The grounds were dampened, and the soldiers looked soulless. At the alpha's order, the remaining troops, both alive and intact, withdrew. It was a relief to them. They returned to the outskirts, where they had once rejoiced for having come so far. However, a dead man wasn't going to end a war.
"Tomorrow we send out a group of men who will search out the area; if I'm certain they will come around to check, we can ambush them and capture them alive."
"What are we supposed to do with them? They are better to us dead than alive." General Beige said it with a scoff, showing his displeasure towards the idea.
"We need information; so far we have been advancing, and no doubt what we thought we knew happens to be not it," he directed their gaze at the board drafted through the whole progress of their journey.
"My alpha, if I may speak," General Irah said midway through his explanation.
