Chereads / The Fatal Alpha / Chapter 36 - 35

Chapter 36 - 35

"Hey baby," I sat baby Kaden on my lap as he looked at me with his wide grey eyes. "Your dad is mad that he's going to lose me but it's what's best for you, I will miss you both so much." I sighed dejectedly.

It was true, the curse ought to happen to me and no matter how hard I fight or deny it, it would come back to win. I was a sad soul who lost everything but also had a terrifyingly passionate mate and a super angel for a baby. I had everything I could ask for, my only wish was that they could be happy.

My destiny, my fate, my life didn't matter without them, I couldn't be selfish enough to destroy my own pack for me to live and it was unfair for Kaden to live with a curse. He had a whole journey ahead of him, my mate would understand if I could talk to the Moon Goddess once again.

"I'm here." She stood in front of me and I widened my eyes.

"Shouldn't I go up there to see you?" I questioned shockingly.

"Not necessarily, Kaden is very cute." She said as her blue eyes smiled warmly at a happy Kaden.

I decided to get straight to the point when I placed him in the crib again. "I wanted to ask you something." I fidgeted with the hem of my sweater.

"Ask me." She invited warmly as she stood in front of me, I felt self-conscious after I blocked the mind link so nobody could hear.

"Can Alpha's name be uncursed too?" I played with dangerous waters when I asked that, it was also threatening to the Alpha if somebody knew.

"Yes." My eyes widened at her reply.

"My death is worth so much apparently." I laughed at my bad joke and she gave me a soft look.

"I could also make him forget you and make him believe that your son was from the third chance mate but this time, the curse would be transferred to Alpha Sean." She pitched in and I didn't hesitate to nod at her idea with a huge heartache pinging my body.

"You're an amazing girl, you're willing to make your mate forget you after you die so you could take off their curses, that is brave and painful." She mused and tears leaked in my eyes.

"I would rather let him forget than hurt." This statement sent my heart to ruins. I had to go with this because no matter how hard I tried, there was no escape.

"Is his wolf going to be free too?" I looked up hopefully and she nodded.

"Because his name was cursed, the wolf was strained too, he couldn't interact with your mate but he could shift without his name so once the curse is gone, he can interact again." That made me happy. I could imagine him at a chance of a happy life.

Without me.

She was gone. I knew what I had to do and I ran after letting Crystal come and take care of my son. Sensing the divine scent that I was going to miss, I made my appearance known when my boots made a crunching sound on the leaves covered ground in the forest.

The deadly Alpha was crying, his shoulders shook as he released all his negative emotions, it was much more painful to watch, each tear slit my heart.

"Hey, babe," I chuckled as he looked up at me from where he sat in front of the lake, I made the first move and sat on his lap, he held me tightly, his face afraid of losing my sight, "I know you'll have a hard time but I promise your pain will go away, you can be free again." He didn't say anything.

"Don't you care about how I feel about all of this?" He yelled frustratingly making me flinch at the rough tone.

"I do, you have to understand, I have the best memories along with moments that I will cherish forever, I know what you feel but I can't risk our son for myself." I reasoned tearfully, God, I missed the days of happiness where we used to chase each other, laugh, kiss and run together.

"You can't do this to me, please." His voice wavered as if pleading with me but I had no escape at all, I wasn't going to choose my protection over his.

"I am sorry but trust me, this will help you too," I told him as he groaned and argued back.

"I don't want that!" He yelled, "I only want you and our son, I don't want another mate, please, I am willing to die with you and keep our son as an Alpha here." I frowned at him.

"Don't you dare do that, Kaden needs you." I pleaded madly.

"I can't lose you." He chanted as he shook his head with eyes filled with frustration.

We both knew we couldn't do anything about it, he was going to have another mate and I was going to be forgotten but at least they had a chance to freedom and happiness.

"Don't beat yourself up, all pain will be healed," I told him as my lips met his in a deep kiss, he held me close as we cried through the intense kiss like it was our last.

My wolf cried with us too as she howled inside of me as we rest against each other and watch the lake.
