I shake my head smiling before placing my phone away and focusing on the mistifying creature of a man before me, "Why do I even have to join you? I'm practically dead meat." I groan, thinking of the irony.
Nic hoists Mr Grey's right arm over his shoulder and Aaron does the same with the other arm, I grab his things and follow behind them.
It's funny how when my boss is awake, he's on alert and notices every small thing but right now he's being dragged away by two people and he doesn't even bat an eye.
Not like he ever does but it's almost like he's in a coma never bound to wake up but he comes back like Lazarus and tortures me for thirteen hours straight.
We walk silently to the elevator and down to the underground parking lot, thankfully without any sight of a living being.
They place my boss in the passenger seat of his car and Nic buckles him up before closing the door. He turns to me, "You need a ride?" He asks.
I shake my head, "No, I'm going to meet my friends somewhere. But thank you." He gives me a curious look but nonetheless nods.
"Okay then, I'll see you on Monday. Goodnight Rosie." He gives me a boyish grin and winks.
I shake my head blushing slightly, "Goodnight Nicholas, Aaron." I acknowledge.
He smiles, gets into the car before speeding away. I watch as Nic does the same then make my way to the busy streets of LA to catch myself a cab.
*~*~*~*
Thankfully the bar isn't really that busy, it's literally the only club that I know of that is low-key 24/7
I spot J's form sitting alone, I walk towards him and tap his shoulder when I arrive. He turns with a huge smile on his face, "Hey, you made it. I almost thought you ditched me too." He groans.
I look over his shoulder at the empty seats, "Where–?" I didn't have to finish the question before he replied.
"Making out somewhere, I swear those two can't stop humping like rabbits." He rolls his eyes, I giggle and take a seat next to him.
"Anyway..."
For the next half hour to an hour J and I just talk about random things, until Kae and Anna appear both with flushed faces.
And just as quickly as they arrived, Kae stands up and leaves and I notice just how quickly Anna's demeanor changes.
"...and it's always worked for me. You should try it..." Anna trails off, her eyes slowly move from mine and glance behind me.
I twist my neck slightly and catch a glance of Kae seemingly flirting with a cute ginger, she pouts slightly and downs the rest of her drink before standing up.
"Excuse me for a second, Rosie." She grumbles and stalks to the two, I widen my eyes and make a face.
"Yikes." I mumble, J laughs throwing his head back.
"I don't even know what to say anymore. Two minutes they're dating, the next they are arguing and have broken up and then they're hooking up." He raised his hands up in defence.
I shake my head slowly looking at where they were both supposed to be, only to see the ginger with another guy and the two gone.
"Talk about toxic." I whisper taking a sip of my water, J leans onto the table and stares at me for a moment.
"You know, since you got here you've only been sipping on water?" He asks curiously.
"With the way you're going, one of us have to be responsible." I joke motioning to his third glass of brandy.
"Oh come on, one shot?" He offers, I shake my head secretly smiling.
"No thanks, I don't do well with shots." I say glancing around avoiding any eye contact.
Truth be told, everytime I took shots. Vodka or tequila, whatever I end up doing something stupid and not today.
"Thankfully it's only a shot. Waiter!" He hollers, my eyes widen but it's already too late to stop him when a waitress appears and he orders two shots.
Soon the shots come, and J gives me a challenging glare. I chuckle shaking my head, we both grab our glasses, bring them to our mouths and shoot our heads back.
The bitter drinks burns down my throat settling down in my stomach, I cough for a while reacting to the drink.
One shot turns into three for me and five for J, he offered a fourth round but I rejected it and he ended up taking both our shots.
I can already start feeling the tequila doing its job, there is a small buzzing in my head and ears and I can't say that I'm particularly fully sober.
Meanwhile J is leaning on his arm giggling like an idiot, "you know..." He drawls out.
I nod humming, "you are very pretty." He smiles, his eyes drooping close. He bursts out into laughter for no complete reason.
I shake my head, "okay we need to get you home." I mutter standing up and grabbing my bag.
"Nooo, what about Kae and Anna? Plus I want one more shot, pleaseee?" He slurs, he attempts to lean his head on his arm again but ends up missing and bangs his head against the metal table.
"Ow."
"Okay, up." I mumble, grabbing his arm and throwing it over my shoulder. He jumps of the chair and ends up stumbling on his feet.
My body nearly topples to the side with him, "Whoa." I try to pull him to my side to balance him.
He giggles, "I mean it, you're pretty. Very, very, very, very–"
"Pretty, I know. Thank you Jared." I deadpan finally getting him blanaced, we start walking towards the exit, J occasionally stumbling on his feet making me groan in frustration.
Two hundred and fifteen pounds meat and he's drunk, I really don't know how I got myself into this position.
"Can I tell you a secret?" He asks just as we exit into the streets of LA.
I internally thank God for the clearer air out here than in here, "Yeah?" I mumble moving to the wall and making him lean against it.
"Stay." I command.
"I really like you..." He continues, I hum fishing for my phone in my purse.
"Like really really like you." I quickly look for Anna's contact, thankfully she picks up.
"Hey we're leaving, Jared is pissed, he has to get home." I inform.
"...okay... just...don't drive...safe." I cringe when I realise that she's still busy, so I end the call and just when I turn around warm lips land upon mine.
