I went to the cafeteria and the first thing I saw was Alex sitting with a girl.
I don't know what happened but the sight made my mood go from bad to worse for some reason. Though, I'm pretty sure it was because I saw Alex. That guy was a sore sight indeed.
After college was over, my aunt came to pick me up.
"Did you have fun today?" she asked.
"Of course, aunt" I replied gazing out the window.
"Excellent! All those clubbing made up for it right?"
"yeah…"
The rest of the car ride was quiet.
A week went by and Monday.
It looked like a rainstorm was approaching that day.
I don't like to stay home when it rains. It gives me anxiety at times, if I do not get out of that house I start to panic.
The panic all started after the day my parents died. It rained that day too.
Luckily on this rainy day, the classes were canceled.
"Great I can just stay in class. Nobody's going to be there."
I asked my aunt to drop me at my college.
She was a bit reluctant, but she knew I wouldn't stay home no matter what.
"Have fun Skyler", she said after dropping me off.
(What am I? 5?)
"Will do." I smiled as I turned around.
I went to the class hoping for some peace but there was already someone present there.
It was Alex.
(Great just great, Does this kid ever look at his phone before coming?)
I sat as far away from him as possible thinking this would give him a hint not to communicate with me.
I took out my sketchbook to draw.
Even though I gave him obvious hints, Alex still talked to me.
I still gave him short answers so that he could stop talking. He did eventually.
An hour went by.
Luckily, he didn't say a word to me.
After a while, my aunt messaged me, telling me she was going out for lunch, and asking if I wanted to join her.
I couldn't say no to her, So I just agreed.
10 minutes later she texted me again asking me to come outside. I grabbed my umbrella and bag and walked outside.
My Aunt is nice but I 'Respect' her and her boundaries a lot. That's why I don't let people who are in the same institution as me near me. She gets a bit too... what you could say …worried.
As I was walking towards the exit, I heard Alex call from behind me.
(No...)
I tried ignoring him, but he just decided to run up to me and grab my shoulder.
(no...NO SHE'S LOOKING AT ME FUCK THIS IDIOT)
A feeling of fear filled me. I told him to let me go multiple times, but he would not.
I looked at the car. I could see her staring at me right through the tinted glass.
I had no choice but to come up to him, as rude as I can.
I called him all sorts of things from being low to harassing people.
(Take a hint you dumbass!)
He looked down at me, his eyes as shocked as ever. I pushed him aggressively to free myself from his grip.
Unfortunately, instead of taking that hint, it just made him angry.
I turned around to walk to the car. My Aunts eyes were still on me. I could feel those eyes through me.
"Who are you to call me low when you're a man whore in public! I'm sure your parents regret having you as a child." Alex said suddenly.
(What...?)
An utter fear ran inside me when I heard those words calling me out from behind me. I turned around. He was holding his phone with the picture of me and Mike kissing.
I looked at the car to check if she saw it.
She did.
( the shadow that I saw earlier was Alex's)
In a rush, I asked him to put the phone down. He looked confused but showed no signs of putting the phone down either.
I pushed myself on him and snatched his phone from his hand while squeezing his arm to lose the grip. He let out a pained sound.
I deleted the photo from his phone.
I looked at the car again to see if her focus was on something else now.
Of course, it wasn't, she was completely focused on us.
(Ugh this guy just threw an axe on his foot)
I left his arm and went back to the car mumbling all the things that were making their way to my mind. Leaving Alex behind.
"Hey, Skyler! How was your day today?" My aunt said with an excited voice as if to cheer me up while I got in the car.
(Well how do you think it was-)
"umm it was….good"
"Good...good" she muttered as she started to drive the car.
Silence filled the car.
After a while, she spoke again.
"well...that kid who was he again?"
(Of course, she would ask.)
"Just a guy from my class"
"He was showing you something on his phone wasn't he … looks like you guys are close!" she said smiling brightly.
Fear took over me.
"Haha, you know Skyler baby, though your aunt is old now her eyesight is still pretty sharp!" She said laughing loudly.
I crossed my fingers hoping she didn't actually, see what he showed. I was wrong though.
She was way more clever than I thought. She might have not seen what was there on Alex's phone but I'm sure she could make it out from even the slightest hint possible.
Not that I could, but there was no point lying to her now.
After she stopped laughing, she put on a calm expression.
"Phew…Uhm, Skyler," she said clearing her throat. "you know what you have to do right?"
( I have to talk her out somehow.)
"ut aunty it was just Mike and -" I tried to talk her out but she cut me off.
"hmm what was that I think I didn't hear you. Are you trying to talk your poor old aunt out now?"
I can't do anything in this situation. She always comes first. Her wishes and commands have been and will always be my priority no matter what.
"Yes, aunty" I replied.
"Now tell me what you have to do," she said.
"I have to apologize to him..."
(apologies....)
"That's like my baby! now let's go eat something delicious! How about some pasta from your favorite cafe." she said, her expression changing back to being joyful.
"yes, aunty," I said looking out the window.
Today was a long day I swear. I sometimes wish I could just escape this hell hole of a world.
Instead of going to the class, I should have just gone to the cliff. This whole mess could have been avoided.
