyday with your life on the line. You'll start your day with peace, meet colleagues and friends. Isn't that the said dream everyone wanted."
"I don't want such a peaceful life." Walker firmly replied. "I would rather venture into the wilds and fight against monster beasts than live a carefree life behind the wall."
"Can't you tell that he was just joking with you." Ryker rolled his eyes, seeing Walker expression.
"What, that was a joke?" Walker was startled.
"I didn't say it wasn't. But I do love your determined conviction." Milo, with a light smile on his face repeats Walker earlier statement, "'I would rather venture into the wilds and fight against monster beasts than live a carefree life behind the wall'. Isn't that the mindset a mercenary should have. Right, Tyron?"
"Can you please keep quiet? You're all disrupting me from concentrating on driving." Tyron spoke out.
However, everyone knew that the reason why he had ordered them to keep quiet was because of Miley previous statement.
"Huh, why am I feeling a bit irritated all of a sudden. Is this what is called smashing love food on to your face. Hey, Milo. How about we go on a blind date together and find ourselves a girl? Don't you feel lonely seeing the boss and vice president becoming lovely dovely."
"Speak from the distance and don't stick close to me." Milo pushes off Walker who was sticking against his body. "Also, I'm not lonely." He added.
"What, do you have a girl already?" Receiving Milo silent reply, Walker cried out, "Ah, this is unfair. What about you Atlas. Huh, and you too Ryker. Don't tell me... No way."
"Stop making a fuse. No one would actually publicize their relationship out for everyone to see. It is all done in a low-key way. Hence, you could only blame yourself for not being sharp enough."
"Ah, so it's all my fault." Walker then glimpsed at Xue Yiran who was seated beside Miley.
"What." Xue Yiran caught the other party staring at her. 'Why are you looking at me that way?'
Seeming to have read her inner thoughts, Walker answered, "Don't you think it's quite lonely. The two of us are the only individuals without a partner." He had excluded Ian because the other party was already engaged.
Amos who was singled out: Excuse me, but you forgot to add my name among the individuals without a partner.
"How about we become a close buddy, Xue Yiran? The two of us can go and watch a movie together, each some delicious snacks. Who knows, we might even become a couple in the future."
"Shut it. Why would she go out with someone as ugly as you." Miley lashed out. "Besides, I didn't know that you're such kind of person, Walker. Our Xue Yiran isn't even up to eighteen, yet you are already thinking of becoming a couple with her. Tyron, removed him from the guild once we are back from today's mission."
As a lovestruck boyfriend, Tyron immediately agreed. "Yes, I'll."
"Wait, no. I was just joking. I'm not what you think. I'm not into younger girls. Hey, don't look at me that way." Walker tried to explain.
"Earlier, I was touched by your word of conviction. But seeing these actions of yours really disappointed me." Milo tuts while shaking his head.
"I didn't know you've such a weird taste Walker. I'd better distance myself away from you." Kai shifted farther away.
"Hey, what are you saying. I'm not gay. You all... Why doesn't anyone believe me!"
Xue Yiran chuckled at Walker appearance. Despite the fact that everyone was only joking with him, the other party had no idea at all.
At that moment in time, Ian was able to capture the beautiful smile on Xue Yiran face. He felt like his whole body was suddenly hit upon by a thunder. His mind was entranced that beautiful smile on her lips.
How come she looks even more beautiful when smiling. This… Ian felt his heartbeat quicken. His expression immediately shifted.
'What's happening to me?'
He clutched his left chest and could feel the substantial thumping it gave. This was something he had never felt before.
'Am I sick?' How can he be sick. He dipped in a pod filled with an energy medical nutrient solution every morning, so there's no way he would fall sick. He looked up at Xue Yiran again, and could feel the intensity of his heartbeat. 'No, I'm really sick.'
"Are you okay?" Amos who was sitting beside Ian noticed his distorted expression.
"I... It's nothing. I'm fine." Ian withdrew his hand away from his chest.
"That's a relief. I thought you weren't feeling good. If you do feel any discomfort, please do inform me straight away."
Ian nodded and looked in Xue Yiran direction again.
'What's happening? Does my illness have anything to do with her. I think I should make a visit to the doctor once I gets back.'
