She flew as fast as she could with Baiyu and Jin Si in her hands. It had already been at least twenty minutes and she was already halfway to the Yusheng palace at her fastest. Her sword was fully on fire so she could be seen easily from below. It was on purpose for she had a feeling someone would see her and she would receive help.
Chisheng Wei never stopped, not even one moment to catch her breath since she was in such a hurry. The sky was dark and only the full moon and the stars gave her light besides her sword, Qiuyue. She was closer to the palace every moment.
Jinghua watched as Bingwen slowly nodded off as the sky darkened. He had gotten up to lock the door. He wasn't afraid that someone would come in, just cautious for Bingwen's safety and his own. They weren't well enough anyway. But Jinghua couldn't seem to fall asleep. He remembered something Yuming had asked him once. It was back when Bingwen had been unconscious after the arrow incident. She had asked Jinghua to transfer his soul into Bingwen's dream. So he wondered if Bingwen was dreaming now.
He began to center his chi and put his two fingers on Bingwen's forehead. And he was corrected, he had entered Bingwen's dream. But it wasn't what he remembered it to be. It seemed different, like a nightmare. Jinghua suddenly saw the silhouette of a small child, a little girl by the style of her hair. He approached the child saying, "Hey, wait, little girl!" as the girl ran off giggling. He recognized her voice. The silhouette disappeared and reappeared in front of Jinghua which spooked him. The figure was now fully visible. It was Lanying, her robes were covered in blood, a line of blood wrapped around her neck. "Your fault." she said, then disappearing again. Thousands of voices, all of them belonging to Lanying, kept repeating and echoing 'Your fault, it's your fault!'. Jinghua put his palms up against his ears to block out the noise. And as everything was muted in the dark abyss of the nightmare, Jinghua saw Bingwen. He was huddled up in a ball, surrounded by darkness and a bad aura. Jinghua ran to Bingwen's shaking body. He was muting the voices too. Jinghua grabbed Bingwen's shoulder, surprising Bingwen. Bingwen then stood up and jumped into Jinghua's arms, wrapping his own around Jinghua. "Make them stop! Ning CHeng, make the voices stop!" he said. But he was only dreaming, not knowing that Jinghua was real. And all Jinghua was able to do, all he could think of doing to help, was comforting Bingwen.
"It's alright, I'm here. Nothing can get to you. It's just a bad…dream.." and at that moment, everything seems to have stopped. The voices had stopped and the taunting had ended. The only light around them was a bright light shining on the body of Lanying. She was laying in the darkness, dead. Bingwen began crying. "She blames you but it's me. It's my fault she died. It's all my fault I couldn't-"
"It's not your fault, Yusheng Jin," reassuring Bingwen. Bingwen tried pushing away from Jinghua.
"You're not real. This has to be a dream!" Bingwen said, but Jinghua wasn't paying attention. He realized he had never been able to be this close to Bingwen, nor will he ever be able to. He suddenly lifted Bingwens chin, it all seemed like deja vu. Bingwen knew he was dreaming but it all felt so real once the small touch of Jinghua's lips hit Bingwen's.
Bingwen sat up and gasped, looking at Jinghua who sat across from him. But Jinghua was asleep, Or so he thought. But Jinghua had been in fact faking being asleep. Bingwen laid back down, hiding his red face. What kind of dream did he have? It was strange but it somehow seemed right. Bingwen started to feel a certain way. The two felt embarrassed but Jinghua also felt like he achieved something.
Yuming and Hung Meifeng stayed outside under the palace roof for a while. Hung Meifeng noticed a small moving light lowering towards the palace. But she recognized the fiery sword almost immediately. Yuming looked up too.
"Is that..Lady Chisheng?" she asked as Chisheng Wei landed. She rushed over to Hung Meifeng and Yuming. "Y-your brother and master Ning.." Chisheng Wei panted, Yuming's eyes widened, "They..they need help…" Chisheng Wei almost collapsed as Yuming and Hung Meifeng held her. But she dropped Jin Si and Baiyu. "Where are they? What happened to them? Are they alright?" Yuming pestered as Chisheng Wei caught her breath.
"They both have been injured, your brother more than master Ning. they're at the Ning palace." said Chisheng Wei, finding her balance and bowing to the two. She followed the two inside, back to the meeting room.
The commotion that accrued had stopped once the three entered, once everyone saw Chisheng Wei. Yuming's mother's eyes brightened. "Have you found my son? My ah-Li?" Yusheng Min cried. Chisheng Wei bowed to her, fixing her hair as it was messed up by the wind and rain. Her robes were also soaked and she was cold but she was only worried about one thing. "Madam Yusheng. I apologize, I can't find your deceased daughter but I know where your son is. He is injured alongside young master Ning. The two are at the Ning palace. I've taken their sides and traveled alongside them for a year and a half now."
To Yuming, It seemed her mother had been revived from the news of Bingwen. But Yusheng Min wasn't happy with the fact that Jinghua had been with her son too.
"Why is Bojing out with the devil's son!?" Yusheng Min lashed out, Chisheng Wei slammed her foot against the floor.
"Madam Yusheng, enough. Master Ning isn't what you think he is. This is all the work of his father, the Ginkgo emperor. Your son is in danger because Ning Lin wants to kill Yusheng Jin. Ning Cheng is keeping your son alive so you should be thankful." Chisheng Wei set the two swords on the meeting table that she had picked up from outside of the palace. "I need horses and disciples. If you want your son home and safe, listen to me."
Yuming smiled,"Hung Meifeng and I can help!" she said, grabbing Hung Meifeng's hand.
