As Seyric opened his eyes, he held his temples and throbbed as he arose from the bed. As he contemplated the dream he could barely imagine, his mind was crystal clear of thoughts. 'What... what was it...? I couldn't remember something... something important...'
He sighed as he wiped away the sweat on his face.
As Seyric glanced at the door, he heard it creak. He was greeted by an unfamiliar man whose clothes were white and gold patterned. Whose eyes were deep-red and his short-wavy white hair dangled to the sides of his face.
"Hey, Seyric... How are you feeling?" asked Magnus as he marched towards him.
Seyric folded his knees as he leaned away. "Who... who are you...?"
He looked away as Magnus smiled and patted his head.
"Relax, I won't hurt you." Magnus said as he offered his hand in front of Seyric. "I came to examine your body, give me your hand."
Seyric folded his hands as he stared at the man's palms for a long moment. He placed his fist on Magnus' hands cautiously as light emitted from Magnus' hands.
A warm and cool sensation engulfed Seyric's body as his eyes lit up from each sensation he felt. His hands opened his palms and scan Magnus' face.
As his eyes met Seyric's gaze, his thick lashes fluttered.
"You seem better now. It's okay for you to run around now..." Magnus said as he took his hands.
"Glad to hear that," said Ikaria as Seyric peeked through the doorway with a wide smile.
"Mother!" Seyric suddenly bolted towards Ikaria's arms and hugged under his mother's warmth.
"I'm glad you're fine now." Ikaria kissed his hair as Seyric giggled.
"It seems like you two are quite close to each other. Is he like a mother's boy?" Magnus laughed.
While Seyric hid behind his mother.
She giggled as she waved her hands. "No, not at all. How's Euris doing lately in Anglesia City?"
Magnus sighed as he glanced at Seyric who peeked over him. "Brother has been staying up late for a few nights now. Maybe because of the current situation. I could only bluff but I think he seriously believes it's him."
Ikaria side as she held Seyric's wrist. "I hope he comes back soon."
"Oh, he will." Magnus assured Ikaria as she gestured over the door.
"Mind if I ask more about the situation?"
Ikaria stared at him until they walked out of the room while Seyric blindly followed his mother and helped her skirt.
As they slowly walked into the hallway, Magnus's eyes trailed into deep thought. "The church forbids such information from being disclosed, but I could share a bit to give you an idea..."
"The small village of Whermona had many incidents in recent years. The information we have is limited. Traces of magic are barely recognized, but we do find a tiny hint of magic in the case that it can be related to the dark element."
Ikaria gasped. "Does Euris think it's him?"
Upon reaching the living room, Magnus glanced at her and nodded his head, whereas Seyric grabbed some books right away.
"Is it the dark spirit who hurt, my son?" Ikaria bit her lips as Magnus wiggled his head and placed his hand over her shoulder.
"We don't know for sure, Ikaria. The church is working to find out."
Ikaria slowly nodded her head. "Okay, I understand. Thank you, Magnus."
Magnus nodded his head as he gazed at Seyric. "I must say, Ikaria. Seyric will have many troubles using his mana. In fact his mana core is too low that his body would reject the mana."
Ikaria squinted her eyes as she stared intensely at Seyric's way.
"It is critical to be alert whenever that happens. I won't always be here to help my niece."
Ikaria nodded her head and forced a smile. "Thanks again, Maagnus."
Time flew by as Euris returned home. In addition to dark spots under his eyes, his face was pale and exhausted at the same time. He smiled as he hugged Ikaria and asked. "Is Seyric fine now?"
Ikaria nod her head. "He's fine now. Magnus confirmed it."
"That's good." His raspy voice whispered and he pulled himself away. As he struggled to stand still, he wobbled.
Ikaria grabbed his arm and helped him balance. "Honey, why did you push yourself this much?"
He pinched her nose bridge as she glared at him. "I want to help our son, honey."
"But you can't also put yourself in this situation!" Ikaria's eyes watered as Euris' eyes flickered as he met her gaze.
"Seyric needs you, honey. I need you, honey. So, stop, please..." She begged as tears fell.
Euris' plastered face turned serious as he wiped her tears. "I'm sorry, don't cry."
He said as Ikaria pushed his hands away.
"I'm sorry, honey. I didn't mean to make you worry." He added as she hugged her tight even if she tried to resist his hug.
She couldn't free herself until she gave up. "I don't want anything wrong to happen to you." She muttered as Euris held her tight and her head was buried in his chest.
"Yes, yes. I know..." He whispered as he cupped her hair.
"What have you found out...? Is it...is it really him...?" She whispered.
Based on what I've found, there is a 20% chance that it will be him. I know his out of the news from this past 5 years to the past."
Her body remained in his chest as she nodded her head.
"Also, I finally found a fitting man to teach our son..." Eris stated as Ikaria pulled away from his arms.
"Really? Who is it then?" She pondered.
"I could describe him as a good man with lots of potential. And he's very talented for his age too." Euris added as Ikaria frowned.
Euris smiled widely as he explained, "He's the first son of the Minister, Clune L'virdawn."
Her eyes dilated as her jaw dropped. "What?! Are you sure about that?"
Euris nodded and smiled. "Yes, but I will have to work under him to do so."
Ikaria nodded and sighed, "I see."
"There is no way I can refuse such a tempting offer. So worry not, honey. The strength of our son will be my priority, despite that many stuff wearing him down. Let's put our hope on Clune's shoulders and hope for the best."
