Chapter 17 - CHAPTER SEVENTEEN | REMINDER

TODAY was another day that Sierra could call a day off. She still couldn't tell if her boss would call, and she had been staring at her office phone for a while. She was waiting with her friends and Zeke. They were also waiting for another person before landing where they were supposed to go, and it was Sir Martin and Miss Bernadette.

Sierra received a notice that the couple wanted to borrow Zeke, and she allowed it because her friends forced her to go out to meet new people and find a man to love. That also followed the comment she received from her boss when he told her to try to breathe at least a little. Since she caught him having sex with someone else, even if it was a one-time thing, she couldn't hide her real feelings. That day, when she got home, Sierra couldn't help herself but masturbate. She allows herself to release the desire she gathered while listening to her boss and his slut using the toy.

She got the toy while hauling things for her son. That helped her reach her heavenly climax while thinking about her boss. She knows it's wrong, but that's the least she can do, even if it's her boss's fault. The memory came back to her of when they had been together before.

"Are your bosses coming yet?" Kirsten asked, looking impatient. That interrupted her wild journey down memory lane. She knew that her friend was excited about what they would do today. Dahlia and Kirsten asked her to come with them and try speed dating.

"They're here now," she said, then stood up and called Zeke. "Ezekiel, already remember what I asked you to do. You have to behave, okay?" After talking to his son, she let him ride in Sir Martin's car. "Everything Zeke needs is here, and I left him a lot of reminders earlier."

Sir Martin laughed, and she frowned. "That's why Aidan is annoyed with you because you tell him so many reminders then and now."

"If I don't tell him, he'll suddenly get angry."

"I'm glad you've picked up on his behavior." Sierra blinked and turned to her son, who was already riding in the car next to Miss Bernadette. "We're leaving, and I'll just bring him back tonight."

She nodded and then just watched them leave before turning to her friends. She asked them to attend the speed dating event which was their idea. She has no experience with speed dates or even blind dates. Sierra wanted to ask her boss but remembered it didn't work out for him. She can't get anything from her boss, who likes to have sex with anyone.

She wished that he would not get sick from what he was doing. And speaking of her boss, he hasn't called her until now. So she declared that today was officially her day off without anyone calling her.

This is fun, Sierra thought and continued walking with her friends. She wished her day would continue like this.

I hope so...

SIERRA was wearing a mask to hide half of her face to lift mysteries. She's not the only one who does that inside the cafe where she at. Everyone around her was wearing a mask with a different design. Even her friends wore masks, but hers resembled those in the movie's masquerade parties. It will be difficult for anyone to guess who she is, which is convenient for Sierra because she doesn't want anyone to know she is trying a speed dating session. Contrary to what she said earlier, she doesn't need a man for her and her mother to live together.

"Hi! I'm -"

"Sierra..." Sierra frowned upon hearing what the man in front of her said. Her eyes blinked as she carefully looked at him until the man barely lifted the mask he was wearing.

"S-sir?"

"Call me, Aidan, and let's act as if we don't know each other. As of we met today for the first time."

She nodded and followed Mr. Fritzgibbons, but a question was swirling in her mind. Questions that are difficult to answer, such as what he is doing at the speed dating event and how recognized her quickly. She knew that Mr. Fritzgibbons wouldn't answer her because she was ashamed of him, or it was more correct to say that she, too, was ashamed of it.

"How did you know it's me?" She couldn't help asking suddenly.

"Red lipstick and your eyes," he replied to her. "Are you taking my advice to loosen up a bit?"

She couldn't answer it because the bell sounded immediately, and she had to move to the table. She put an additional symbol beside Mr. Fritzgibbons' name on her paper. Sierra didn't know if he did the same with the booklet he was holding. They were given a leaflet before entering, and all Sierra received was a minus sign because of her son. Once again, it struck Sierra that no one was serious about her because she already had a child.

She is now the second-hand woman in everyone's eyes.

She peeked at the boss sitting at the following table, but he had disappeared, so she left to look for the man. She heard her friends calling her, but Sierra didn't look back. She continued to go and exit the establishment she was in. She wants to know where Mr. Fritzgibbons is and why he suddenly disappeared. She hailed a taxi and immediately drove to the young man's penthouse.

She had no idea what would happen, but she was praying she would miss him while making a miracle with another girl. She did not want to repeat the previous experience in the past. Sierra kept wishing that until she reached the young man's property, but he was not there either.

Where could he be hiding?

That's when she received a text message on her phone from an unknown number.

From: Unknown number

Meet me at the pavilion now. I will wait for you there, Sierra.

Sierra then realized that her boss had sent the text message she had received. What does he need from her? Why is he still in the pavilion when he has a penthouse where she is now?

That man is foolish, she said in her mind.

"COME ON IN, Sierra," that voice almost made Sierra jump in shock. She used a different elevator to go up to the pavilion, which was not visible on the Fritzgibbons Corporation CCTVs. She didn't see any sign of her boss's car in the parking lot, so how he escaped from the boring speed dating event was a puzzle to her. "You got bored too?" he asked her when she entered the living room.

She slowly nodded in response to the young man's question. She heard him a soft laugh, which startled her slightly. It's not just because of what he told her in the past, she attended that event to humor her friends, but boredom strikes. Her friends organized their sessions today just like they did six years ago.

"I've got so many rejections because I have a son. They wouldn't take a secondhand woman, and I'm tired of being stereotyped repeatedly."

She took the seat and rested her back on the couch. She didn't travel far, but she felt exhausted.

"What's wrong with being a single mother? They don't know how to handle a woman like you,"

"And you think you can?"

"You're thinking I can?"

They both laughed after exchanging questions that they couldn't manage to answer. The scene was much different from their regular day in the office, where every corner was filled with vast tension. Sierra couldn't even talk to her boss like this because of his volatile attitude.

"Is this one of the secrets I'll keep with what I found in your penthouse?"

"Yes, please, because I don't want the media to think I'm mixing business and pleasure." One of her eyebrows arched. That was why he sent her to the pavilion where they were now. "Can I ask you something, Sierra?"

"Sure."

Instead of asking, the young man stood up and approached her. She watched him until he sat on the armrest of the couch she was sitting on. His hand slowly came up, traveling through the strands of her hair like he had done the first time. Back when he told her to loosen up a bit.

"You remind me of someone that I met a few years back. Your voice, giggles, smile, and these red lipsticks you're wearing." He brushed her lips with the ink of the red lipstick she had just used again.

"I don't know what you're talking about," she denied. Still, she hasn't confirmed that she was too evident in the past, mainly when she worked in his penthouse instead of immediately delivering the papers Miss Bernadette needed. Dickie was the one who gave it, and she just stayed there with the boss and then accompanied him to eat the dinner that he had cooked.

Sierra doesn't want to admit it, so she will do everything to refuse, but Mr. Fritzgibbons is excellent. His hand went down to caress her arm, which traveled to her elbow. She buckled up and admitted defeat in herself.

He's trying to make a point, sending many signals that later on give Sierra unexplained chills down her spine.

"What are you hiding from me, Sierra?"

Her mouth opened, but she didn't know what to say until the silly smile appeared on the lips of Mr. Fritzgibbons before his face approached hers.

He was going to kiss her! What should Sierra go to do now?
