Seyric was now in his room while his parents remained in the living room.
In the living room, Ikaria glared at Euris as he stood in the corner. "Why have you let him go?"
Euris sighed, "I just want him to enjoy his life, he shouldn't be locked up is his room!"
"Well, would you look at that he almost eaten by a wolf!"
Euris placed his hands on his forehead as he looked away, "I know, honey. I'm wrong. I'm sorry..."
"You're both giving me a headache." Ikaria sat down on the couch as she stared at nowhere in deep thought, her eyes filled with sorrow as she had a long face.
Euris still remained a stood as he marched towards her way. "Hey, calm down—"
Ikaria snapped from the thousand emotions that hid inside her chest, "You can't tell me to be that. He almost got killed!" Ikaria sighed out of desperation as she waved her hands at him. "Please, honey. Give me some air... I need some time alone."
Euris halted as he shook his head down, his heart was constantly stabbed by needles, and he muttered. "I'm sorry, honey."
He stormed out of the living room.
As Ikaria buried her face in her palm and she started to sob heavily as her mind came fresh of the past moments she had of her son, 'If only it didn't happen! It wouldn't turn out to be this bad. If only I didn't tried to push my husband for a vacation... This wouldn't have happened...' She thought.
'Ah, stop it. Let's not overthink it...' She gasped for heavy breaths and bit her lower lips tightly when she tried to stop her tears and wiped them off her face as she shook off the feeling of breakdown from her chest. She laid her back on the couch and covered her face with her arms.
On the other hand, Euris is in his private study, as he held a few books in his hand and momentarily zoned out when he thought the situation.
He combed his hair, squeezed them on top of his head and shut his eyes for a long moment. Before he left, he paced down the hallway and glanced towards the living room at the end.
Finally, he opened the door to Seyric's room.
Seyric sat on his bed and hugged his knees quietly as his puffy eyes stared at the ground.
Euris blinked for a moment before he knocked at the door. "Seyric?"
He called as his son turned in his direction.
"Fa... father...?" He stuttered as he momentarily hick from his sentence.
"Can I come in?"
Seyric nodded his head.
Euris shut the door and sat by the bed. He glanced at the books in his hand before he forced a smile and faced his son. "Are you... well?"
Seyric nodded again, "The... the wolf was nice... father, I... I mean it."
"But you know your mother would still think it's not and worry about you. Wolf are predatory, right? They are carnivores."
Seyric lowered his head as he stretched his knees. "I know, I'm sorry... fa... father."
Euris eyes stared at him for a long time before he mouthed. "You really sure the wolf wouldn't hurt you?"
Seyric raised his head and nodded immediately as his eyes lightened up. "Yes, father..."
Euris furrowed his brows from his son's pictured excitement on his face. "What makes you think that...? Can you tell me what happened...?"
***
Seyric tummy grumbled and ached as he momentarily stopped in his tracks. He rubbed his belly gently and tried to ease the itch of hunger he craved. He glanced around the forest as he started to search for something to eat.
He ran towards several trees as he saw a bright ripe yellow fruit hover over the branches. He scanned the ground as he noticed rocks or pebbles scattered on the floor.
He grabbed it as he thought, 'This could work. I should try using archery as my reference!'
He started to gesture his hands at the fruit and shut his other eyes as he aimed like he was about to pull the arrow from the bow as he set his target. As he locked his eyes on the fruit, he smiled widely and threw the pebble with all his strength.
The pebble clattered from the ground, barely raised at half the tree's height.
Seyric grumbled as he kicked the other pebbles with his tiny feet out of frustration.
He started to scan his eyes in the nearby bushes as he noticed small-red fruits on them. He ran up to them and plucked one fruit as he began to chew on it.
His buds savored a sweet and sour solid taste, but he didn't care. He grabbed a handful of them and used his clothes as his sack. He started to fill his vast pile.
Suddenly the bush nearby started to shuffle as he glanced over the direction.
A black wolf with dark-brown eyes jumped out of the leaves in a flash. His other eye and body scar from his previous battle.
The black wolf had noticed an unfamiliar existence as he glanced over Seyric's figure and slowly paced towards him.
Seyric also met the wolf's gaze as he saw the wolf glance over his clothes and sack of fruit berries, as it started to make up a confused face.
Seyric smiled wildly out of the blue as he was awed by the silky black fur shined under the shades of light, and his dark-brown eyes speak of many emotions.
Seyric grabbed one berry from his pile. He raised his hand with one piece as he hovered it before his opened mouth.
The wolf noticed his sudden actions as he growled furiously and advanced towards his way.
As Seyric was about to put one piece of berry in his mouth, the wolf pounced above him. He dropped the berries from the impact and landed on the grassy ground.
The berries were crushed from the wolf's paws as he used his head to nudge the other berries out of Seyric top, and he gave him a final growl before he moved away above him.
Seyric blinked momentarily as he tried to sit up from the ground. He glanced over the wolf's way, who was stomping the other berries near him.
The wolf glared at Seyric and rolled over the ground as he cleaned himself from the strong scent of rancid and red stain that clutched his body.
Moments later stood and gave him a final look before he's ears perked up, and he immediately ran towards the bushes and vanished behind them.
Seyric tried to catch up to him from the bush.
Yet, to his luck, his feet tangled in the small branches before his parents finally found him.
