Clune sat by the dukedom's private library as books were scattered everywhere across the desk and piles of books towered over the table.
He shuffled his way through a variety of books, especially those that were related to magic and mana functions.
In a matter of seconds the door of the library opened, followed by a butler who held a saucer as a cup of coffee was placed on it. As he surveyed the room with a squint of his eyes, he was greeted by a mountain of books arranged in a chaotic fashion as he marched to the room.
"My Lord, your coffee..." The butler muttered.
Clune glanced over his shoulder and gestured his hands over the table. " Put it here, Lomnr." Before he grabbed it again and began to read the contents.
"Alright," The butler pushed the books aside as he made a room and the sauce clanked as he placed them on the table.
He scanned the books for the last time and began to pick up the books scattered around the table. He piled them to the side as the mess cleared up and smiled towards Clune.
"My Lord, do you need anything else?" Clune hummed and did not look back this time.
"I shall take leave, please ring the bell if you need help, my Lord." With that, the butler nodded before he stormed off the place and shut the door to the library.
It seemed that the time had passed by so quickly as Clune read through copies of books until finally he looked away from the book and put his hands over his forehead.
"There is a lot of stuff about mana and nerves but there aren't any specific clues about the situation... Seyric's cause is in fact a bit unusual for a normal magicist to encounter," Clune whispered under his breath. He sighed before the book thud from the table.
He glanced over the trail of aroma and grabbed the cup of coffee. He coughed as cold liquid run to his throat and groaned.
"Damn it." He cursed as he chugged the last bits of cold coffee as he grinded his teeth. He thought to himself, 'I should've drunk it sooner when Lomnr came and gave it to me...'
He sighed heavily, leaned against his chair and stopped for a moment to rest.
As the second day unfolded, Clune remained seated in silence in the same place this time. He held a book in his hands while his eyes squeezed shut.
The butler came to the room again and served his usual coffee.
He opened his eyes and drank the cup. He grabbed the cup and gulped the coffee again, but to his surprise, this time his tongue stinged into them as he winced and slammed the cup back onto the table.
"Ah, fuck." He muttered as he shook his head in unison.
"Ah, my Lord, please. Don't rush to drink. Clune was reminded by the butler as he offered her a handkerchief.
"Yeah," he answered as he took it and quickly wiped his lips.
"You can leave now." Clune gestured his head away and handed the handkerchief back to him.
The butler bowed his head and left.
In a sigh of relief, Clune sucked away the bitter taste of the coffee before he gulped it all and returned to his state.
He entered into his conscious, as he sat into the void of darkness, he started to scan his own nerves as he released an aura that surrounded his body.
He took control of the mana he released from his body as he chanted spells under his breath and it circled around him.
Throughout the time that passed, he remained still.
He continued to chant as he tried to harness a force of huge mana in cast and when the spell would remain under his control. But suddenly the thought ended as he sighed and returned to reality.
He grabbed a notebook and noted several of his useful findings. He shuffled back from the table, grabbed dozens upon dozens of books and stayed up late throughout the night.
On the other hand, the butler opened the library door as he bowed his head as the well-built man entered the room and marched towards Clune's way and greeted him with a smile.
"I could see you working so hard about the lesson you'll teach him." The deep gentle voice echoed in Clune's ears as he immediately bowed his head towards the man's way.
"Your grace."
The man chuckled. "No need for courtesy. How is it going?"
"Very well, father... I have developed a fusion skill of mana limitation that is suitable enough for Lord Euris' son." Clune explained.
"Good, that's good." Aureus replied as he nodded his head.
"What are you planning to do with him, father?"
Aureus plastered a wide smile from his face. "Since Kingdom will send us away for 2 weeks, I would like to be there tomorrow. I know it is a big gamble for me to let you work under the Cloudflaw family, but still... That man is special.
"He could be my personal healer for the following week from the travel's there even more effectively than multiple healers could do. I also thank you that you could help me with this."
"No, no father. I'd be happy to help. Seyric's situation is far unique for such magicist could have, it has piqued my interest now... Besides haven't the church and the kingdom still not found the one who caused his son to be so damaged..." Clune muttered as he touched his chin.
I'd also be eager to find out the culprit. Also, his son's situation is so dire... If I were the father, I wouldn't pursue him much to become a mage... It is impossible." Aureus shook his head and chuckled.
"But that man never failed to amaze me from the very beginning... I'm also hoping for some miracles that his son will also do in the future."
They let out a collective sigh of relief as both of them nodded their heads in unison.
