The day had passed which led to another day. It was afternoon in the mountains of the Ning palace. It had been colder up there than any other mountain in the northern region. Jinghua was preparing to leave the palace with Bingwen. His father had taken Bingwen's sword, Baiyu. Jinghua had confronted Ning Lin. "Father, I will be leaving the Palace for a while."
"What the hell do you think you're saying?" Ning Lin said, holding Baiyu in his hands. "Leaving the palace? Where are you going to go? Oh..I get it. You're leaving like the other kin disciples. How silly." Ning Lin threw Baiyu down at Jinghua's feet and chuckled. "I have an idea. What if you kill Yusheng Jin with his own sword. What was the name, Baiyu? Yes, that would be great!" Jinghua clenched his fists. He wanted to kill his father now. Jinghua picked up the sword and left. "You're a disgrace to the demon family line. No son of mine would ever act this way." Ning Lin yelled as Jinghua walked away.
Bingwen waited patiently for Jinghua to return and take him away from the Ning palace. While he was waiting, he thought about the nicknames. Jinghua and Bingwen. Bingwen translated to bright and cultivated. And Jinghua translated to Situation splendid. Jinghua was a female name but Bingwen liked the name when he was younger. But of course, he forgot that.
The door opened and entered Jinghua. Bingwen stood up. "We need to leave now before my father finds out I have taken you with me." He said, holding out Baiyu. Bingwen took his sword and followed Jinghua out. The two flew away from the palace on their swords.
Somewhere in the eastern region, Yuming and Hung Meifeng were taking a path through a supposedly haunted forest. "I really appreciate you staying by me this whole time." Yuming said, she had been saying this a lot lately which worried Hung Meifeng. "Something is wrong. Something you're not telling me." Hung Meifeng said. Yuming sighed. "I've just had this bad feeling about my brother. I know he'll be alright but…he's weak. He isn't well. He shouldn't be on his own. He needs a royal guard." She said, Hung Meifeng grabbed Yuming's hand. "It'll be alright. Maybe he'll get one. And it might just be Ning Cheng. Who knows. But I know, even with his poor health, Yusheng Jin will be alright. You have a great heart, Mei."
After an hour of flying around, the two eventually made it away from the Ning palace. "It shouldn't be long now before my father starts sending out disciples to bring you and I back. All that should be done now is to keep on going." Jinghua said.
"So we're just going to run away for the next two years?" Bingwen asked as the two of them landed and put their swords away. "I don't know yet. But if that is the case, we better stay together." Jinghua extended his pinky and held it in front of Bingwen's hand. Bingwen hesitantly accepted the promise and their pinkies locked once again.
