I opened my eyes with a cloth that was taped on my mouth, I couldn't sense anyone in my mind nor link to signal for help, all I was doing was sitting on a rough chair with my hands tied.
The vividly red colored lair was frightening; it had a bunch of people tied too, they were dead yet their screams echoed like robots, my heart was still beating crazily as I prayed for the Alpha to make an appearance.
"Ah, you woke up." The burly man from before, Alpha Sean Jaden from the Wildcrest pack walked in front of me. I knew this man had something terrible about him, how could the Alpha befriend someone so horrible was beyond me.
I heard that his son, Alec Jaden was a very kind-hearted soul who helped anyone in need, how could he be related to such a rat looking man? I shivered internally at his look once he got rid of the cloth that was in my mouth, finally breathing from my mouth instead of my nose.
"So pretty." His smoke-filled breath said against my face, I cringed and spat on him with a disgusted look on my face.
"How dare you? My mate will rip you apart." I growled at him, he put silver on me so my wolf could be disconnected, that bastard.
"He wouldn't because if he came," he opened his hands to reveal a huge packet of pills, my heart went overdrive, "you will watch him kill himself." The man chuckled like it was the funniest thing ever in his eyes.
I imagined my life after me, the Alpha grieving, my baby boy growing up to be a tough man in love with his mate, me looking down at them with a smile on my face as they both moved on.
Focus, Destalia. I chided myself as I glared at the man in front of me. He had chubby cheeks and soggy eyes, he seemed like he was in his sixties or fifties.
"You created these pills?" I gasped in realization as he smiled.
"Another thing sweetheart, I also told your pack in the hall about your little Moon Goddess's curse." He laughed some more as my heart now went into overdrive. My hands sweating from the pressure of the tied knots around my wrists.
"Why?" I could imagine the pack members rebelling and the Alpha weakening if this man was to give me the pill.
"Because darling, it's the power of business, fake friends will only want benefits, maybe I could spare your life to be with me." I once again pulled away from his face as he got closer.
"Get your hands off of my mate." The Alpha came in and roared, a rush of hope consumed me until it drained away with the dread of what was about to come.
"Don't you dare!" I screamed as my eyes turned yellowish again and I broke free as I blinked, making the man tumble away as I went for my mate, his hand grabbed my ankle made me trip to the ground but the Alpha wasn't giving up, he carried me and glowered at the man.
"I never expected you to be like this." Alpha spat on the man as he wanted to get us out of here but then his brain clicked and he set me down as he turned around for the man, shifting to his wolf, I could hear the howls of the Sterlight pack rebellious acts.
"Stop this all." I pleaded with the Moon Goddess with tearful eyes, I couldn't handle it if I was to lose my mate.
The man shifted to his wolf, he was weak and ragged, not attractive for an Alpha. He was a very disruptive deranged man. I was right to think so lowly and badly of him.
"Shift back, father." I thanked the Goddess for the appearance of Alpha sean's son, Alec as he stood with arms crossed. The man complied and I turned around, not wanting to see his saggy male part.
He was dressed when I faced them, the Alpha also was clothed as he came to my side with a few scratches that healed fast.
"We have the pills, son, it's our victory and our pack will get even more ferocious and powerful, even Alpha Raden helped us spread it" Alec gave a mad gaze to his father.
"No, we will do no such thing, Wildcrest is known for its fairness and not for this vicious game you're playing." Alec's hard tone humiliated his father as he hissed back, attacking his son but Alec was quick to avoid the almost stab he got from his father's claws.
More guards came as they held the man and the pills were eliminated as we threw them in a burning fire, there was to be no murder any more or suicide.
Alec came up to us and apologized for his crazy father's behavior, we accepted since he was very pure and the rumors were true, the man was taken by Alec as he would face pure torture and punishment. He was a true man with brown curly hair and kind green eyes with a prominent jaw.
"You could have gotten killed." Alpha scolded me with a shout. I hugged him, finally satisfied that the pills were gone and the remaining we found in the lair were all burned. Alpha didn't hug back in annoyance.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know why I did that," I said, frowning at his behavior.
He, then, softened at my little puppy eyes act and embraced me tightly, "I thought I was going to lose you."
"You won't," I whispered, knowing it wasn't the truth, I felt my senses come back and Lace awoke.
God, that was horrible. Lace commented and I agreed with her.
The only thing we had to restrain was the rebellious pack members, I grew angry as their false accusations were thrown out like silly confetti.
