Chereads / Cobra Kai FF / Chapter 16 - Scared of the height?

Chapter 16 - Scared of the height?

A month had passed and a lot had happened. Cobra Kai were on a loose due to Kreese's influence and troubled the Miyagi-Do students, whether be it at school or at work.

Eventually the two groups fought as anyone could've expected. First it was Dimitri whose arm was broken, and then it was me who broke thier fangs.

My sixth level up.

Seeing the situation between the kids, Daniel chose to reopen the Miyagi-Do with new determination and new techniques under his belt, which he said he had learnt from an old friend during his trip to Japan.

Good news, Robby was out of Juvenile on an early bail. Bad news, he chose Kreese over his father, Johnny Lawrence. A brutal fight broke out between the three Senseis, and now, we had three Dojos in the West Valley.

Miyagi-Do Karate, my Dojo. Cobra Kai. And the new Dojo formed by Johnny Lawrence, Eagle Fang.

Johnny had regained some of his old students, such as Miguel, Hawks and the other kids, and he was finding new ones to fill the open spots as well.

Meanwhile, my friendship with Tory had formed some cracks, because I might've slapped her a little too hard for invading Sam's home with Cobra Kai students and attacking her for petty reasons.

Ever since then, we had not talked or seen each other properly.

Also, I had leveled up again by saving the All Valley tournament from getting cancelled. All I had to do was give an emotional and reasonable speech at the public committee, which practically forced the board members to not go against me and continue the tournament as planned.

If the All Valley would've been cancelled this year, I would've had to wait one more year to complete one of my Quests. And now, I had the opportunity to complete both the remaining quests at once, thanks to the deal Daniel and Johnny had made with Kreese after their fight.

If Cobra Kai loses the All Valley tournament this year, it ends, once and for all.

'A fucking monster.' I groaned with an arrogant grin as I looked at my stats, 'I am almost two times stronger than a peak adult human and even more faster, since 30 points is supposed to be the potential limit for the human race.'

'I am not even exhausted after working out for four hours straight.' I thought as I looked around at the personal Gym I had created in my living room.

My phone rang and I got up to get it from the charger. I picked it up and saw that it was Daniel's call, "Yes, Mr. Larusso?"

"It's Sensei Lawrence." Johnny replied in a stern tone, "I have called you from the Dojo."

'Yeah, right.' I snorted as I remembered the fact that Johnny and Daniel had made an alliance and were sharing the same Dojo to train their students.

"What is it?" I asked.

"You find this funny, don't you?" Johnny asked in an annoyed tone as he must've heard me snort earlier, "Come to the location I have sent you in thirty minutes. Your Mr. Larusso and I have made the deal to swap our students for a few sessions."

'Just Great.' I sighed and nodded in agreement, "I'll be there."

As the students were discussing what their new sick Sensei had planned for us today, Johnny kicked open the door to a building's terrace and brought us in.

"Oh, God. I am tired of being right." Demitri groaned worriedly as he looked at the set Johnny had created for us.

"What are we doing here?" Sam questioned with a confused frown.

"When a Eagle's hungry, it doesn't hesitate." Johnny replied as he looked at the all of us, "It'll dive down at 100 miles an hour to snatch its prey. Doesn't wait around for a fish to jump in its feet."

"Talons." Dimitri corrected as he couldn't control his nerd behaviour.

"It's not talents. It's instincts." Johnny argued back as he misheard Dimitri's correction, who now had a puzzled look on his face.

"An Eagle knows it has to make the first move." Johnny continued with his lecture, "If you want to beat Cobra Kai in the All Valley, you gotta break yourself of this wait and see crap."

"And.." Sam interrupted slowly, "How exactly are we going to do that?"

"You're gonna jump." Johnny replied by pursing his lips and turning around to look at his set, "From this roof." He pointed, "To that one."

"What? Are you crazy?" Sam questioned with a stunned expression.

"That building is, like, five Nates away and we're at least 14 Nates high!" Dimitri whined.

"Please don't use me as a system of measurement." Nate complaint with a tired look.

"Quiet!" Johnny shouted to end the chit chat, "If you want to be an Eagle, first you gotta learn how to fly! You can't do that unless you Jump!"

"What if we fall?" Chris questioned with an anxious gulp.

"That's what the mattresses are for." Johnny replied.

"And if we miss the mattresses?" Dimitri theorised.

"Try not to." Johnny replied with a straight face, "All right, Alex is first."

I dropped my bag on the ground and casually took off my jacket.

"Alex, don't tell me you're seriously going to jump." Sam looked at me with a frown, "You don't have to do this."

"Sorry, Sam, but I am tired of all the bullshit happening these days." I replied with a tired smile, "I am going to get this over with and headback. I have somewhere else I got to be."

"At least not all of you are pussies." Johnny remarked with an amused snort.

I stayed a distance away from the edge for a good run up, while the students and Johnny stood on the side to watch me.

'That's closer than the jumps I usually make.' I thought with a straight face and nodded in confidence, 'I can do this easily.'

Without wasting any more seconds, I ran towards the edge and pumped my legs, just before I shot up into the sky and landed on the next roof.

Johnny clapped at me with a subtle expression, while the other students gave me a startled look. Though, to thier shock, I took a running distance once again and jumped from my roof to back to theirs.

"I hope you're satisfied now." I said by exhaling a heavy breath, even if though I wasn't tired at all.

"You did great, you can leave now." Johnny replied and glanced at the other students, "And you guys are not leaving before at least one of you makes that jump."

"Good luck." I looked at my fellow students with a sympathetic smile.

I picked up my bag and jacket and was about to leave, when Sam suddenly approached me and grabbed my arm.

"Is there something wrong with you?" Sam questioned me with a soft gaze and concerned look, "You were awfully quiet today and everyone can tell you're not in your usual smug mood." She whispered to me, "I am here for you, Alex. You know that, right?"

"If this is about Tory-" Sam continued, but I interrupted her with a serious look.

"No, it's not." I replied, "I cared about Tory, but not so much to be affected like this. I am just.. Not in the mood, okay? I need some time alone."

"Okay." Sam accepted my response and nodded with a small smile, "Will see you tomorrow at the Dojo then."

"Hm." I nodded at her and looked at Johnny, "Sensei Lawrence." I bowed and took my leave.

"The guy at least knows courtesy." Johnny snorted with a smile and started shouting orders at his students.

Things had started to get easy, too easy.

'That Jump.' I sighed to myself as I went downstairs from the building, 'It felt like I wasn't even trying.'

My paramters are so high that the teachings have stopped working on me, and I can easily adapt to my opponents in a hand to hand combat due to my Martial Arts Skill and Adaptive nature Talent.

I could tell that even Johnny and Daniel have figured this out and stopped paying attention on my growth, because they know I will always complete the training or any task they'll assign me.

I am the type of person who craves thrill and loves adrenaline. Learning Martial Arts with kids is not going to help me anymore.

I wore my Jacket and Helmet before I got on my bike and drove away, to East Valley, where I knew a place that could satisfy my cravings for now.

AN: Time Skip Info dump for today.

Post AN: And yeah, I know. The character is ridiculously OP at this point, but that's what happens to a story with System.
