Stuck in his stupor, Cyrus attempted to connect with Sage in the hopes of at least feeling her heartbeat or hearing a sound from her, but there was no response. He tried and tried until the ache on his body began to subside little.
Ashton and River looked at the ice dragon, who was whiter than usual and unconscious on the bed. A huge white blanket draped over his body, and the strands of hair on his brow were carefully arranged. He appeared surreal, as he always did.
"S..sage.." His voice shook, his pale lips quivered, and his brow wrinkled in pain.
"Do you think he'll wake up?" River enquired, raking his fingers through his hair in frustration.
"He isn't dead, so I can't predict." Ashton responded bluntly.
"And what if he's dead?"
"The reapers will do their jobs." Ashton deadpanned.
"How on earth is he controlling the cold to this extent? I can hardly breathe." River murmured, glaring fiercely at Cyrus.
