Chris and Harold wake up in their tent at the military camp surrounding the tomb. Harold goes out to join the soldiers for breakfast. Chris wants to check on Amelia first.
Chris goes to Amelia's tent and asks, "Are you awake?".
Amelia answers, "Barely, but yes. You may come in."
Chris goes inside and finds Amelia still in bed. He sits down next to her and takes her hand in his, "How are you?"
"I am still tired. All the channeling in the tomb drained me completely. It will take me a few days before I have fully recovered. Luckily we aren't far from town.", Amelia answered wearily.
Chris and Amelia soon went out and joined Harold and the others for breakfast. The soldiers welcomed them with cheers. They were the heroes who had put a stop to the endless onslaught of the undead.
Harold decided to stay at the camp for a while longer, but Chris and Amelia wanted to get back to town.
On their way out of the camp, they stumbled on a circle that glowed faintly as they stepped on it. Chris cleared some grass, moss, and roots. It looked like a large circular runic engraving with small inlaid gemstones, that were glowing in a faint blue. Amelia took out the book she had found and a few pages in she found references to the Teleportation circle of Amber Town that fully matched this location and the engravings on the ground.
Chris and Amelia decided to continue back to town for now, but they would come back at a later time.
Amelia stumbled into the inn, exhausted just from this short trip from the edge of the forest. Chris looked at her worriedly and then toward the staircase that leads up to their room. Just as Amelia was about to go up the first step, Chris picked her up and carried her all the way to their room. Amelia was first a bit startled, but then she just rested on his chest.
Chris put her down on their bed, helped her out of her clothes, and handed her the nightgown. Amelia gave Chris a quick hug and then snuggled under the blankets. Minutes later she was already fast asleep.
Chris thought about their journey and everything else that had happened since he came to this world. He considered the fact that he was really happy. Even when facing deadly perils or working hard. He also knew that at the source of all that happiness was Amelia.
The next morning they got up late and requested that breakfast would be brought up to their room. They enjoyed a romantic breakfast in bed. They fed each other fruits and kissed. It was a lovely way to start the day.
After breakfast, they freshened up and went to the keep. The steward welcomed them and said that the Lord was already awaiting them in the great hall. When they entered the great hall, they saw that there were lots of people gathered and that Harold was already standing in front of the Lord. The steward led them up next to Harold.
"Welcome our triumphant heroes!", Lord Whitehall proclaimed and the audience cheered.
"I am happy to declare that the undead threat at the Tomb of Amber Kings has been dealt with, by these three heroes. On top of a generous reward, I have granted them a wish. Let us hear, what do you wish for?"
Harold whispered to Chris and Amelia, "I have already received my reward and I am a retained knight, so the wish is yours, don't mind me."
Amelia whispered to Chris, "Why don't you wish to be acknowledged as the Lord of Amber Village?"
Chris nodded and answered Lord Whitehall, "Esteemed Lord of Harborton, I have already been recognized as the hero of Amber Village for saving it from a demon summoning. The villagers also expressed their sincere wishes that I would lead their village to a prosperous future. Therefore, I wish to be acknowledged as Lord of Amber Village."
The people in the room gasped at the magnitude of Chris' wish and focused their gaze on Lord Whitehall eager to hear what he would say.
"This is no small thing you ask for. Amber Village provides Harborton with important resources...", he pauses for a moment.
"Seeing how you have not only helped me and Harborton not once but twice and is also chosen directly by the villagers of Amber Village. Your wish is granted. Harborton officially recognizes you as Lord of Amber Village.", the Lord proclaims.
The audience applauds and cheers for the new Lord of Amber Village. Shortly after, they are all dismissed.
When they get outside, Harold signals to Chris and Amelia that he wishes to talk to them. They walk over to Harold. "I have the rest of your reward.", Harold says and hands Chris one hundred pieces of silver.
Harold then turns to leave, but Chris stops him. "There is something else we found near the tomb. Will you come with us to the military camp surrounding the tomb, so that we can show you something?" Harold simply nods.
The three of them return to the Teleportation circle near the tomb. Amelia explains to him what it is and says that they plan to return to Amber Village. The plan is to try using the teleportation circle to quickly return and also verify that it works. There is supposed to be a Teleportation circle at the Shrine of the Night Goddess.
They also tell Harold that Chris will first attempt to travel to the Shrine and then back again, in order to verify that it works. Then Chris and Amelia will both travel to the Shrine without returning again, for now, that is.
Chris steps into the teleportation circle then he channels magic into it and says "Shrine of the Night Goddess". There is a surge of energy and then he vanishes.
A few moments later he comes back. "This works perfectly!", Chris says excitedly.
Amelia tells Harold to inform Lord Whitehall of the existence of these teleportation circles and then she joins Chris in the circle. Once again he channels magic into the circle, speaks their destination and they vanish in a surge of energy.
Chris and Amelia show up right next to the Shrine in Amber Forest, standing within a very similar teleportation circle. They decide to take the opportunity to pray to the goddess.
Unexpectedly, they both hear a powerful voice echo within them. "Amber Village will soon be attacked. Prepare yourselves, my Champions."
They decide to split up. Chris will head to Amber Village to inform the villagers of the impending attack and start preparing their defense. Amelia will head to the temple, evacuate everyone, and bring them to the village. It would be too dangerous to try and defend both the village and the temple.
