Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 - Unexpected encounter

Even without Violet's warning, Claggor and Mylo already put down everything in their hands and ran out of the balcony.

Following right behind them, was Violet and Powder who was completely overwhelmed by panic.

Not even two steps in, she accidentally tripped the table and yelled in pain. Then she fell forward and to the ground.

"Powder!"

Hearing the commotion behind her, Violet, who had already ran outside the balcony and was almost at the top of the roof, looked down and was now panicking.

With a painful expression on her face, Powder pressed her ankle with one hand, and tears rolled from her eyes to her cheeks.

"Violet, my foot..."

At this moment, the door of the room opened, and one of the two sheep they had been following walked in.

I knew something was up on our way back... Caitlyn's lessons in counter surveillance paid off.

Lilin crossed his arms, put his right index finger on his chin, and said in a sarcastically surprised tone, "What do I see here?"

Violet looked worried for a moment, then gritted her teeth and jumped back to the balcony.

"Violet, don't go back, you'll get caught!" Mylo on the roof shouted anxiously.

But there was no way Violet could leave her sister alone.

"You two go ahead!"

Violet quickly ran to Powder, took her into her arms, and stared youth in front of her.

"We won't leave the two of you alone!" said Claggor as he jumped back and walked behind Violet.

"You two are crazy!" Mylo said, but followed him anyway.

"You guys came to my studio to steal my stuff, and now you want to beat me up too?"

Lilin couldn't help laughing when he saw the three people who were staring at him.

"We came in to … walk around. we didn't take anything!" Violet defended them selves with little confidence.

"Climbing up to the top floor and down the balcony to visit, right?" Lilin shook his head and chuckled, "By the way, how was it written in Piltover's law? Is it called attempted theft?

"If you are caught, you will have to be imprisoned for at least two years... Also, stealing from the Kiramman family. I don't think the enforcers or the judge will let you off easy."

"Violet, why are we talking! Just knock him out, and we're good." Mylo stared at Lilin and cracked his knuckles.

" If that is the case, you will be charged with physical assault also. Remember, I am a craftsman of the Kiramman family. Guess how many years you will be sentenced then?"

Lilin said with a smile, but he was just trying to scare these ignorant children to not doing anything else foolish uptown.

After all, he's becoming friends with Vander. Putting his kids in prison is not exactly a way to please someone.

It is better to have another friend than another enemy.

As the leader of Zaun's Lanes, a good relationship with Vander will go a long way for Lilin's future plans.

The two sisters in front of them are also champions he recognize. They will be a good investment, like Ekko.

Regardless, he wouldn't really put them in jail.

However, the four children doesn't know what went through Lilin's mind.

Violet lightly patted Powder's shoulder twice, then stood up expressionlessly, and looked at Lilin emotionlessly.

"This was all me. If you let them go, I'll go to the police with you and accept the consequences."

"Violet?" Powder stared at her sister, in awe and unable to stop her tears.

"What!?" Mylo, who looked flustered, held her shoulders, "Why!?"

"It's not just you Violet, we won't let you go alone." Claggor walked up.

And Powder, who was still sitting on the ground, wailing.

"You guys..." Violet's eyes reddened slightly, "No! Vander still needs you. If I take the fall, you guys'll be fine."

She shook off Mylo's hand, strode towards Lilin, and stopped about a meter in front of him.

"Let them go, take me."

"ha ha ha" Lilin couldn't help but laugh when he saw the serious look of these children.

Violet's eyebrows furrowed, "What are you laughing at?"

"I thought of something funny ... hm"

Lilin turned around and locked the door.

Then, under the surprised eyes of Violet, Claggor, and Mylo, he walked straight to the seat in front of his workbench and sat down.

"What do you mean?" Violet's brows furrowed even tighter.

"Would Vander feel relieved to know that you are so responsible?" Lilin jokingly looked at the pink-haired girl in front of him.

Mylo next to the table was surprised: "You know Vander!?"

"Of course, why would I go to The Last Drop? Didn't you follow me from the tavern too?"

Everyone looked at each other and breathed a sigh of relief.

Mylo wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, "Phew, what the heck man."

"Stealing from my house? Being scared is the least of your punishments"

Mylo felt a little embarrassed and didn't speak anymore.

"I'm really sorry, we didn't know you were Vander's friend."

Violet scratched her messy hair awkwardly, also embarrassed.

Vander even has friends in Piltover, but I thought he hated…

Of course, to protect herself and her companions, she didn't ask Lilin for an explanation.

"Even if I'm not, you shouldn't come to Piltover to steal things. Fortunately, I'm going to let you off the hook today. If you're caught by others, the consequences will be grave."

Yes, yes, yes.

I believe you are Vander's friend, the nagging tone is exactly the same as his...

Violet groaned in her head.

"Then... we won't cause anymore trouble. Let's go guys."

Violet walked over to her sister and wanted to help her up, but as soon as Powder got up, she cried out in pain and sat back down.

"Ow..."

Staring at her sister with tears in her eyes.

Violet squatted down, gently pulled up her left leg pant leg, and took off her shoes and socks.

"It's swollen, it looks like you sprained it pretty bad..."

Violet pursed her lips and stared at the red and swollen left ankle, and thought hard about how they would get back.

To get out of here they have to climb outside.

But now Powder can't even walk, how would she climb and jump?

"If you trust me, you can let her stay here."

Violet turned to look at Lilin, and there was a look of doubt in her eyes.

"You can leave now and wait outside. When the guards go on break, I'll send her out through the back door." Lilin explained.

"Don't worry, I still have some authority in the Kiramman Clan, even if they found out, I'll be fine."

"..." Violet hesitated.

Powder wipe away the tears on her face with her, "It's okay Vi, I can take care of myself."

Violet's expression was complicated and she was still skeptical.

"To be honest, it's the only option."

What Violet didn't expect was that Claggor agreed.

After thinking again and again, she exhaled heavily and looked at Lilin.

"I'll... trust you."
