Beside the thrones were two dragon statues. Whoever made those sculptures did an extraordinary job. The sculptures were magnificent to behold and they looked so real. Sham stood staring at them for a while until he heard a voice behind him.
When he turned, he saw Adrian and his daughter. He looked at her over and over again because she was quite beautiful. Adrian smiled at him.
"It is foolishness to come to the enemy's lair alone and unarmed." He said.
"I want to form an alliance." Sham said and Adrian laughed.
"Why would you want to form an alliance with the enemy? Against your own people?" Adrain asked rather suprised.
"I believe the werewolves would be better together with the weredragons. Gwa has ruled for long now, it's time for a change. I want to be the Alpha of the werewolves and in return I will tell you how to kill Gwa. With Gwa dead, the werewolves would live in fear and when you come to ask them to surrender after killing some of them or taking some of them for hostage, they will surrender." Sham shared his plan.
Adrian took a critical look at the young werewolf. It was foolish of him to come all the way with such a stupid plan. But if he was willing to be used, then why not?
"Your offer is too inviting." Adrian said with his brow raised.
"Why should I trust you?" He asked further.
"You don't!" Sham said. Adrian smiled. This werewolf was trying to act tough.
Fiona(Adrian's daughter) walked seductively to where Sham was standing and walked around him staring hard at him as if she wanted to see his heart. After a while, Adrian said
"Alright". Sham wondered why he agreed so quickly without even taking some days to think it through.
"I am a man who derives joy in betrayals and evil" He answered as if reading his thoughts.
"I know when a man is lying and I recognize the trait when I see it. But how would Gwa die?"
"Werewolves have one weakness that has been kept secret for centuries and the knowledge is held by only a few" Sham answered
"What could this be? And how did you know about it?" Adrian asked now very interested in the conversation.
"Silver!" Sham answered. "It kills werewolves. But it works effectively when given continuously and in bits". Adrian smirked. This boy was indeed foolish. Getting that secret was too easy.
"I overheard a werewolf at his death bed passing this secret over to a werekeeper" Sham continued explaining.
"And all you want in return is to be the Alpha while the weredragons dominate?" Adrian asked rubbing his fingers together, thoughtfully.
"Yes" Sham affirmed.
Sham had other plans. Knowing that taking the position of the Alpha from Gwa would not be easy, he decided to employ the help of the weredragons. Giving them the key to dominating the werewolves and the only way to kill Gwa, they would agree to work with him.
But Sham had planned that during this period of working with the weredragons, he would look for a way to destroy them and win the favour of the werewolves who would in turn make him the Alpha. All he needed to do was save his people from the claws of the weredragons soon. Brilliant plan! he thought.
"Deal" Adrian's voice brought his mind back to their discussion. The both of them were thinking of how this alliance would be of benefit to themselves.
"He is a cute one" Fiona said, eyeing Sham.
"Keep quiet Fiona!" her dad barked.
'She could flirt with anyone but a not a werewolf. It was disgusting!' Adrain often warned his daughter.
"Should we really trust him?" she asked now standing so close to him that their lips were few inches apart.
Sham thought how nice it would feel to have a taste of those lips that breathe fire but he kept a straight face. He didn't want to appear cheap and he came for something more important. Adrian answered nothing and just pulled his daughter by the arm away from Sham.
"If we would be working together with him, then we need to get closer." She said biting her lower lips and smiled seductively at Sham while running her fingers round his broad chest.
She winked at him and swayed her hips seductively as she strolled away.
"I will have him on my bed" she thought as she got out of the room.
"I've never seen silver all my life. Do you have any in your possession?" Sham asked, going back to business.
"Follow me" Adrian commanded and led the way.
Leaving the throne room, they walked to another room. It was locked and Adrian breath a little fire on the handle. Seemed like every weredragons's fire were unique to each individual. The door opened and Sham was marveled by what his eyes saw. Immediately they entered, Adrian transformed to a frightening red dragon with bloodlust eyes, sharp claws and wings spread out. Sham stepped back and his own claws came out and his eyes colored changed ready for any kind of ambush.
Adrian did this to frighten him and it worked a little. Adrian transformed back.
"If you cross me, I will consume you." he said standing a breath away from Sham with his brow knotted. If only he knew how determined Sham was, maybe he wouldn't have bothered trying to scare him. Sham smiled but didn't respond to that.
"This is my treasure house and I have all sorts of precious stones here" Adrian said as he proudly walked around. Sham relaxed and went back to his normal human self.
"Gold, diamond, emerald, sapphire, pearl, you name it and of course SILVER" Adrian added. Sham took his time to look at every piece one by one as he hadn't seen this much treasure before. Having touched and observed every precious stone there, he paid full attention to the silver. It was shiny and grey! Who could have thought this pure thing could cause much harm.
Unlike among the pack where silver didn't even exist, it was quite excess here and different objects were made from it. Adrian picked a silver gem and crushed it into powder with his fist.
"I'm sure you know what to do with this" He said pouring the substance in Sham's stretched out palm.
"Of course" he responded. "I will send you word once the job is done" he said, turning to leave. He stepped out and came to the corridor with the paintings. Sham poured the substance into a pouch and hid it in his cloak.
