Chapter 3 - Rebirth!

A soft sensation filled his body as his foggy consciousness wondered, he hugged the covers of his sheets tightly as though refusing to let go of the warmth he felt. Eventually his eyelids twitched subtly before his eyes slowly opened. Revealing a beautifully decorated ceiling that seemed to be made of diamonds. 'Hm, where am I?' he wondered confused. Once his vision fully settled, he slowly raised his upper body. Ellard observed the room closely, from what he could see it was a wide and spacious room with many expensive looking furnishers.

To his left was an opened window with a white curtain dancing in the gently breeze. 'What is this? Was lady Udea able to reincarnate me like she said?' He wondered internally. Ellard then looked down at his hand, "Hm?" His hands looked unusually smaller than he remembered. Ellard then jumped off his bed and ran towards a mirror.

".... This." His green, emerald eyes widened as he gazed at his appearance. The figure that reflected in the mirror was a young boy who seemed to be roughly nine years old wearing a pajama. The boy had slightly long silver hair, his pale cheeks had a tinge of pinkness to them, and his body looked very weak and fragile. Ellard continued to stare closely at his own reflection for some time before heaving a sigh.

"It seems I really was reborn... The power of the goddess never ceases to amaze me." Ellard muttered to himself with an expression as though he couldn't decide whether to laugh or cry. He once again turned around and head for his closet when suddenly. "Argh!" A loud groan escapes his mouth as he held his head and fell to his knees.

Many different memories were entering his head in quick succession leaving his brain no time to adapt to the information he was receiving. All he could do was desperately endure the pressure on his brain as he writhed in pain as he slowly lost consciousness.

....

The kingdom of Nahinil was the second largest nation on the continent and home to many powerful warriors, who practice three different types of arts. magic is a power given to mortals by the two goddess that ruled over the lands which allows humans to have access to mana a type of magical energy which could be found naturally around the world. Mages manipulates these types of energies to cast spells.

While spiritual energy is a special type of energy born from the soul of the user, spirit mages use spiritual energy to cast spirit magic. Spirit sword users are able to draw out the power hidden inside their sword by imbuing it with their own spiritual energy.

Warriors could take either of these paths in life to either serve their kingdom or make a name for themselves. The kingdom of Nahinil had three great clans which practice either of these types.

The Sun clan were masters in the art of magic while the moon clan were the masters in the art of spiritual magic, The Dragon clan were the masters of the sword. For many generations these three clans were known as the highest power aside from the royal family within the kingdom of Nahinil.

Alan dragon was the third son of Luis dragon a powerful being known by all as one of the strongest swordsmen in the previous generations, he was a man who many thought would have a bright future ahead of him but, unfortunately.

Before he could truly shine, he was assassinated by an unknown group that managed to retreat before anyone could apprehend them and as for the ones who were captured, they commit suicide leaving them into the unknown for nine years.

But due to the fact that Luis was the patriarch of the dragon clan at the time of his assassination the balance in power that had been stable until then fell. Allowing the sun clan and the moon clan rise while the dragon clan fell losing most of its power, thus, leaving it in a weakened state.

Cole dragon the father of Luis and the grandfather of Alan had no choice but to take the position of patriarch since the clan couldn't function without a main head, but even then, the sun clan and the moon clan were now the ones with the most power of influence since the fall of the dragon clan.

.....

"Young.... Master!" As Ellard's consciousness wondered and his brain slowly adjusts itself with the new memories it has been given Ellard slowly opened his eyes. As his eyes subtly regained focus a beautiful young girl reflected in his green pupils.

The young girl seemed to be thirteen years of age wearing a maid uniform, her hair was inky black and came down to her waist, her eyes were light brown in color. "I-is something wrong, Trisa?" Ellard asked, weakly.

"Y-You're asking if somethings wrong. Of course, something is wrong! My sister and I were cleaning the garden and we heard you scream thinking something must had happened to you we came in here only to see you lying on the ground unconscious." Trisa explained her voice trembling. 'Screamed' Ellard tilted his head confused, but then a thought came to him, he clearly remembers feeling a bad headache attacking him not long ago. He also notices how he had called the black-haired girl before him as though they had known each other a long time.

'This is.... Alan memories.' He thought. 'Did Udea transfer my consciousness inside the body of Alan?' He wondered somewhat conflicted. Doesn't that mean he had just stolen someone's body? Ellard frown when that thought appeared inside his head.

"Umm! Sir Alan.... Are you feeling, okay?" Trisa inquired curiously after observing the Alan who seemed lost in thought. "Y-Yes I am fine... Please do not worry about me." Alan replied stiffly. He couldn't just tell them that he wasn't Alan, Ellard doubts they would believe him if he told them the truth so, he decided to be Alan for the time being.

"Umm! Lady Trisa, could you tell me what year this is?" Alan asked curiously. "Hmm, what year, its year 3030." Trisa replied, though she was slightly taken aback by the sudden question. However, "Eh?! 3030, you say." Alan repeats dumbfounded. "So, the era of war is over then." Alan muttered. One thousand year had already passed since his death by the hands of the goddess of death, he didn't know how to feel about that.

The fight between the goddess of death, Eva and the goddess of vitality, Udea had been going on for countless eras, ever since that fateful day he had been by her side through it all but now... He was reborn inside the body of a weak mortal; he lost her divine protection and had lost most of his powers. Alan sighed once as he thought about the past.

...

Many years ago...

The sounds of heavy footsteps could be heard moving around constantly, running through the narrowed corridor of a wooden house which was slowly being burnt by flames. "Pant... Pant ... Pant!" A young boy who seemed to be eleven years old could be seen running through the passageway while glancing restlessly around the building.

Many parts of the house were already covered with flames as parts of the building collapse losing their structures. "Mom! Dad!" The young black-haired boy shouted. However, there were no response no matter how many times he screamed their names. The black-haired boy looked very lonely as he stood in the silent hallway.

Finally, his legs gave out as he fell down to his knees, tears trickled down his cheeks as his expression became blank. The heavy scent of smoke filled his nose suffocating him but, the black-haired boy didn't move it was as if he had lost his soul. Eventually the sound of footsteps could be heard coming from behind him.

The boy quickly turned his head to look over his shoulders however when he saw the person behind him his black eyes widened greatly. A beautiful woman with long silver hair that reaches just below her waist and violet eyes that glowed as if they were Amathyst, her lips were also painted violet and her skin as pale as sheets.

"Oh dear, was I too late. Perhaps?" The silver-haired womans melodious voice sounded.
