The next morning Jack was still watching TV while trying to think of new ways to scare when Sarah exited the bedroom and entered the kitchen to make breakfast.
As she walked past the living room entryway she stopped and glanced at the TV that was still on but seemed to have changed channels and thought about the doll last night.
She assumed jack had changed the channel so her sight didn't linger on it for long.
She looked around for a doll but didn't see anything out of place.
Relieved and hopeful for no more surprises, she continued on her way after satisfying her curiosity.
Jack watched her leave and thought about joining her but one of his favorite shows was on.
However not long after David soon exited the bedroom as well.
When Jack turned to look at him as he passed the living room to get to the kitchen he noticed David had dark eye bags and Jack started laughing out loud
David had a grimace on his face as well.
He looked like a panda who had his bamboo stolen.
As he watched David enter the kitchen, Jack knew he had to go join them after seeing David's poor state.
So Jack got up and entered the kitchen.
As he entered he saw Sarah cooking and David who just entered before him had already taken his seat.
"Dear... you look horrible." Sarah took a glance at David when she got a second of free time from cooking and said.
"I'm fine." David stubbornly said not wanting to admit he had stayed up almost all night because every time he would fall asleep he would have nightmares of plush teddy bears standing on top of him while he slept and stabbing him with a knife repeatedly.
It reminded David of the movie Chuckie, except with a cuter doll.
"If you say so..." Sarah said when she saw him stubbornly put on a hard face but his grimace and tiredness broke through.
"You look great as always honey." David smoothly changed subjects and complimented his wife.
Sarah rolled her eyes and ignored his sweet talk.
Jack was almost rolling on the ground in laughter at David's plight.
He didn't think he would be so affected by the doll incident.
Jack wanted to go possess the doll and share him again immediately but his reason stopped him.
if he did that too often it would lose the effect and he doubted he would be able to possess the dill and walk it to the kitchen.
But that doesn't mean he can troll David, Jack sinisterly thought.
So he made his move by manifesting as a shadow figure in the kitchen entryway and walled toward David.
David immediately saw him and stiffened.
David didn't know if he should acknowledge him or pretend he didn't see him but in the end, knew he shouldn't ignore him.
"Hello, Jack..." David managed to not stutter and forced a smile as he saw Jack continue to approach him.
Sarah heard him greet Jack and was confused about why, in his current mood she is surprised he isn't cursing hun instead, she thought as she turned to look and froze when she saw the black shadow approaching David who was sitting at the table.
As Jack got closer and closer David got more and more fidgety.
Seeing his reaction Jack tried his best to not laugh.
Sarah decided to just continue making breakfast and pretend she didn't turn to look.
David noticed his wife's reaction and felt betrayed.
She's obviously throwing him under the bus.
"Good morning." Jack replied with sarcasm and a smile audible in his voice as he stopped a foot away from David before he vanished.
He used up a food chunk of his energy just for that.
David saw Jack vanish in front of his eyes and sighed as he relaxed a little.
It's not nearly as scary if he can't see it, David thought.
Sarah heard his sigh and glanced at him from the corner of her eye.
She did not see Jack and David was relaxing, so she who had actually finished breakfast but was pretending to be busy hurriedly made a plate for her husband as an apology.
After the plate was made she walked over to her husband with a sweet smile on her face as she placed it in front of him.
David knew what she was up to and glared at her as he pouted like a child at her.
Sarah completely ignored his face and continued setting the table.
"I'm going to wake Angelica." Sarah said as she finished setting the table and then walked out under her husband's glare.
David debated eating without them in spite but knew if he did he would be kicked out of the house(bed) and put out in the doghouse(couch).
He didn't want to be sleeping with Jack tonight so he waited.
Jack watched him pout as he started at the food and felt amused.
Not long later Angelica skipped him and ran to her father with Sarah not far behind her.
"Daddy!! Good morning!!" Angelica smiled sweetly at her father who straightened his face as soon as she entered.
She then proceeded to give him a big hug before Sarah separated them and sat Angelica in her seat.
Sarah had told her to hug her father because he didn't sleep well.
David was all smiles after that even though his eyebags significantly decreased his charm.
Jack watched as the family ate.
However soon he got bored and went to watch more TV.
After the family ate, Sarah helped Angelica get ready for school as David got ready for work.
Not long later David was on his way out.
He was disappointed that he didn't get a lunch box today since they need to get groceries.
It just seemed like today was not a good day for him.
"I'm leaving!" He yelled before walking out and just as he was about to close the door he hears his wife tell him to have a good day at work.
Not long later Jack was left alone as Sarah walked Angelica out to the school bus stop.
Jack watched them all leave and found himself alone, so he decided to check his status for any gains.

'Not bad at all, I wonder if I can level up again before the crew comes back and shows the family the evidence they got.' Jack thought as he knew he couldn't keep making excuses and told himself to click continue on the system notification after the crew comes back with the evidence.
