Chereads / The Fatal Alpha / Chapter 38 - Epilogue

Chapter 38 - Epilogue

"Dad, you cheated." Eight-year-old Kaden laughed as I watched him with the Moon Goddess with a smile on my face.

"You did the right thing." She appreciated and I nodded. Watching my mate and my son play together was just like I imagined pure love.

"He was such a blessing, I am so happy to see him like that." I giggled when Kaden fell down due to the strength of Alpha Jackson as he scored a goal.

"I won!" Jackson cheered as Kaden pouted, the girl with the brown locks came back with food as she set up the table for lunch.

"Boys, lunch is ready." Smiling at the very caring mate that Jackson has, I felt a pang of jealousy but I managed to avoid it when I saw how blissfully shared affection with each other.

My once mate laughed and twirled Kacey, his new mate, around as he kissed the back of her neck like he used to do with me.

"You're handling too much pain." The Moon Goddess told me and I nodded, tears in my eyes as I grinned at the happy family.

"Yes, food!" The girl called Destalia came out, they named her after me without remembering me, that lurched my heart even more with sadness. Their daughter was barely five years old as my mate held her in his strong arms and kissed her forehead.

I didn't know what my emotions meant but I knew that I had to sacrifice to save the family I wanted to be with and gave that chance to someone else. It only meant that the curse was gone and my life had a purpose with them.

It was okay to let go when I knew that they would have to be better off without me, that was just the way life worked. I was satisfied to see them both look so carefree, looking at the other ten boys, Jackson wasn't kidding when he said he wanted to have twelve pups, they were so much like him and that made me chuckle.

"He's so amazing." I gushed as my eyes softened down to the sight of my mate hugging each son and Kaden playfully tugging them too in an attempted hug due to his shortness, he has grown like I wished and I was at peace, watching down on them with the Moon Goddess.

"What you did was so heroic, you managed to destroy the curse by dying and rescuing your son's life." I nodded at the Moon Goddess, it did take a lot of effort when Crystal wanted to get that knife away from me but I managed to slash myself enough where I closed my eyes with a smile, knowing the consequences my mate and my kid had to go through were positive happy ones. I was okay with that because no matter how much I would miss them, I would still look out for them in heaven with the Moon Goddess.

Kaden's blue-grey eyes prayed as he looked up at the sky, almost looking at me as he closed his eyes and prayed before lunch. One thing that he said made me want to descend and hug him forever.

"I love you, mom." He whispered, winking at me as he looked down.

I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at the Moon Goddess beside me for an explanation.

"I wasn't joking when I said Kaden was special as in he didn't forget and he has so many abilities that he could still do." She said and I smiled with watery eyes.

"He remembers me?" I asked and she nodded, winking at me.

"It was the least I could do." She walked away.

Dear Alpha, I knew your name.

Jackson.
